I know it takes a long time with Disney transportation, but how long of time should we leave for travel from BWV to Hoop Dee Doo with a rental car?

Actually I have the same question for Whispering Canyon except will will not have a car yet so that one will be with Disney Transportation?

Oops, one more question, is it quicker to go to Downtown Disney form BWV with a car or Disney Tranportation?

Thanks all!

1. You will still need to take a FW internal bus even if you drive.

15 minutes drive to FW outpost
10 minutes wail for internal bus (any color bus will get you there)
10 minute ride on bus
2 minute walk to Pioneer Hall
37 minutes total (from the time you start your car)

2. Option 1

20 minutes waiting for the bus to MK (if you just missed the bus)
12 minute ride
15 minutes waiting for bus/boat (you can take a bus or boat to WL
5 minute walk to WC.
52 minutes total

Option 2

15 minute walk to MGM
20 minute wait for WL bus
15 minute ride to WL
2 minute walk to WC.
52 minutes total

Option 2 should be fastest. You probably won't wait the full time for the two legs.

3. The problem is waiting for busses. Once you are on the bus it is non stop to DTD. On the way back, the bus may stop at some of the other Epcot resorts first. So, yes it is quicker to take the car.

Thanks for your reply, I printed it out and will take it with me!

We did both in Dec from the Beach Club. Both took about 40 - 45 min. Here is how we did it:

Bus to MK.

Get off bus and walk to resort launches. WL and FW share a launch - which stop is first varies. Take launch to Dock. For WL you walk by the pool and to the hotel - 5 min max. If you time it right you can see the geiser errupt on the hour.

For HDDR walk up the path, past the golf cart parking to Pioneer Hall. It was well signed. The walk was about 7 min max, flat, on paved or pea gravel path.

Coming back we reveresed it since the MK was still open. We also got to see the electric water parade from the dock area at WL.

We found the boat ride relaxing. You can see part of the old River Country and Discovery Island if the sun is still up. We always had horrible luck transferring at Downtown Disney in the past so I personally avoid it.

So, this is how you go to both Hoop Dee Doo and Whispering Canyon? ARe they close to each other?

They are right next to each other (as WDW goes). There is a walking path between the two (about 1/2 mile). The path is not lighted so I wouldn't adivse walking it at night.

That'll teach me to put stuff in writing :teeth: ;)

As a DVC Member I would drive from BWV to Wilderness Lodge park valet at the Lodge (Free for DVC Members) :teeth: then walk to the bus stop and jump on the bus to Ft. Wilderness Campground they arrive every few minutes (5 min max) the ride takes 3 minutes as the Settelment is only a mile from Wilderness Lodge. You could also ride one of the Blue Flag Resort Boats if you had a little extra time. total time less then 30 minutes

What about Wilderness Lodge without a rental car as a DVC member?

Well, Ed's options are the best from BWV unless you plan other events around your plans...I would plan the day at Magic Kingdom for the day of your ADR at WCC then travel to Wilderness Lodge from MK by either bus or boat.

There are so many options available thur Disney transportion...like after dinner you may want to visit DTD for a few hours you could catch the bus from WL to DTD then return to BWV on the bus from there.

If you must leave from BWV's you would also check on maybe getting a taxi.

Thanks all, I appreciate it! We are arriving that day from the airport, checking into the BVW and then heading over to Whispering Canyon as our first dinner. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to choose a location so far for the first night, but we will not be leaving from MK since we are not doing any parks that day.
