Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

If the only night you were going to be in MK was a mickeys Christmas party night would you still book this?

I would not because there's so much going on at the party I don't think you'd want to miss out. With that said, I've never done the Wishes party (can't wait to get an ADR for this next trip!) so I don't know how much time it takes. But we enjoy the cookies & hot cocoa at the party as we get into the holiday spirit. I just feel like you'd be trying to squeeze in too much. Will you get the chance to do the party next trip or can you find the time this upcoming one?

I'm not sure there will be a next trip - this is kind of a once in a lifetime trip for us.

My only other option would be to go to MK the day we arrive instead of Epcot but that would mean I'd miss illuminations and well Epcot!

Is there anyway you can get to MK two nights? One for MVMCP & another for Wishes party? And watch what you say -- our last trip two years ago was supposed to be a once in a lifetime trip and now we got the Disney bug!! We started planning the next trip even before we left! :) We are so excited to return this year. We are doing both parties (hopefully if I can get that ADR) but definitely on different nights. Maybe others will have more input. Have fun planning!!!

This is my question, too. We will have a party of 14. As much as I want to squeeze in every ride and attraction, I'm thinking that at least we'll have a guaranteed good spot for Wishes for all of us. Can you see the lights/show that's on the Castle from there? You don't miss out on the parade, do you? Sorry for all the questions!

Thank you!
Tamara

I just edited my other post with a possible alternative. We are only there 4 days and we arrive mid day on the 13th. I was planning on doing Epcot that day since its really only a half day. I could skip Epcot and illuminations and go to MK and hopefully the desert party that night. The next day we'd be at MK again for the day and the party that night then the next two days would be animal kingdom and Hollywood studios.

Since it sounds like your time is limited & you really want to do both, I say go for it! MVMCP was super crowded & it would be a nice break from the crowd & to really enjoy the fireworks. If you did the dessert party, I'd try to catch the second parade if you have a family who can stay up for it. And i think you would just have to be jn the moment with each activity & not worry about getting "your money's worth" because you can't do it all anyway. Sounds like a magical evening!

Ohhh, I don't think I'd skip Epcot all together like that. On short trips, especially with lighter crowds, I've done AK in the morning and then hit HS in the evening. AK closes earlier than the other parks. Then you could still have a day for Epcot :-)

On a side note, Epcot has always been a favorite of mine & it's huge! Would you consider half day at HS on arrival day. Evening activities would be Fantasmic & Osbourne Lights. That would free up a full day for Epcot. Just a thought! Have fun!!!

This is a nice idea too. Then on arrival you can enjoy your resort and relax or hit DTD. Or hey, have time for the Wishes party!

We don't have park hoppers so that won't work :( I was thinking of doing a full day of MK and then booking the Mickey party for the evening of AK.

So many options for a plan, I know!

I know! It's so much harder when you try to work in ADR's to match the right park days. I'm about to pull my hair out. We are on a four day DCL cruise and three days at discovery cove and sea world and compared to those Disney is seeming like a lot of work!

That is what we did last year and it worked out well. I forget exactly our complete schedule but we were only there for 6 days.

Arrival Day afternoon, we went to DHS for OL

The night of MVMCP we went to DHS agin in morning then to MK at 4 as we did not have PH. Ate BOG @ 4:30, did Dessert Party at 8, Wishes @9, 2nd Parade @ 10 and it all worked out well

We love Epcot and do spend most of our time there but we have skipped AK our last 2 Trips

Patiently waiting for Dec too. We are looking to do a MVMCP night as well. It has worked for us the last 2/3 years to do the Party and the Desert Party on the same night. Nice to see the fireworks without being elbow to elbow with 20,000 of my closest friends!

After following this thread in advance of our trip and stalking the reservation site, I was able to get our Aug 1 ressie within minutes of Aug opening. Just wanted to share that the party was FABULOUS and so were our AMAZING seats.
