I have read that the second floor of the Main Street train station is a decent place to watch Wishes and that it isn't crowded. Then, I came across another blog that said the train station was always crowded for the fireworks. Can anyone straighten this out for me? Thanks!

The two points are not mutually exclusive, so there is no straightening out that needs to be done. Yes, it is a great place to watch the fireworks, and for that reason, it is always crowded. Doesn't it stand to reason that any location that is "great" will also be "crowded"? But be aware that of late, the second floor of the fire station has been roped off for VIP viewing and "regular folks" cannot always get up there. I don't know how many nights a week this is happening, but it is certainly far more than ever before.

Several years ago - 'was' sort of a 'best kept secret' - then everyone that thought that, felt the overwhelming 'need' to 'pass it on' - so, guess what? Not worth the effort anymore!! The last time we decided to try viewing from there, it was a nightmare - so crowded and pushy that we quickly fled!! :crazy2:

Sort of like - the FP viewing area was a nice relaxing spot - so Disney quickly saw 'how nice' and stopped FP's for it - and guess what? - they turned it into an 'additional' moneymaker for their sold out over priced, bad viewing area dessert party for Wishes - now, on same day, you can pay your $59 (or whatever, now) for the desserts, eat them, 'then' go to the former FP area to view Wishes!!

Do I sound a little jaded with Disney right now?? Yep, sure am! Been going since MK opened, and in our opinion, 'most' of their changes are 'not' for the better of the enjoyment of the 'guests' - just the pockets of Disney.

Sorry for the rant! Just seemed to have to 'let it out'!! :goodvibes

I've had luck with viewing Wishes out in front of the Crystal Palace restaurant. Now with the reconfiguration of the hub area this might be more crowded now, but it was a good alternative for my family and me.

I have an ADR at Crystal Palace at 7:30pm and was going to milk this to be able to watch Wishes from the front. Is there a side (left, right middle, on the porch, down the steps, etc...) that is better?

I haven 't been to MK in years. Are you able to see the castle from Crystal Palace?

Thank you for clearing that up. THAT was the answer I was looking for. Appreciate it!

I 100% agree. The rose garden was the best place to sit down, stretch out and really enjoy the fireworks. Now, the FP area is just as packed as everywhere else, it's not even enjoyable. I was very disappointed with that change.
