My understanding is that last October, the TTDP switched to 180 days. UNTIL it was time to book for this September. The TTDP is not offered on MNSSHP nights so ADRs weren't available until they finalized what nights they would hold the Halloween party. September peeps couldn't book until April 15th.
It looks like it is back on track for 180 days out. And since the TTDP has previously taken place on MVMCP nights, hopefully it will stay at 180.

Has anyone booked the party for dates around the 18th to 22nd of October? I haven't found any availability at all for those days. Are they really selling out that quickly, or have they just not been released yet? I'm hopeful for October 25th, but maybe 180 days in advance is no longer good enough? We haven't booked our hotel, so we don't have the +10 to play with this time.

Today was my 180, I got all my ADR's online but this one. I called and they told it has not been sold out, it just hasn't been opened up yet. I also was looking for October 25th. Good Luck! Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
Sorry also, the CM also said that it's probably because Halloween Party dates haven't technically been released yet even though we know when they are.

Also they opened our dates in the middle of the day.

Oh wow, this is good to know. Congratulations on getting Oct. 22nd. If you have a minute, could you check online to see if there is availability showing for the Oct. 25th party? I don't have a hotel reservation booked, so I can't check it myself. I'm hoping to book it online tomorrow since it would be the 180 day mark, and I'm sooo worried that it is sold out too. No problem if you don't have time. Congrats again!

Thank you!! *sigh* It's so frustrating to know that at even 180 days out, it's often too late to book things. I have successfully gotten cancellations before, but it was a HUGE hassle checking and rechecking for weeks at a time. Thanks for letting me know. I won't get my hopes up tomorrow.

I'm on the phone right now with CM and they are telling me that October 25th is sold out. . That's the date we wanted. Totally sucks, because my 180 was yesterday and the CM told me that the hadn't started taking ressies yet. Oh well now to watch for cancellations.

I have been trying for 10/15 since the 180 day window opened and haven't been able to book.

Call again and ask them to do a venue search. Sometimes if it hasn't opened up the CM thinks it is sold out. You can call and talk to 4 different cm's and get 5 different answers
This happened to me last fall. I called daily about the party in the AM, and watched the website at night. Finally I was told by one CM that the dates for my reservation had opened, but that "all party dates had sold out" for my vacation stay. I was really surprised since I had called daily at 6AM my time to try to book this party for at least two weeks before the old booking window to make sure I would "catch" it. So I continued to call (hoping for a cancellation) for the next week. At the end of the week, I was actually able to secure an ADR for the party. I was told by that CM that the dates for my stay had been not sold out or even opened; they had actually opened the party reservations that very morning. So I had what was probably a week of ill-informed dining CMs.
Just keep trying. I would call instead of watching the website, though. If you are staying concierge level, let your concierge planning office know you want to attend the party - they will book it for you. I've had my ADR's for about two weeks because I let the planning service book it.

Call and try for the absolute last day of your trip.
The later in your trip, the fewer the number of people who have had access to ANY event as part of their "+10."
That's where we put Be Our Guest and the Dessert Party-- on our last 2 nights in WDW. It's a strategy that always works well for me.

We also tried for October 25th at our 180 day (which would have been 180 plus 4) right at 6 am but it was sold out. We could book October 27 but since that is check out day (and our flight is at 3), that wouldn't work. I called, and my SIL called, and we were both told that it was open, but sold out. I knew it was popular but I didn't realize it was going to be sold out already. Oh well!
