Wine and Dine 2015

That's the EXACT Jolly Holiday dress I was looking at!!! OK, maybe I'm back on the Poppins bandwagon.

But ... if it rains? Maybe I should make two costumes? (cue: my husband killing me).

My husband says I should make this one so you and I could be twins!!

With all the inspiration for costume ideas we're going to be one well-dressed group come November!

So I think I have decided that I need to get a parking pass for the CA State Parks so I can keep exploring and then start doing my long runs along the coast at the beaches without paying $15 every time. I had way too much fun hiking the past couple of days - we ended up going to Crystal Cove in Newport Beach yesterday and it was just glorious (also only the second time I have gone to the ocean since I moved to SoCal ... a little mad at myself for that one).

Annnnnnnd I'm so excited right now. I ordered some new running shoes (no store I could get to easily carries the Brooks I run in, gah) and they arrived today! Best mail day I've had in awhile. Now I'm so excited to start running in them tomorrow.

By the way, anyone else own/use a fitbit? My co-workers are going crazy and getting super competitive over their step counts, it's hilarious!
My DH and I got fitbits about 6 weeks ago and have also gotten very competitive with them. They are actually a really good motivator. If I get home from work and haven't dreached my 10,000 step goal I almost always jump on the treadmill or go for a walk. We have the one that clips on your wasteband (or bra which is where I wear it) as I don't like the wrist ones.

So we just got back on Sunday from 5 days at the new Poly DVC and it was wonderful! It was really hot though, around 90 every day.
And I had a great run today! Went out this morning, it was in the mid 50s. I was able to do 5 10 minute miles, which I haven't been able to do in a while!

You make me miss the California coast! I'm from northern Cali and my DH is from southern Cali and I spent the first 40 years of my life there. One of the things I like least about Arkansas is being land locked!

My boss has a Vivofit and all I hear every day is about her steps lol. I was going to get one but now I'm leaning more towards a Garmin watch type one that I can set for several things on the screen at once. That way I don't have to fuss with it when I run.

OMG! those are so cute. :lovestruc DD fell in love with a peacock sparkle skirt. I'm still looking for mine. Did you make the Minnie ears? I've never seen them before.
Thanks!! Woohoo for SparkleSkirts, I wore a peacock one for the half!

We each already had the ears (my green ones are the Christmas ears). My friend made the bows!

I'm jealous of all y'all that can get your men to wear costumes. I keep begging my husband and he's all "my costume is I'm dressing as a guy running a half marathon."

I guess when he wears a beer shirt, it will basically be like a costume for W&D.

I already run in a kilt for all distances 1/2 marathon or higher, so I'll probably play up a Brave theme. Hiker kilts from SportKilt.com are amazingly comfortable. The guys that don't get into costuming are missing out. It's great fun.

For the husband who said he won't run unless someone is chasing him, sign him up for the princess 1/2. Then thousands of women will be chasing him, and probably beat him.

I love the coast! I'm actually from northern California as well, but moved down here for work just over 3 years ago (+2 weeks or so). I miss the other half of the state, but it's not so bad down here.

I love my fit gadgets whatever they be. My Garmin is perfect for my running, but I've loved having the fitbit to encourage me to get out more. Of course today I did something stupid and may have lost it forever in costuming. I'm really hopping someone returns it but it will take a few days before I know a yes or a no. So mad at myself!!

Thanks, I have mine submitted. Now to find me a 10k to run. I already have a 10 mile signed up but it falls a couple weeks past deadline.

I'm waiting until after Tink in a few weeks to submit a time. Hopefully it's a decent one, lol. All of my recent runs have been slower than I actually run for various reasons (like helping a friend get through her first half, etc.) and would prefer not to use them!

Submitted my time from one of last year's halfs. I'm running my first half of this year on Sunday. Hoping I can improve my time. :worried:

Oh, this is just "loverly!"
Seriously, very cute! All you need are the chimney sweeps running with you!

I've looked at that outfit too. It's so adorable!!! That's from the Etsy Iglow Running store, right? She has some fantastic stuff. I briefly tried to talk my DH into the Hercules shirt she has and I was going to hit her up about making a Megera outfit, but decided the cost was too much, and given I lack any skills as a seamstress I know making it myself is out of the question.

We had a group of guys in chimney sweep outfits that we saw multiple times during the WDW marathon in January. They looked amazing. I could never run in the outfits they had on, but man did I admire them for doing it. I thought they looked wonderful. This shot was while they were waiting in line behind us to get a picture with Mary herself.
