Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

Was happy to get into the game, but not happy that the bug reporting button is gone and my character started back in with -8301 experience earned so far toward current level. :( No idea what happened, but I have a long way to go just to get back to zero and I can't even report it in the game.

Same thing here, no report button and -6??? into my current level. So you are not alone. Good thing my DH leveled up last night, or he would have really been in the hole - yikes!

lol your lucky, i have -20,000 XP :(

Edit: I reported the problem to support.

I think I will refrain fom logging in ROFL

hopefully they will address this quickly, must be something gone wrong from todays updates.

I read the changes that were being put into place today and they sound awesome!

Hi everyone!

Wow, there is alot of posts to float thru. It would be nice if maybe we could divide it into quests help and than general game. I know that takes work but it would sure help.

I have some questions about a couple of things. I have magic "cards" in my magic area but I can't load them with the rest of my magic cards and they don't come up in a fight??

Also, what is the "potion" and how do you use it?

What land does everyone play in?

Thanks!

Actually they've added a sticky thread about it over on the wizard forum and say it was supposed to give some people negative experience.

When your deck comes up in battle right click on one of those cards and the
'draw' button will come up beneath them. Some of the other deck cards might come up then, usually don't for me:) but in the next round when you pick some of them may come up then. Hope that helps some and welcome to the boards!

Negative experience?! Huh? lol These are the kind of questions I hate to see while at work and can't access the game.lol

Anyway you can post an exact quote from someone on that?

One of the changes in this build required us to rebalance the experience needed for leveling table, and the experience reward of many of the quests.

As a result, you may log in to find yourself at "negative" experience, like -2000/4000 experience to next level. This means you will have to earn an additional 6000 experience to eliminate this "debt" and gain your next level -- but before you get upset, realize that we also almost doubled the amount of experience that you get from quests, so the overall gain will be in your favor.

We elected not to do a wipe, and instead just allow players to overcome the negative experience number on their own. I think (hope) that you all will understand... this is beta, and sometimes things have to change for the betterment of the game. It can be a bit rocky at times, but the end result should be a better game for everyone.

Thanks for your patience.

This is the quote from the wizard board.

well I guess a negative XP is better than a wipe :thumbsup2

The other features sound great at least

ETA: I did not go negative XP at least, and I played a game of hotshots scored 5.5k and didnt get the extra items, just the mana and the gold. Guess they were on to me :rotfl:

I can't log in til tonight, so I don't know how this will effect my wizards, but this adjustment is not making much sense to me.

According to the update release notes, there are quests that I completed long ago that now have experience rewards attached (for example, a lot of quests on Krokosphinx Island). So how can people who did those quests earlier for NO reward be in an experience deficit now? I'm not understanding the math here.

Unless the MooShu quest offerings have been significantly increased, how are those wizards who have completed the limited quests there expected to overcome the deficit??? Without the experience payoff of quests, it will take forever to defeat enough things to get to your next level.

It sounds to me like they really wanted to do a wipe and have us all start over again. There were a lot of good things added to the earlier parts of the game: A Training Point for merely completing the Enrollment quest. More & better item drops from monsters (including pets!). Added inventory in the Wizard City shops. Etc., etc.

I know it's beta, but it seems to me that those of us who have been on the game the longest and have made the most progress are now being penalized with negative experience points and loads of missed opportunities.

I am not liking the sounds of this AT ALL.

Well, if it's any consolation, I think that we will all be back in Wizard City with ZERO experience points before Labor Day <grin>:smokin:

Only if they plan on releasing the game sans MooShu. That world still has a ways to go before it is ready.

Thanks :)

Looks like Golden, Bev and myself may be making a grubb run saturday night.

Golden and Bev I could start at 7,8, or 9 (EST)and they tell us we need at least 2 hours, do those times work for you two? Then we start begging cat or dreamytime to lead us :rotfl:

I have 2 questions for everyone:

1. Does anyone know where that darn beetle is in the Emperor's Retreat?

2. Does anyone need to go through the Retreat and want some company, since I have to go through all the battles again, anyways? Just let me know!

Thank you!

It's not hidden, but it's on a dark surface. You have to be close to see it.

It does not move much, must be frozen...

They have increased the payoffs for the MooShu quests.. each quest is now giving around 2100XP. When I signed on I had a defecit of over 10,000 but I was able to get out of it pretty quickly.

They fixed the Crimson Fields quest and we can now go further into the storyline. However, I ran into another bug in Kishibee Village and the storyline stops again. :sad1: I was just in the game and got a message that the servers are going down now for a quick fix, so maybe they'll fix it.

This is the quote from the wizard board.

I wondered why my xp meter was not moving up, I must have been in the negative. It is a good thing that I made the insane decision to do crimson field over and over and over, and you get the point. I went up 4 levels to level 42, yay me!

Wow! Lots of action around here today. I haven't logged in to see what's up. I never planned on playing a second wizard but they've made so many changes, I might just need to.

I'm confused aboutt he whole deficit thing. As Woodenhead (Kenneth) said, those of us who have done everything, before they added XP to certain quests, should have gained XP! Hmmmmm:confused3

I'm like you at least we can keep playing these characters for now!:lmao:
Thanks Lafchill for the quote, too!
Wonder if I can get on when i get home now to see how bad mine is. lol
Have to take our cable connection from our old computer this weekend since our old computer is dying rather quickly on us. Then have to call the cable company to get it attached to mine. Sure might making up xp a bit harder.;)
