Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

I can vouch for the Life minion. I just completed Counter Weight West solo and it was in large part due to my Life minion, a fairy that keeps you healed so you can use offensive spells. My first wizard was storm and the water elemental was not nearly as effective as the sprite.

The only tricky bit is if she turns up in the card stack early enough in the battle to help. If you are down to 200 health and she is late becoming available, sometimes it's not soon enough to do you any good. But drawn at the start or early to mid-battle, I have not lost a battle yet. She can use sprite, fairy, and satyr heal. She'll even attack with the first level imp if you are both healed. Sometimes, you wonder what she's doing in that she'll heal herself first with the three round sprite spell even if she doesn't seem to need it but I've learned that she does it to ensure that she doesn't get taken out early in the battle and have learned to rely on her, especially for solo battles.

I am in the Life School and my minion is a life sprite (tinkerbell). I have used her when I was alone in battles and she was a big help. When I battled with others, she became a little "self-centered" like giving health to herself when she did not needed. She did this numerous times on different battles with friends.

So in short, she works good when your alone.

This might of seemed pretty obvious to some of you but after I figured this out a while back it has really helped my game, so I thought I would share it with you all.

When you discard a spell card and click draw, it draws from your treasure cards. If you do not click draw and then go to your next turn, it draws cards from your regular spell deck.

So if you have a bunch of cards that keep showing up and you can't use them for a few turns, discard them before your next turn. Then maybe the cards you are looking for will show up in your deck faster.

I find this helpful early in the game when all the level 5 and 6 pips spells show up, and I am asking "where are all my low cards?"

Of course this all depends on how many cards you have in your deck, as to how many cards you should discard during a turn. I have never run out of cards though.

To add on this strategy, i have a reshuffle spell, that will put back the discarded cards back in you deck. I learned this spell from one of the hidden trainers. Either Colossus Blvd or Marleybone, i dont remember.

I used it only once, but makes me less hesitant to discard. You only have to carry one reshuffle in your deck.

Anyone else missing their friends list today? I tried to flee and return but that did not work. Restarting did not either. Any suggestions?

A temporary fix seems to be logging out, logging in another wizard on your account, then changing back to the first wizard.

It happened to me a few times today, i tried everything you said, sometimes it would work sometimes not. Some time just change to another room will make it work again. Other friends i have also note the problem.

Servers going down for quick restart around 2:00 EDT. Hopefully, that will fix some things. And a big thanks to JGoof (Gilroy) for all the help you gave Kimberly and myself yesterday in our various quest efforts.

Just before my character Tara Windwalker wasn't able to log in anymore, I was in a battle in Chelsea and saw a wizard run by ... on the wall ... not on the road.

I know ... I know ... game hallucinations (that's what I thought for a nano second).

Has anyone else seen this? Better yet, does anyone know how to do it?

I still can't login as Tara Windwalker. Mr. Lincoln says it is a developer's problem and that there are others like me who have excessive possessions (cards, wands, decks, etc). Dizzywood and Club Penguin tell you on the screen "you can only choose one more item for your igloo" or after you choose something you can't click on the item anymore. I hope Wizard 101 includes this in the game.

I am almost level 20 now as Tara Thunder, Myth with Life Minor

If you had me on your list before, please include me again.

Not sure what they were supposed to "fix" with the mini-down earlier but the Royal Museum instances are no longer working (there were issues yesterday in there that I thought had been resolved). I do show my friends list though so that seems better.

I am finally in Marleybone! Ok lets hear it "Go octo!" LOL no wi need to work up to get to chelsea court :(

I don't know what to do now. I just got my balance minion and have made it through the palace of fire and have access to that island in krokotopia. I have no quests and can't get any quests in the sphinx, what do i do?

Myth Minions rock! You get Golem,Troll, Cyclops and Minotaur. I pretty much used Cyclops all the time. He heals you, give power pips and casts storm shark, and sun bird!

budcollector: At what level did you get your ice minion? I'm already at 27. I was sent on a random mission to get a spell, where I called a Wyvern on Colossus, but no minion yet.:confused3

Here's a question that maybe Chedstro could find out about? ;)

I've reached the top of my schools now, but actually have three training points left to use. I've used a point before on balance and may use the other three there as well. However, is it possible that we may go to Dragonspyre before the actual release of the game, and is it possible we may get even higher cards for our characters, higher than level 42 that is. I wouldn't want to use all the points and then find that my second school of fire needed another point!
I do like to think that I think ahead. :rotfl:
Anyone heard any word yet on that?
Kim

Well Rowan DragonFlame is stuck on the loading screen trying to enter the game. :sad1:

I sent an email to customer support and they responded by asking me how many ninja pigs i have.

In my reply I asked them if there was a limit to the number of cards you can have.

I will let you know if they answer that.

When I was on with her earlier I had no friends list.

I was able to make a new character and am trying the death school this time.

Hopefully I can get the origional Rowan back in the game soon. popcorn::

I've noticed the Sprite Guardian's self-preservation tendencies, even at the expense of other people, just like you've both said. And that she's great when you call her out early. I was able to use her during my final two battles in Crimson Fields in Mooshu. I did the entire run by myself, with the help of my sprite at the end. I was feeling so good, I picked a fight with the War Oni a second time because he wouldn't go away! :rotfl2:

However, I do have a dilemma. I must be missing some side quests somewherre, because there's an NPC in the Tree of Life (Oakheart) that will give you a side quest if you've finished everything else. I cannot think of anything I've missed in Mooshu, but there is a problem I know I have dating back to Wizard City.

I'm missing the third badge on the second page, which I think people were saying was "Wizard City Savior". It's the one under the Gobbler badges. I can't think of what I missed in Wizard City to miss the badge. DesertCat suggested fighting Lord Nightshade again in the Haunted Cave, and I did so numerous times without any badges.

I did find the "missing" badge of Three Streets Savior from Blad in Triton Alley a day earlier, but I'm wondering if missing the Wizard City badge is preventing me from doing the Mooshu one. I even ran around Cave of Solitude and Kishibe Village wondering if I didn't talk to everyone, and nobody has a running quest for me. I did notice in Kishibe that there is a boss in a hut that I was never told to defeat, even though I can enter and defeat him. Hyottomo (or something of that nature) is his boss title.

If anyone has any ideas of what I might need to do to find the side quests, I'm all ears.

I wish I could Belle; but there are some things that I am sworn to secrecy about - and most of what you asked I really have no idea of the answers. Everything is currently in flux.
