Wish- hurricane or tropical storm

We are big weather nerds- scheduled to go on Wish 09/23 (arriving in Orlando MCO late 09/21 for WDW & 2 days of WDW after cruise) if the storm models pan out and something hits Bahamas or Florida during cruise any idea what DCL will do? Very curious and trying to plan

It depends on the predicted path. They will sail away from the storm -- could be port stops get cancelled or changed. Very rarely would they cancel the entire cruise.

Hi, DH and I will be on the Wish on 9/23 too. I just saw a storm is heading over PR and DR this week and then hopefully heading out to sea towards Bermuda.

Many years ago, we were at WDW and were sailing on the Dream after our stay. A hurricane went up the Florida Coast just before our cruise. I was frantically trying to find out what would happen? Would our cruise be canceled? Well, from what I experienced and learned is DCL never cancels due to weather.
We board the ship it sailed out of the port, seas the first night were extremely rocky. The hurricane did a job on the Bahamas. We could not go to CC, that was canceled. Our ship, the Dream actually docked at Nassau on our CC day, but we could not get off ship. Nassau was cleaning up from the hurricane. We left Nassau that night and came back the next day. A lot of excursions were canceled and you could get off the ship. We stayed on. We were sad about the cancellation of CC, but we made the most of it.

DCL will sail around storms and will change cruise ports if necessary, eg. stopping in Key West back in the day instead of Nassau.

Fingers crossed. I just want to see this beautiful ship. I hear it’s very stable. And I want to get to CC.

We are on 9/19 as well. Our last cruise was cancelled because of Hurricane Dorian back in Sept. 2019. We still haven't learned our lesson yet but hopeful they will be able to sail around it and not have too rough of seas.

The 7 night Eastern Fantasy that leaves tomorrow (or today, depending on when you read this) is now being changed to a Western to avoid Fiona.

This was the second leg of our B2B and it was quite a different cruise from the first leg where the seas were calm. Our server in Palo told us that a lot of people tried to have supper there the first night, but the rough seas meant most of them called it quits before finishing their food. After the first night, it was actually not too bad for motion.

My son, who is 2022 now, could not finish his food. He felt queasy and this guy could eat!
I agree after first night it was fine, except missing CC. I am glad you had a nice first leg of your B2B.

Greetings, I'm on the 9/23 and 9/26 Wish sailings. First time solo. Hoping for smooth sailing........

We often sail late August and have had a few ports changed or canceled over the years, but thankfully never a cruise canceled. We did B2B on the Dream in 2011, as mentioned above, but right after Irene hit (8/28 and 9/1). We did not go to CC on our scheduled day due to clean up, but did make it the next day instead. Ironically the only time we have not made it to CC was February, nothing to do with a hurricane.

One cruise we did years ago out of Port Canaveral had to dock in Miami for debarkation because of hurricane damage or rough weather at the port? Then DCL bused passengers that had cars at Port Canaveral or WDW plans up to Port Canaveral. It actually worked out for our family since we live on the southwest coast of FL. We rented a car to get the family home and I took the bus up to PC to get our car.

They are showing 6-8 ft swells for Wed, Thurs & Fri though in the Bahamas.
