I'm hesitating getting a FP for wishes during our June 2015 trip because it means we'd only get three FPs at MK that day. (IF I understand correctly.)

Is the FP viewing area only down in the Rose Garden?

ISO Robo :-) -- Hoping you have an updated map showing where the reserved area(s) are and where the best non-reserved locations are now. Maybe nothing has changed. Brad's site has some link issues so I can't see the maps from there any longer.

TIA!

I found this thread with Maps
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3365348

but my questions about reserved/non-reserved areas stands.

Also, from that thread listing restaurants, we're already thinking about getting reservations to Ohana for our party of 8. I've eaten there a few times for dinner and breakfast but don't recall a place to see fireworks from. Is it just exiting the restaurant and going to the beach? (Which I've done and didn't care for, the sound was bad).

You only get to reserve THREE FP's total in advance for each park day. So you would have to use one of your three FP's for WISHE if you want to do that and then you'd only be able to reserve two rides/attractions.

IMHO I really do not see the point of reserving a space to watch WISHES, a fireworks show when you can see all those beautiful fireworks from all over the park. Granted there are some viewing areas better than others, but I'd much rather use a FP for a ride than use for WISHES.

I would not use an FP on wishes, even if I had 30.

the viewing angle is just not right, you don't see the fireworks over the castle like you are supposed to, the ground effect (the fireworks that actually launch near the castle) don't look right, its just not as good of a show.

We tried it, but really didn't like it as much as watching from the Hub.

1. (Generally) Yes. Because you must wait until the Return Time of the last of your 3 original FP+ to be reached before you can book another FP+ that day.
So, since Wishes is often the last event of the day at MK, you'd not get to make a 4th (or more) FP+.

2. Yup.

Here's a map that shows the FastPass+ reserved locations.
The MSEP FP+ area ceases to be "reserved" after the parade passes.
They take down the ropes and the area becomes just "another open spot along the sidewalk."
If you choose FP+ for MSEP only, I've included red arrows to show where to MOVE
for viewing Wishes (and Celebrate the Magic) right after the parade passes the parade FP+ reserved area.

Otherwise:

Below is a rough estimate of the Fireworks viewing spots
based on other posters' info on the boards and personal experience.

We did the FP on our last trip and we're glad we did because we had a little one who crawled around the grass. PP is right that the angle is just not very good, but we wanted to trade space for good view.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend it to most people.

As far as Ohana, some tables have a good view out the window. I don't remember there being big tables with the ideal view though. There were also windows in the lobby waiting area that you might be able to see from. I e read mixed reports about beach viewing.

1. Wishes can be seen very well from the north windows of 'Ohana.
They pipe in the audio, too.

2. The Poly beach is very torn up and obstructed by construction right now, and will be for awhile.

Wonderful, thanks!

I wasn't even thinking about coordinating MSEP (did this replace Spectromagic?) and Celebrate the Magic (which I've never seen).

I love Wishes in front of Casey's and from the Tomorrowland bridge near the photographers so i can watch the pictures being taken while waiting. As for the parade's I used to like hanging out in front of the Hall of Presidents.

It appears a Casey's perch is good for the parade AND fireworks. But how about Celebrate the magic?
