Wireless Internet

Does FW have Wi-Fi wireless internet available? We are heading down for Christmas and the site we have is doesn’t have cable. Thought the internet would be a good thing to have.

How do you get upgraded? I’ve called but they are always not available.

I don't know about the internet, but to get upgraded from a full hook-up to a preferred site, I called every day, sometimes twice, and checked the website after 11 pm each night. I was finally able to get the rest of our nights on a preferred site. The only chance you have is to be persistent, and hopefully luck out, and call at the right time, just after someone cancels. I read here or somewhere that FW was considering WiFi. Might just be a rumor, but we can hope. That would make the best CG in the country even better.

We use our Nextel phones ... good signal at FW. Slow, but better than nothing.

As far as I know, no WiFi yet. There are phone line dataports in the reception outpost.

I use a Verizon Wireless Card for my puter while at Ft. Wilderness (borrowed from work). They let me do this to keep my email down to a dull roar while on vacation. Otherwise, it takes two days to wade through it all when I get back!!

no wireless even in the MOST preferred sites. I guess the really expensive big rigs have their own wireless stuff however that works.
I agree I have seen laptop campers at the front outpost check in which isn't a nice place at all to try to do serious computer work since it can get VERY noisy with campers and kids.
