Chimera -- hello! I tried to send you a PM (long, LONG overdue) but your box is full!

Both my DW (Darcey) and I (Andrew) will be at POR Friday night, at the 'W' tent post 1/2, and at the Illuminations Dessert Party. We are SOOO looking forward to this trip. :donald:

Friday - 4 of us
Monday - 4 of us (depending on if I can walk)
Can't wait to see everyone!!

CJ - Fishers, IN
1k@ a time

I've updated the opening post with names and numbers so we can see who and how many will be attending events. I didn't put in numbers for the post-race stuff since we won't need to be seating everyone. So far, we have approx 55 for Fri dinner and 35 for Mon breakfast. I also didn't put in numbers for Illuminations since I assumed Rhonda already had that nailed down.

Someone mentioned ADR's. Yes, we do have an ADR for Sat for Ohana, but I can't for the life of me remember what time. I do recall it was somewhere around the same time as Jen, so I guess we'll just show up and see what happens :teeth:

Anyone else planning to join the fun?

Please sign myself (Molli) and my mom -- AlreadyexcitedGrammy, Bev -- up for 1/2 W tent and Boardwalk bakery breakfast. Thanks!!

Hey Mel, I would love to join in the festivities after the full and meet at the W tent. I plan on being the guy with the Goofy medal and weak knees. Sorry for the late reply but I have not been active on the boards lately. I can't wait to meet all the Wish team members.

I saw this on the Resorts Board. Havent been able to confirm yet though.

POR Food Court closed from Jan - March 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We booked at Port Orleans Riverside for a week in January. We were very excited since that would be our first time there. When I called to make dining reservations last week, the lady at Disney told me that the food court at POR would be closed from Jan 4th until March 2007. No one told me that when I booked the trip! I even called back to verify and it was true. We switched to CBR instead because we were planning to use the food court a lot. I hope we aren't disappointed!!! I just wanted to warn would-be POR guests.

If this is true, we need to develop a backup plan quick!

Paul

Please put us (The DW and me) down for the 5th.

If the food court at POR is closed, how about POFQ?

Eek! I've just realized that I am not on "The Lists!"

Will be at the Friday Dinner (DH, DS and me) - wherever it is since POR will be closed I see

Will be needing the cheers for the Half Saturday
Will stop by the W tent after

Will be needing the cheers for the Full Sunday
Will stop by the W tent after

Will be attending the Dessert party Sunday (DH, DS and me)

Will be attending Boardwalk Bakery breakfast Monday, (DH & me, DS will be sleeping!)

Mel - Can you please update my info since the kids are coming along now.

Friday Meet - 4

Monday Boardwalk - 4

We'll have to cheer for DH during the 1/2 and then we'll be over at the WISH tent.

Sunday for the full, DH and DD's will be infront of Beach Club for the duration. I will walk back there after I finish to cheer on every last WISHER!!

I'm not sure about the POR food court, but we stayed at POFQ this past January and I didn't think the food court there was too large. I'm not sure how busy it will be that weekend or how it compares to the size of the one at POR, but does anyone think this place may not be large enough for all of us if indeed the one at POR is closed?

I just called the front desk. They do have plans to close the POR food court, though Boatwright's will be open. I think POFQ probably has as much seating as Trail's End. What does everyone else think? Any other suggestions? :thumbsup2

This was my concern as well. Ordinarily I wouldn't think it was too busy, but with the marathon and all the overflow from POR--- it could be very busy indeed.

I know it's a little further afield, but what about the Pop Century food court?

Definitely bigger than the other 2.... with different sections... so.. could be a viable option :)

Oh.. and btw... I am in for the Friday meet... 1
Meet at the W tent after the half....

Would LOVE to cheer on the full :) count me in...

Have already paid for the Illuminations party.. so.. I am in :)

Don't know about the breakfast thing... that is my last morning ... and I will want to hit the Magic Kingdom probably before heading onto the Magical Express....

Can't wait to meet everyone :)

Kathy

Now if I can just get my butt in gear and kick up my training!!!!!! I am all ready for the fun... but not so ready for the work!! LOL!! :)

Mel, thanks for compiling all of this information! I soooo WISH I could be at the Friday dinner just to meet everyone, but have dinner plans elsewhere. DH and I will be doing the half, meeting up at "W" tent, I'll be cheering on the full, and then there will be 4 for the Illuminations dessert. :sunny: Anne

It's been a while since I've eaten at PM. The only thing I don't like about it is the mandatory 10% gratuity, is that the way they still do it? I don't need to pay someone 10% to refill my pop, that's why I had kids :rotfl2: OK, just kidding about that comment. The setting is nice at PM.

There is also CBR, which has a pretty good sized sitting area, and Pop is even larger.

I'm fine with whatever the group decides, but agree that we might want to avoid POFQ since it will be handling the POR crowd too.

I am so excited about this upcoming trip! Can't wait to see ya real soon :bounce:

All good points on POFQ...I hadn't thought about the overflow from POR and I know there's going to be a fair amount of marathon folk at POFQ/POR.

I haven't been to CSR in years. I know Pop has plenty of room (and tie-dye cheesecake :thumbsup2 )

Here's menus for both from AllEars:

Pop Century food court menu

Pepper Market food court (at CSR)

Pepper Market does include the gratuity. Is anyone on the team staying at CSR? I'm pretty sure we have a few people at Pop.

Good Morning Mel: How did I miss this thread for so long?

Yes, I'm going to try to make it to the meet up on Friday evening. Kind of depends on what the family wants to do. There will be 5 in our party. I'll plan on being at the W tent after the full, and we'll be at the Illuminations dessert party on Sunday night. I've already paid for that.

I think that's going to be all we can make it for.
