WISH Check- in Week Of May 25

Lyn, I work out at Curves 3-4 times a week, too. While I drive home, I finish my bottle of water (or have a second one) and eat a small apple (that would be 1 point according to Dottie's site) I read last week that if you eat fish after working out, that can help. I don't know if that's true, but I did actually have fish for lunch after my Saturday morning Curves visit. I figure, it can't hurt! lol

Mary Liz, I'm sorry that you are feeling discouraged. I guess the only thing that I'm finding disappointing is that my HIPS haven't lost anything AT ALL!! You have a good attitude with:

I feel better, and I am getting way more exercise than I used to ... and this is a good thing. And it's way too early in this journey of weight-loss to start getting discouraged now.

It'll come. I don't remember, are you journaling? Or keeping track at Fitday ? Fitday is my salvation! I can see at a glance what I am doing, how my exercise is moving and I can plunk in a couple of different things when I get hungry, and choose the best thing for me. Even DD11 is interested in seeing my graphs! Good luck, hun~How did the measure day go??

Well, I managed to maintain this week. Actually, since I'm one of those who weigs in daily, I was able to catch myself in time to keep from going up. I think that the upward trend I was on at the beginning of the week was left over from out vacation. Anyways, seeing a slightly larger # got me motivated to get back into my routine. I'd been really struggling with that since we got home, but hopefully I'm back on track now, and by my official weigh in today I was backto where I was. My PM buddy says she sees a loss on the horizon for me, so I'm going to be really good this week to make that happen.
Congratulations to all of you who have reported losses this week, and the rest of us, let's hang in there & join those losers next week.

Another maintainer here, but I am not complaining. We were away on a 4 day trip to Germany and Austria and I indulged in so rich and hearty food (on purpose...it isn't often one gets to visit foreign countries). We did a lot of walking and I was counting on all the extra to counter the extra eating and it must have worked.

Congrats to all our losers and maintainers!

Okay, although I have a new scale, it's a cheap one & I hate it! I have a hard time trying to figure out my true weight & weight loss.

According to this scale, I have lost 2lbs in 1 week on Atkins induction. :D I just am a little miffed because there are other people who lost so much more. I know, I know, we are all different. I will not give up.

Now, the 2lbs that I lost are as of my joining WISH. I bought the scale a day before I joined and at that time, I weighed 178. Now the scale has me at 173, which would mean an actual loss of 5lbs. I just don't trust it.

Great job for those of you who have lost & maintained. And for those who have gained, it's just a minor set back & I know that you will have better results at next weeks weigh in.

WOW, a lot of great news this week! :) For those of you who have maintained or had a gain, please don't give up! It will happen for you, I know this personally!

I weighed in last Friday and and was at 24 pounds (one more to a new clippy!!). I did really well on the camping trip this weekend and did a lot of walking. TOM decided to visit on Sunday but even with that, I am still at a 24 pound loss this morning. :) My only goal right now is to make it to 25 by Friday.

Have a great week everyone!

Well, I was doing GREAT before my son's 8th birthday yesterday- had pizza and too much frosting but this morning I did not post a gain so I'm THRILLED!!!! I'm holding at 219- I would have choked if I bumped back into the 20's!! But I did walk 15 miles last week and worked out 5 days- so that probably saved me.

Although today is my official weigh day- I am going to weigh in again on Friday- I'm measuring how much I lose per month until our trip in September. So hopefully the sugar and high salt I ate yesterday will be flushed out by then and I'll see the benefits of exercising consistently. The month of April I lost 10 pounds and so far I've lost 7 this month- so here's to working off those last 3 pounds for Friday!!!! I had cheated and weighed in last Friday and was down to 217 so hopefully this is just water gain from eating so poorly yesterday.

Kudos to all the losers who managed to make Memorial day a healthy one!!!

I lost 2 lbs this week, up to a total of four since joining wish! I think that 5lb clippie is mine for sure next week!:bounce: :Pinkbounc With the next pound, I also cros into "healthy" BMI territory, so that will be nice, too!

You are all doing so well! I know this past weekend was a tough one for a lot of us--at least those of us in the US--cookouts, trips, three day weekend, vacations, etc--it is amazing how well everyone did! Wishers have such resolve!

JOmrog--don't be discouraged by only 2lbs on induction! I also lose verrrrry slowly--I lost a total of 5 lbs in induction--which I did for more than 3 weeks! The point is though, I lost even more slowly at first than you did--but those 2's add up! I have lost 4 lbs since joining wish, 20lbs since starting atkins in Januray (counting one major 3 week cheat binge, in which I didn't gain--I still avoided sugar, just went crazy for bread and carbs), and 50 lbs since last July, when my daughter was born.

Atkins does work, even when it goes soooo slowly! Hang in there!

Well....I am happy to report that I hit my goal that I made for myself this week - I wanted to get that 5 pound clippie. BUT......

I HIT SOMETHING ELSE!!!!!! I even weighed again this morning to make sure and it said the same thing.....

I GET MY 10 POUND CLIPPIE!!!!!! I LOST 6 POUNDS THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I was so incredibly shocked when I got on the scale yesterday morning....I had a brat, potato salad and baked beans on Sunday so I was for sure it was not gonna be a good reading. I had no clue it was gonna be that good!!!!! I was only hoping for 1 pound and I would have been happy. But when I got on and it was 6 - I NEARLY FELL ON THE FLOOR!!!!! The best part for me was I didn't go for the second brat like I would have or the second helping of potato salad. So I was very proud of myself.

I do have to say that all this yard work I've been doing must be doing something for me...I spent Friday night, all day Saturday, most of the day Sunday and all day yesterday working in the yard - digging up grass and dirt, hauling 25 pound bricks to build the retaining/gardening wall, hauling 40 pound bags of top soil, hauling and spreading 40 pound bags of mulch, up and down - up and down - up and down. I'm feeling it in my shoulders today but otherwise I don't feel too bad.

CONGRATS to everyone for reporting in today - to those that lost and to those that tried but stayed the same or gained. It was a tough weekend but remember, you continuing is the best thing you can do for yourself!!!!!

Have a great week everyone - now I gotta figure out how to get my new clippie in!!!!! :)

I lost 2.75 this week!!!! This means I made up almost all the ground from the gain I had!!!!!!!! Now just to get the rest!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I just wanted to thank Samantha for her words of encouragement. I feel better now. :D I am not ready to give up on Atkins at all which is the good news.

I do feel better & more energetic. I am having fun trying new recipes & I'm glad that so far I am not missing high carb food.:bounce:

I've lost 4 lbs. since starting WISH two weeks ago. Hopefully, I'll be getting my 5 lbs. clippy next week.:D

Congrat to all the losers!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Well, I am not quite done with my first week of LA Weight Loss but at my checkin this morning, I have lost 5.5 lbs and am just ecstatic!!! I'm excited to get my 5 lb clippie so quickly. I know that the future ones won't come quite so easily but that's okay. That's why we are all here supporting one another.

Since I returned from WDW I have lost 2LBS... ONLY ANOTHER 13 TO GO !!!!:Pinkbounc

I start the Atkins diet next Monday so hopefully will have more to report soon.

I am finding my alcohol tipples at the weekend the hardest to give up. I have no problem with the candy and fries....

I'm thrilled this week to say I'm down 2 for a total of 9!

That 10 pound clippie is in my near future! Thank you for all the kind words and support. I'm doing better but many health issues are still up in the air, at least some of the weight is coming off in spite of it all! :jester:

Well not much to report at this time. Once again I have not been on the scale, but also have stuck to my normal diet. My vaca is coming up soon and I am looking forward to going out and buying new "smaller" clothes that fit good. My DH commented this weekend that a shirt I was wearing this weekend fit me better, and my tummy roll:eek: ( I had a roll:eek: ) is gone and no longer shows...WOOHOO

Maintenance continues. My weight range fluctuates about 1.5 pounds during the week. I only exercised 3 times at the gym due to illness, but I did do Pilates every other day.

I went to my first pool party since reaching goal and wore a bikini. :) I only knew the hosts of the party and when people heard I had recently lost weight, all eyes were on my plate. Something about wearing a swim suit and having people stare at the food I was eating kept me right on track. ;)

This Saturday I am co-hosting a surprise 40th birthday party for a friend. Another pool party so I expect to be very good again.

Have a great week all.

I weighed in one day early and lost 1 lb. I FINALLY can wear my new 15lb clippie, how does it look? :)
I almost feel guilty for losing weight since I had movie candy on Sunday
I mentioned to Holly (Jiminy102) the other week that an old ring fits and I tried it on again and feels a little better! I even looked at my finger and it looks longer and thinner!

I finished my 1st week of Atkins and.....

I LOST 5 POUNDS!!!! I need some bouncy things. Let's see here...:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
Yea, that should do it.

I gained 1 lb last week, so this is a net loss of 4, bringing me to 9 lbs total. Next week that 10 lb. clippie is mine.:D

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I made it through my birthday cake and can report a LOSS of another pound! That's a total of 2 Pounds here! Gone!

Looks like I am getting there. I went to the DIS meet at Towncriers Sunday and managed to walk away from the dessert table with 2 small slices of cake...I wanted more! It was sooo good. I figure I will pay for that and the fact that DS birthday cake is sitting here calling me. I am trying to resist but I know I will weaken. Only a small piece. Hope to maintain this week and next week as we will be in New Orleans next week. Whew, no way can I get through these next days without some bad things. Looking forward to a couple of hurricanes (alcohol) I will do my best and not feel bad if I slip again cuz I am on some sort of track. I will make it down.

Everyone, Glad to read your posts--the good and bad--they all inspire me to keep going.

I stayed the same this week! 9 pounds in 4 weeks.

But I think I went down one size. At least I'm a size smaller in Casual Corner Clothes.:smooth:

Next week I'll get my new clippie
