Hi~

I am planning on surprising my son on his birthday with a Wishes Cruise (he will be 7). He has never seen the fireworks before and I am wondering how important is it to have the boat with the music piped in? It is a big difference in price.

Thanks in advance.

I've been on the boat with the music, and I've watched from my balcony in the CR, so I've seen the fireworks with and without music. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me, but if the price is that much difference, I think you can go without it. If you want to get the total feel, pay the extra money, but if money is tight it's not the end of the world to watch Wishes without sound.

The birthday cruise is great, we did it last March for my nieces 4th birthday. I know they've changed the cruises some since then, but we got a huge birthday cake, sodas (they offered liquor but we declined), party hats, noise makers, and they had the boat decorated with a birthday banner and balloons. It really was a lot of fun.

Have a great time!!

we did it with the music and it was AWESOME!! that being said, if we were musicless i think we would have enjoyed it almost as much...

what really made the evening super-special was the way it was "presented" in that i arranged the whole thing and no one from our party knew we were going... i made up a scroll from my computer w/the wishes logo and jiminy cricket and stowed it in my purse and while we were having dinner at chef mickey's i caught our waitress' attention and had her deliver the scroll as a special invitation (she even added to our surprise by presenting it along w/a signed 8x10 photo of mickey and the gang) w/lots of hoopla and such... we went down to the dock and met our captain, i took care of $ business real quickly on the side and off we went... AMAZING!! esp since our gang thought it was pixie dust and it was!

where can I find current pricing and availability for these cruises?

I did this about two years ago. I made sure that we saw Wishes from the park the night before (to get the feel of the music and narration) then we did our cruise.

The show is spectacular and can be enjoyed without the music. However it is not a true "wishes" experience without it.

One thing you maybe could do is if you have an ipod with speaker capacity you could purchase the soundtrack ahead of time and have your own private "sound system" of Wishes.

don't know how much the regular is, but the premium wishes cruise w/music was $250 for up to 9 people :)
