Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

I was thinking it might be time for some organized Grubb runs. It seems as if more and more people are getting to the point of having that on their quest list. Dependng on the amount of interested people, we should be able to make a few runs to get everyone through. I would propose a morning and afternoon run on Saturday (7/12). Please post if interested and I'll start to set-up groups of 4. I think it will help if there is a mix of schools in each group along with at least 1 person in the team that is level 25+. Please post your school and current level if you are interested in joining the Grubb run or would like to lead a group.

Warning: Please be aware that this task can take at least 1 1/2 hours (or more) to complete.

Ain't that the truth! I went in there the other night to help my sister through it, forgetting that my son had already mentioned it...(middle aged brain:()
and it did take us forever!

I had skipped it during the level up, but oh boy it let me know right quick it hadn't forgotten me! It activated for me too, so we had a real busy evening.:lmao:

Note here: If you run out of life and mana then, as long as one of you stays in there to hold it open, you can teleport out, hit the games for more mana for your bottles and then just teleport back in to the other person. We had to take turns doing that once or twice.;)

Did anyone else do the survey on the Wizard main page? Once you log in you need to scroll down a bit. In one question it mentions the $10.00 monthly fee. Not surprised I guess.

I saw this too. I asked if there would be a better deal for paying on an annual basis. Also, asked about having two accounts, although I'm assuming it will be a fee for each account. I haven't played Toontown since the announcement that VMK was closing and don't plan to renew our accounts there so if they could bring the price down a little bit for Wizards...:rolleyes1

In comparison though, Wizards is in beta and it seems like I have fewer issues with it than Toontown. In TT, there are still so many bugs and crashes. Plus, the customer service in TT bites whereas the "school administrators" in Wizards have been awesome.

Side note: I sent in the information for 86 of my VMK accounts for the free month of TT so once I get the codes for all of these, I won't have to pay for TT for awhile. :lmao: -complains to nursing home staff that I need Internet to play TT-

PSA! The game is going to be down for maintenance for a few hours. Just thought you would like to know.;)
I just did get that last boss done in in time, half a minute to spare. lol

Yeah, I'm back to the beginning on that one, mostly because it was late and I had to go to bed! I started it with only one other person, and he and I managed to do fairly well as a team. I'd want to bring him in as Ice/Storm, but I don't know his level. Matthew Stormweaver, I think?

Anyway, I'm now a level 16 Life/Myth. I can't believe I reached Journeyman status already. Now if they could only find my missing Nature's Wrath card, I'd be in business! I find it harder to deal with power pips when I don't have my "big guns" in my arsenal. I rely on my Myth power player, Mr. Cyclops.

Just leave me a date and time, I'd like to take this on. I leveled up to Krok without doing the Brubb thing, but it might be challenging. I've gotten by Balance/Storm wizard up to 15. At this point Balance people have lot's of shields and they can share.

Cat:

Since chat is so terrible in the game. Maybe you should post here, what we should expect and a general battle strategy. Why does this take over an hour?

First, I started working on Krok last night, too. It's a lot easier than the Grubb battles. The monsters are Level 3 elite in Nightshade, and you can't avoid a fight!

Matthew and I last night discovered that we conquered the first fight to get to talk to the NPC standing there. Then she sent us to battle more monsters and we got pulled into ANOTHER fight. I jumped home to refill my potion and jumped back to where we were, which was a really great strategy. We managed to defeat our first boss, but after that, it was getting too late to stay up. I can see this taking a very long time if you can't avoid a battle.

I did earn a very useful Level 16 spell. I can absorb 400 health attacks, but only on a 3-pip shield. And my faeries, if they're available, are always good to have around to boost my health. :)

wow your a level 16! I am only a level 10

Argh! I'm stuck again!

Marleybone peeps: I'm doing the "Policeman's Ball" quest. I need to beat Sweepers in Ironworks but that means going back through a lot of the Ironworks quest to open the gates again. :headache:

Also, need help in Newgate Prison. It's such a pain just to walk through. Takes forever, so I want to take that walk as little as possible. Until I get these 2 things done, I'm at a stand still.

Hope there is help out there for me!:)

I'll tell you, Isle of Storms is NOT a good place for a storm wizard. Anyone working on quests there? Have several major boss battles - including a very large red and black spider that has 1800 points.

That is another one of the "Grubb" like instances where you have to complete the quest in full. It took me and another girl 2 1/2 hours to complete. Of course we took 'health' breaks and had to play some to get our 2 bottles full again and again.

You need to plan on at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours to finish even with help. It gets crazy. I honestly can't even tell you how many levels you have to go through. At least 15...probably more like 18.

Good luck! If you are going to do it this weekend, I will help and I can get my friend to help as well.

Just wanted to say hi to everybody and let you know I am back and ready to help out.

It is great to see so many new people and I hope to get more of you on my friends list this evening.

I have made it to level 20, and am now in krokosphinx island. I can't wait to get to level 22 so I can get that cool meteor spell that hits all the monsters at one time!

I am also willing to help out tomorrow, even though I am not very good at this game.

Thanks to everybody that comes running when I cry for Help!

Here is a link to our trip report with some really cool 4th of July fireworks pictures if you want to check it out!

Hope to do some battles with you all soon!

I have 2 spell cards that I have no idea what they do. When I tried to use one yesterday Card asked me if I was "sure I wanted to do that". I said I did not know. Can someone explain what exactly these cards do?

The cards are blue, with a picture of an angry sun. One of them is titled "Taunt" the other "Distract", it says "generate threat on target" on both cards.

I believe I got them from talking to a teacher when I went behind a waterfall.

Thanks

Taunt makes the enemies start attacking you more than the other ppl fighting with you and distract is the opposite. :)

If you are on my list, not sure who is at what world, but right now I am in the Ironworks near both the book and the cat if anyone wants to jump to me. I'll be here for a while.

Madison Stormcloud

I can't log in right this second. Where is the cat? I got the book when I helped you with your quest. :P
I won't be on until 8pm est.

I meant to help you more tonight, but get the old disconnect thing again. I don't know if it's the computers here again, or the storm going on outside messing up the cable. Even the computer on the direct cable is having problems now. lol
If things get better here I'll look for you again later.;)

Oh, too cool!

Both of you must be a tad or two ahead of me, but that sounds like a very useful card!!

Thanks for adding me tonight Fly!! :)
