Wine Bar George has an interesting menu. If you are the Dining Plan, how does it work?
What can you choose from the menu?
Boards? Does that count as someone's Entree?
Family Style Plates (for 2-4 people)? If two people want that can they use it as Entree?
I'm assuming that the Chocolate Experience is out for Dessert options.
Finding it hard to see how the Dining Plan will work here.

What are your experience with the Dinning Plan at Wine Bar George?

What are your experience with the Dinning Plan at Wine Bar George?

Ate there OOP 12/31/18. Found it to be a memorable dining experience and a place we will return to gladly. We ate small plates predominately from the special menu offered that night but made a point of ordering off the regular menu as well to better gauge what the kitchen does daily. Shared the whole fish family style plate and a grilled romaine lettuce salad. The fish was well seasoned and not overcooked; the salad could have been a bit more charred but the dressing was perfect. We noted nearby tables enjoying the charcuterie boards and skirt steak plates; all seemed to enjoy what they had.

As far as how this would work on the dining plan (we've done the plan too in the past) My guess would be the family style plates are charged 1 TS per person and two to three small plates equal one TS. I'm sure the wine offerings are restricted by price on the dp. No idea how the Chocolate Experience works or tasted as we didn't have that.
To be sure I'd just call them and ask; they answered the phone readily over the holidays: (407) 490-1800

HTH!

I am following, as I would like to know too. My DD and I are going the beginning of March, and haven't seen anything explaing how this will work for those on the regular Dining Plan.

Has anyone called yet to confirm how the dining plan works at Wine Bar George?
Enquiring minds want to know:).

Family Style Plates are 2 Entitlements
Small Plate are 1 Entitlements
NO Dessert (Unless you use another Entitlement)
One Wine or Soda included.

I was a bit disappointed with NO Dessert.

Do you think it's worth it?

2 entitlements per person for the family style dinner? If so that sound expensive and this might be a venue you'd be better doing OOP.
On the other hand if it's a total of 2 entitlements (or one TS per person) sounds like the pricing is more in line with other 1 TS eateries.
Did you ask them about the regular dining plan or deluxe?
I've never done the regular so am not quite sure what is included. I know the deluxe offers 1 app, 1 entree, and 1 dessert. All plans now include a beverage up to a certain price.

I think we will skip it, and wait for a trip without DDP. Maybe just go have a drink. Definitely not worth using a credit, even though they have an amazing wine list.

We are following this thread closely.
We have just booked there for August & are on the dining plan.
Seen a couple of reviews & so far they have been positive.
So any more info would be greatly appreciated..

I am following also. I am comcidering adding the deluxe dining plan to our December trip and we enjoy this restaurant.
I am trying to follow all the advise I have read and plan my meals and see if the plan fits it not the other way around.
My biggest problem thus far is most of the restaurant we like are at Disney springs.

Most of the TS restaurants at Disney Springs accept the dining plan so does that mean it's a matter of travel distance for you?

We ate there last summer and it is now our favorite single credit restaurant. We shared the skirt steak which was very good, each had a glass of wine and dessert and all were included on the regulad DDP for one TS credit for each of us. This is the first I have heard of no dessert included.

My husband and I ate there on the dining plan last month. Our server had some confusion at first about what exactly was included, but confirmed with the manager. For (1) entitlement, you can choose (2) small plates or one of the smaller boards (cheese or charcuterie). You can get the family style plates, but they are (2) entitlements total, not per person. Dessert is included, but excludes the chocolate experience. For those of age, you can get any glass of wine $15 or under. We had the family plate skirt steak and it was one of the best meals we had our whole trip. There was conflicting information online about what options were available with the dining plan for lunch, but we were able to order a family plate, the same as you would during dinner. We would highly recommend eating here.

This is great! Thanks so much for the info! I wanted to do the dinner because of the family plate but if we can do that for lunch, I can rearrange my plans again! Haha!!

Yes. It's the distance. We usually go to Disney springs twice a trip (more when we stay at Saratoga) but I could come up with easily 4 or 5 restaurants I wouldn't like to make reservations for. We're staying at the beach club on this trip so it makes it harder to getting over there just to eat.
We just returned from a trip last week and spent a fortune on food and drinks so I am running the numbers to see if the deluxe ding plan wouldn't work for us.
I couldn't see this restaurant being a good value depending on what's included. I wish I had kept the receipt but we spent around $150 here last week for 4 glasses of wine, the cheese plate, mac & cheese balls and a 3rd plate that I don't remember what It was.

I was there in March. Alone for a nice solitary lunch while the kids were back at OKW. I don’t have dining plan but do have tables in wonderland which they take for lunch only. I had two appetizers, the dish of olives and the burrata and bread which were both fantastic as well as a flight of wine. It was excellent. You can combine any wines you want in a flight and they just prorate the cost of a reg glass to cover the 2 ounce flight pour. So I got a flight consisting of some high end wines that I wanted to taste and ended up getting s glass if the wine I loved. I spent over 60 just for me after the TIW discount but it was excellent. I probably wouldn’t go for dinner unless they accept the TIW 20% discount on food and liquor.

Got you. We stayed at BWI last trip but since it was an adults only trip spent way less time in the parks and considerably more at DS, LOL. From BWI to DS is about a 20 minutes ride but I think the hotel is the first stop of Disney's Epcot area hotels.

I have always been against using uber/taxi's while at Disney because why pay for something that we can get for free but this last trip I gave in and it was worth every Penney. We still used the busses for direct trips but when we had to transfer busses we took an uber. We were staying at the Polynesian and we has breakfast reservations at boma at animal kingdom lodge, it cost us under $10 with tip to get there in 10 minutes vs the hour it would have takes by the busses.

Wine Bar George is fab. We dine there at least once a trip for the service, wine, atmosphere, etc., without any dining options. If you enjoy wine, go. If you are constrained by the DDP caps either go and enjoy or not.
