Hey everyone!
It's been so long since I posted on this thread. I went on two fabulous European trips this summer and ever since I got back, it's been downhill on the training but I'm starting to climb out of my rut and get back with the program. Afterall, I have a MARATHON to prepare for.
Last week was the first week since mid-June that I felt like I did worthwhile training. After I got back from Austria, I went on a 10-mile bike ride and crashed big time. I discovered that trying to break on an oil-slicked surface is not a good idea.

This crash set me back in my training (ok, I'm a wimp...especially after reading about Heather's DH walking the day after his neck surgery. !!!) Now that my knee and shoulders are getting back to normal, I'm ready to tackle the beast...er, training.
Last weekend I participated in a 14-mile bike ride (Tour de Oink). I rested on Sunday. This is what I did the rest of the week:
Mon - Weight training & aerobic exercise (1hr)
Tues - Walk/Run 3 miles at 15 min pace
Wed - Weight training & aerobic exercise (1hr)
Thur - Walk/Run 3 miles at 15 min pace
Fri - Weight training & aerobic exercise (1hr)
Sat - Walk/Run 4.75 miles at 14.3 min pace
Sun (today) - Bike ride (25 miles)
I think I'll take tomorrow off.
Now, if I could just start losing weight....

I think I welcomed you on another thread but it doesn't hurt to do it again.

Sounds like you've got a good plan for your 1/2 marathon. This last WDW 1/2 was my first event ever - at age 49. You can do it.

And, I was very overweight (still am

) but I did manage to lose 30 pounds in my training last year. I haven't lost any since but I'm gonna work on that.
Stephanie - you're going to get so fast that we won't be able to recognize you when you pass us.

When the weather turns a little cooler, I would love to come down to where you are and have you show me how to do some speed workouts. I need to see it in person. I don't think I'm doing it right. By the way,

for your DH. I hope he gets better soon.
Terri - hope you are doing better these days. SF is just a couple of months away. I better start tackling some hills in preparation.
Heather -

for your DH. What kind of neck surgery did he have? My DH had surgery for a herniated disc in his neck and I don't recall him walking much the day after. Ha!
Kristi - I am so out of the loop regarding Leslie Sansone. I think I may need to order some of her stuff. I need all the help I can get. Thanks for posting this.
Leana - please send some of that cooler weather down here. We are melting. Also, what is active release? I'm having some piriformis issues. As I mentioned to Terri - SF is just a couple of months away. And then, the ToT!
ohMom - no advice for you as my pace seems to be getting worse.

I can certainly tell you what NOT to do. Ha!
Vic - with fees like that can I be the WISH treasurer. I promise to take really good care of the money. I'll be glad to invest it wisely after I pay off my European trips.
Angie - I'm getting tired just reading what all you did for training this week.

Wow, running then core exercises then pump class? You go, girl! Sending some

for your back.
Dave - Are you sure you didn't leave something out of those instructions? I tried to do what you said but my house is still a wreck. I'll go back and try again.
nepatsfan - This is the first time I've report training in a long time so I can certainly relate. I admire that long-term goal of doing the Goofy. I still trying to think how in the world I am going to do the Mickey in '08.
Beth - no advice on the side stitch. I don't usually run that fast to get them.

Sending you some

to help make it go away!
Ali -

I think I welcomed you on another thread as well but I'll do it again here. With your love of all things Disney, you'll fit right in.
Steve - can't wait to read all the reports. Sounds like you guys had a great time!
Renee - good for you for getting out there. I used to look for excuses, not opportunities like you did.
Kim - good luck with your family reunion.
HAPPY 20th ANNIVERSARY!
Hope everyone has a safe and injury-free week. Happy training!
