Wine and Dine 2015

I am so bummed. Thought I was prepared at noon, and got put into the waiting line to get into the website. I got in at 12:32 and filled it out as quickly as I could so I must have been right around the cutoff. 10 days reserved at Boardwalk down the toilet and those rooms were hard to get also.

I hate that for you! As others said, would a travel agent or charity be an option?

Okay, I need input. I texted my daughter and told her I signed us up for 3:30, as I hadn't asked her ahead of time and didn't want to stop to ask her during registration. She said she walked/limped a 3:00 in her last half (took a tumble on the trail part). She wants me to change it. But I don't think I can without proof of time now, correct? I might do a 10K April 4th that is certified. Her race was certified so we could just go in whichever corral had slowest time of the 2 of us. Is it worth it if it moves us up a few corrals? Or do you think it even would?

I don't think it will matter that you put that time in if she has a proof of time you can submit later. They should place her in the correct corral based on that and not necessarily the estimated time you entered.

We had two of us trying to sign up. We got person #1 registered and then went to register me and it was sold out. I was literally a minute or two late at most.

I feel sick. She really didn't want to run alone and I really wanted to do it with her.

I am looking at the charities. Autism Speaks is a min. fundraising of $1,500. Are most of them around the same amount?

And does that amount include the race fee?

I don't know the answer to that, but wanted to say I'm sorry you didn't get in. I hope you can work things out through a charity.

GET Travel has POP reservations for $119 a night w/2 night stay. They show they still have half spots, 5K is full.

Save the Children is $1,000 and I believe Noah's Light and ASPCA are that amount or lower. That does not include race registration, though.

Other options with lower minimums:
Home for our Troops: $600
Kellsie's Hope: $800
Teaching & Learning Collaborative: $628

:( Can you book through a travel agent? Were you going to stay onsite anyway? It might be worth looking into...

We are a family of 5, we never stay onsite and we have APs. Every site I am looking at says you need to purchase room and tickets from them.

Anyone know how much more it is from regular registration for this option?

thanks. All 3 of these look to be sold out.

Proof of time question for you guys: My wife is using proof of time from a race that she registered for under her maiden name. Is there anything special she needs to do while submitting it?

I'm so sorry. :( Get Sports Travel agency doesn't say it requires tickets, like some of the others do (it just says requires 2 night stay). It might be worth checking on.

Get Sports Travel website shows the registration is $190 plus 2 nights minimum at one of the hotels, POP or CBR.

GET Sports is sold out also. I just called. Are there any other travel agencies that anybody knows of that might have something. What a bummer day but I do appreciate all the well wishes that I have received.

I would call or email run Disney for that--but wait a few days. I bet right now their lines are being hammered by people upset they didn't get in.

They are sold out! I just called. This is so insane.

How about Acclaim Travel? 781-630-2531 - 781-630-2613

The Kids Races are at 97% and Pre-Race Taste is at 85%. This is officially insane.

As @Keels said, the Proof of Time link is really easy to use. You may also want to email runDisney about it, just in case.

So weird. I registered myself. Put me in queue for for like 5 secs. Then called wife like 10 mins later asking if she got in. She said her phone won't let her. So then I signed her up with no problems. Dumb luck?

Maybe we really, really underestimated the power of the W&D...all of the elements (pre race, travel provider, charity) are selling out too within a few hours.

Are we missing a big secret? Is Walt himself officiating this year?
I think it's a few things that I know were mentioned here before...

1. Lack of races at WDW
2. This race being the last race at WDW for the year (so people trying to get C2C, or those who want to do a WDW race - this is their last shot)
3. ToT going away (temporary?)
4. Those who want a do-over after rainy 2014

INSANE!!! I was sure it would sell out today, but in 35 minutes?! Yowza!
