Winter Dec 25 - Jan 26 Direct Incentives

Are they still enforcing the rule where if you had done MB before, you cant do it again?
I did MB twice this past year on two different direct purchases. Also e-mailed my guide about CCV and she said MB would be available if I wanted it. So, doesn't appear there is any MB limit anymore. Just has to be at least a 150-pt purchase, I believe.

This would be new to me! I thought you could take MB as many times as you'd like.

I remember in 2023 Welcome Home was limit one per person for the incentive cycle.

Amazing! For some reason I remember a couple years ago it being a one time thing but I may have been mistaken in my understanding. Its just so much easier to sell it back through MB than to try and rent it out. This makes me really happy knowing I can sell back the first year and then trade in some points for sorcerer passes

I find ChatGPT to be a really helpful tool to help me decide when/how much to buy and whether it be direct or resale. Upload point charts, room direct pricing charts w/incentives, resale sites, etc. Then just tell it the details, much like someone may do on one of these boards. Have a quick conversation and it's amazing how productive the time spent is at minimizing the planning/buying process. In my experience anyway.

Do we know if the person referring still gets dining credit? Or is that out the window as well?

Yes. That is still an option. But because there is no buyer incentive we no longer allOw owners to offer themselves here on the DIS.

Haha probably because it read all DISBoards threads (precisely I mean used DISBoards data and other sites for training)

It knows what you feed it, that’s for sure. Just have to narrow the convo to fit the need.
How does it differentiate resale or direct? Does it understand all the restrictions or do you explain it in your initial question?

Oh let’s not go down the LLM rabbit hole 🤣

For relatively niche topics like DVC, the training is going to be heavily influenced by forums like these, so it should get a decent “understanding”. It might struggle with things that are changing over time (like DVC rules).

Oh please, I love going down that rabbit hole!! 😍

I was genuinely curious how it would consider something like resale PVB vs direct considering restrictions and similar pricing 🙈

For sure!

It understands the general DVC framework (resale restrictions, Riviera resale limitations, membership extras, etc.), but it only applies them correctly if the inputs are clear.

- If you say “150 Riviera points purchased direct”, it will correctly treat those as unrestricted.

- If you say “Riviera resale”, it will apply the post-2019 resale restriction (Riviera-only stays).

- For legacy resorts (AKV, BLT, CCV, etc.), it knows resale vs direct is functionally the same for booking, but different for perks.

It won’t assume restrictions unless you explicitly tell it how the points were acquired. The quality of the answer depends heavily on how the question is framed.
