Wine and Dine is a smaller race than some of the others so only certain hotels will have the transportation for race events. You can see the list at http://www.rundisney.com/travel/disneyworld/Question for you guys! It may be in here and I"m just not looking close enough. I had thought all resorts could be used now for race weekends and the buses would be running for the events. Is this still the case and in effect for W&D? We are staying for 10 days after the race and weren't going to use the race discount and stay at a different resort. Just want to make sure I won't be stranded at 4am![]()

Hello everyone! I am new to DIS Boards and joined because I am training for this year's race! I am so excited and am looking forward to reading what everyone has to say!

The next thing on my list is to find a 10K here in Florida - I agree with some of the comments I have previously read, it's so hard to find ones during the summer here!
I'm waiting on one new race in my area for June to see if it is certified. Other than that, there is nothing until the fall. Ugh! It's a trail run, so I don't know if that will make a difference in my pace. I know the area well, as it's where we walk our dogs sometimes.
How bad will it be starting in the last corral if my pace is around 11-12 min/mile? I currently do between 12-13 min/mile with some hills where I run so I'm thinking i'll be a little better by November. I just started running last September and did a virtual 10K and my Garmin had it at 1:19. I'm not looking to PR, just have a good time and finish. lol Also I don't plan on stopping for any pictures. Any advice other than get to the front of the corral?
Welcome!! If you don't mind me asking whereabouts in florida do you live? I live in the panhandle and am actually driving to thomasville ga for my PoT 10k
Bored at work and just went on to see what people were saying for some entertainment. WOW! Everyone c/o of not wanting to run by themselves.. Yes I get it, I would've been upset too had I not been able to register my boyfriend. I've never run a half marathon but I've run tons of 5Ks and I always make friends during them.. Soo ok it sucks that your friends didn't get in with you, but you're really going to waste $190 and not run because you have to do it by yourself? I don't get it :/
I may be wrong but I want to say only road races are certified by the usatf (which stinks because we have a 10k trail run later in May in town but it's uncertified). Anyone with more expertise know for sure?

Long time lurker, first time poster. Why is everyone so concerned about USATF certification? The post from many pages back in which rundisney replied to a question about official certification seemed pretty clear to me. Sounded to me like as long as it was an official race with online results (no virtual runs or anything like that) you'd be fine. I had no problem with a 10K event that was not USATF certified in previous races.

If he runs a 10 min/mile pace, he'll be beyond frustrated starting in the last corral. He needs to get a proof of time submitted to get him up to where he should be.

Do you think as long as it is time chipped and they post online results that I could do a trail run? This race is literally 5 miles from me and would be perfect. I'm getting confused as to what is accepted and I thought the reply someone got from Run Disney wasn't very clear. Maybe I read it wrong. lol
