I'm falling madly in love with the wishing well. I can't say for sure that we're getting it. Because I realize that it's totally frivolous, it would be one of the first things to cut if we want to scale back. I really want it though!

Thank you! I can't take credit for much, I just did the text. Brandon is so good with anything techy, I just described what I wanted and he made it. I'm also very lucky that I have a super laidback groom that lets me have a very pink, feminine wedding.

In other news, that last bridesmaids necklace came in and I LOVE it!! Actually, I went back and ordered one for myself I couldn't pass it up, it was only $37 and it is gorgeous!

My bridal shower was today and it was so much fun! It was thrown by three of my mom's friends and they made everything so beautiful-- and the food was deeeelicious. I'll try to put up some pictures soon!

Also, our guest count is now up to 68. We were planning on 100, so we're still ok. I'm just a tad nervous because we still have unreturned cards. We'll see how it turns out!

Goodness I haven't updated in forever. In the past three weeks, Brandon has taken the FL bar, I started a new job, quit that job (it was AWFUL), and started two new jobs! We've been very busy. I realized today that the wedding is in 67 days and I almost spit out my drink. I have no idea where the time has gone.

Our guest count is up to 90... and we're still expecting a few more. I'm a little nervous to see how our costs will go up. That might cut into our "extras" fund a little. Final guest count should be in by this weekend.

We've been getting a little crafty recently. I'm almost finished with the flower girl baskets. They're inspired by the dwarves:

All that's left is for my artsy friend to add two gold ribbon bows to the base of each handle. She will make something far prettier than I could!


Brandon is making a card box for the reception. I told him I wanted it to look like the huntsman's box from SW. So here is the inspiration pic:

He is going to get started this weekend. I'll post pics along the way!

We're going to get started on the programs soon. I want them to look like the storybook that opens at the beginning of SW. I'm just not sure how to accomplish this, to actually make them look like books and not a piece of cardstock folded in half... any ideas?

Sort of sad news-- all of the pictures from my bridal shower were taken by my godmom, and she lost her memory card. She put it in her pocket to bring over to me, then when she got to my house it wasn't there. I'm pretty bummed, but even more, I feel terrible for my godmom. I know she feels way worse than I do.

Anyway, I should have lots of updates soon. My bridesmaids' dresses are in, my wedding dress and veil should get here this week or next week, and our wedding rings should be ready soon. I can't wait to have more fun pics to post!

Just a suggestion, there are a number of books out their dedicated to DIY book/journal making, perhaps you might be able to find one at a local book store/library/online and get a couple ideas for your programs.

We made a lot of wedding progress this week. I bought presents for my parents, our guest count is almost finalized, and several of our craft-y projects are near completion. I was a little disappointed that my dress didn't arrive this week, so I called my dress company yesterday and have been fully assured that the dress will arrive on Tuesday. Ergo, Dress Watch 2011 has begun!!

One of the things I made this week was a set of little cards to go in my bridesmaids' gift bags. I decided a few weeks ago to hire Beaute Speciale to do makeup for all of my girls on the wedding day. I'm going to surprise them with it (I always think of having your makeup done as being pampered, I hope they like it). Each lady will have one of these in her gift bag:

And on to the week's big project: the Snow White card box. I could not be more thrilled with how it turned out. I've always known Brandon is very talented artistically but he really blew me away with this one.

We resumed the project by picking up some wood trim, thinking it would make the box look more complete

The trim really wanted to bow out away from the box, so we attached it with clamps:

Which worked well

To make the heart and sword ornament, Brandon glued two wooden heart cut outs together (for thickness) and took a doll house fence and broke it apart:

He then glued those pieces together and shaped the sword with a dremel. The heart and sword got spray painted gold:

And we used a spray on wood stain in a dark cherry for the box:

Here it is in between coats.

Then Brandon painted the design on the front:

Added a black border:

And attached the heart and sword!

We noticed that there was a visible gap around the corners, where the wood trim pieces came together. Back to the craft store we went, where we got an idea:

I thought they looked very Evil Queen-ish!

A little spray paint and crazy glue...

Voila!

And per my request, Brandon finished the top with a Snow White quote:

All that's left is to tack some fabric...
