Wine and Dine 2015

I already run in a kilt for all distances 1/2 marathon or higher, so I'll probably play up a Brave theme. Hiker kilts from SportKilt.com are amazingly comfortable. The guys that don't get into costuming are missing out. It's great fun.

I have been thinking about buying a kilt for our annual renaissance festival. Think I will look into one of their kilts.

Everyone's costume ideas are fabulous! I love that Mary Poppins dress! Unfortunately when I was younger and my mom tried to teach me to sew I would have nothing to do with it. Wish I had listened to her. I bought a Mickey and Minnie print skirt from Etsy for the DLH and will probably recycle my Minnie skirt for the W&D. Nothing really original, but Disney festive!

I sew - not anything super amazing and detailed, but it's not anything I'm embarrassed by! I make my Halloween costume every year and stuff.

If there was something you wanted, I could probably make it for you if you sent me your measurements and the fabric you want to use!

I'm actually working on my own version of the Sparkle Athletic skirts - it's still a skirt overlay that you can wear over shorts or leggings, but it will have a wider waistband with a pouch in the front/back for storing stuff. I'll post a pic when I get it finished! The skirt is done and looks good, I think! The waistband needs some work, though ... I'll figure it out!

Does anybody know anything about picking up the commemorative items? RunDisney says at packet pick up but will the items be with your packet or is there somewhere else set up at the Expo to pick them up?

Here's the program from last year - check out page 8 & 9! There's a bunch of booths after you get your bibs to pick up extra tickets, commemorative items, etc.:

It appears you flow through there before you head over to pick up your shirts!

If you pre-order them you usually receive them with your packet pickup.

Costumes! I am no wine, ALL DINE. I really don't want to be grey stuff, save that for a few years. Still thinking of dine ideas.
Minnie, love! Cinderella, love. I am my own princess, too. Running skirt and print tee. Being a night race warrants a sparkly glow!
Being a Heather Elizabeth Turnbull, tartan skirt is most appealing. For now, a great distraction during workouts.
@Keels I keep seeing you as Dole Whip, save some fabric for Belle costume!

Got my MVMCP tickets today. I know the party starts at 7pm but remember reading you can gain entrance starting at 4pm. The tickets say 7pm to midnight. Do yall think they will still let people in at 4pm?

Based on the past few years, yes they will still let people in at 4PM. We will know 100% once MNSSHP starts in September. If they allow it for MNSSHP, I'm sure they will do the same for MVMCP.

I've looked at that outfit too. It's so adorable!!! That's from the Etsy Iglow Running store, right? She has some fantastic stuff. I briefly tried to talk my DH into the Hercules shirt she has and I was going to hit her up about making a Megera outfit, but decided the cost was too much, and given I lack any skills as a seamstress I know making it myself is out of the question.

We had a group of guys in chimney sweep outfits that we saw multiple times during the WDW marathon in January. They looked amazing. I could never run in the outfits they had on, but man did I admire them for doing it. I thought they looked wonderful. This shot was while they were waiting in line behind us to get a picture with Mary herself.

I saw these guys too when they were coming up to Mary Poppins

Awwwww. Thanks! That's a super kind offer. I'll let you know if I come up with something clever that I need a seamstress.

Got my POT entered for me and DH. I'll probably just let that one stand. We'd have to speed up quite a bit in our 10K to improve on our half time and not sure I want to work that hard just to move up one corral. ;)

Great run this morning. I'm so happy it's warmer now and I can run in a skirt and t-shirt and be comfortable. It's awesome. 7 miles on the trail and we had a wonderful run. Saw some deer out on the trail which is always fun.

I'm pretty sure this has been asked on here before but I can't find where. How strick are they about POT being a "certified" race? I ran my best half this morning, 2:12:31. Results are posted online so there is a link I can post but it's wasn't a "certified" course....unless the distance recorded on my Nike app could count! :D

That will work perfectly. As long as it's results are available online, just submit it and you're good to go.

I finished my first race ever yesterday! I did a 15K and finished at 2 hours. I'm SLOW obviously but I'm hoping to get closer to the 12mm mark by November! Considering 6 months ago I would have told you I had no interest in running long distances I'm pretty proud to have even finished!

Congrats on finishing your first race! Way to go!

Just finished my first 10K !! Clock time is showing 57:10.89 .. Chip time isn't up yet.. Is there a way to figure out which corral this will put me in? Planning on doing a few more in the next few months and would like to have some sort of goal time to work towards..

Congrats on finishing your first!

That translation to about a 2:07 Half Marathon - according to the Corral Assignments last year, that will put you at a Corral E.
