Wine and Dine 2015

Do you just have to have the link for the race finishing times?
Here is what it looks like when I look up my Disneyland registration (I scrubbed out my last name, race, race time, etc.)...it should be the same for Wine & Dine (it was the same for Marathon Weekend in January). The link to this page will pop up under the Runner Info tab on the Wine & Dine page at runDisney.com. You'll need to put in your and your daughter's last name and DOB to pull up registrations.

Note that it gives real-time feedback on your anticipated finish time!

I'm so glad I had the vacation time bank built up, and was able to take today off from work. I'd toyed with the idea of working, and coming home to register, as it seemed it lasted until at least dinner time in 2014. Count us among those who would like to see 1-2 more races at WDW. Perhaps expanding this weekend by adding a 10k, and making a 10k and 1/2 challenge?

What is the reported runner capacity for this race?

Thanks so much! BTW, I really enjoy your trip reports! :)

Last year, there were 14,650 runners bibbed.

This year, we've heard rumors of anywhere from 2-4K spot available to DVC/AP and then another 18K available today for general registration.

Princess had 17,078 for the half this year plus another 7K or so for GSC, so I can't imagine that W&D would be more than that. But I'm definitely interested in seeing what the capacity change is, if any.

Ugh. I hope they keep this one smaller...that and the lack of a challenge (yep, I said it) are something I really like about Wine & Dine.

Reading all the comments from people on facebook about how some of their group got in and others didn't, I'm thinking that for future Disney races that I will be running with others, I might just go straight to the travel agency--they can usually start selling before general registration, right? For this race, my son was already registered because he had a deferral, so I only had to worry about registering myself.
I'm considering trying to get a group together to run Princess--but I don't want the stress of only some people making it in (plus, with the people I'm considering asking--they just won't see the need to get on the computer as soon as registration opens--and then will be SHOCKED when they try to register a few days later and it's full....)

Most Travel providers send out their package emails and start selling bibs right around DVC/AP pre-sale. Honestly, your idea for a group sounds like a good one. Plus, most of them require only 50% down and then the remaining payment about a month before the race - so, keep that in mind too. Helps spread the payment out.

Yay! I took a long lunch and came home from work to register today when it opened, and I am SO excited that DH and I got IN!!!!!! This will be our first RunDisney race. DH has done a half marathon (not Disney) before, but I have only done a 10 mile, so it will be a new challenge for me.

Keels, I can't thank you enough for the link!!!!

I just read all the post from page 36 and I am so glad I was able to register for both races at noon. I was in a panick mode 2 minutes before. I could not open the run Disney website. But I am in and my credit card has 2 charges for both races. And it is expensive once the exchange rate has been added (I live in Canada). But it is Disney.
Also I just read about the commerative jacket and could not open it to see what it looks like. I guess it is already sold out.

I hope jackets will still be available. I didn't want to purchase one without seeing what it looked like.:worried:

Can't even get ahold of any of the travel providers or charities to register - everyone is in the same boat it seems

Take my money Disney!!

I think it's a few things that I know were mentioned here before...

1. Lack of races at WDW
2. This race being the last race at WDW for the year (so people trying to get C2C, or those who want to do a WDW race - this is their last shot)
3. ToT going away (temporary?)
4. Those who want a do-over after rainy 2014

INSANE!!! I was sure it would sell out today, but in 35 minutes?! Yowza!

The word is that ToT removal is temporary due to the construction schedule at DHS. The expansion of TSMM and closing of BLT interfere with a good chunk of the race course. We will all just have to wait and see.

P.S. Anyone looking at booking hotel rooms through RD at a discount, Boardwalk and Yacht club are sold out for race weekend and there are limited rooms available for the other "host resorts" or at least that's what the RD travel CM told my DW about 10 minutes ago.

So glad I booked my hotel room this morning!

They did this to me at TOT too - I prefer yacht over beach for décor - and they list as yacht and beach club, and I get excited, but they will only actually do discounted rooms at beach.

As of yesterday, boardwalk villas were booked but I was able to book beach club. It is looking more and more like I will just stick with that reservation!

Beach Club is also booked. We'll be staying at French Quarter. :joker: It's is officially booked for us. (If you can find an additional $1700, we can stay at Polynesian:magnify:)

I'm a little nervous for Princess too...but I'm trying to console myself because...

1. I don't think many people will register for WDW Marathon weekend AND Princess Weekend...where Wine & Dine is the only WDW race left this year, and
2. A lot of people want a do-over after the monsoon that was 2014 Wine & Dine weekend

That's what I keep telling myself, anyway...

I am hoping to do Glass Slipper as well next year and I know I'll be a nervous wreck before it as well!

Had to get in the car and drive to work right after I registered. I can't believe it sold out in 35 minutes! Sorry to those who didn't get in :(

I had to leave to pick up my son from school right after registration so I just caught up! Had no clue it had sold out so quickly until we got home from a quick run to the market. I'm feeling really lucky today! I should have bought a lotto ticket!

Has anyone attended the Health & Fitness Expo and actually looked around? Is it worth blocking out some time to check out or no?

I've only been to Princess, but I really enjoyed it and we spent the better part of the afternoon there after our arrival.

I'm just hoping there are a few things left since we won't be flying in until Friday afternoon. If Disney releases photos of stuff, I may be hitting someone up to pick up something for me that will be there early. I know for Princess we go there in the afternoon (will be the same time) and everything as picked over. I got a couple of things that I wanted but everything else was sold out.

We got to the Expo around 2 for Princess and there was a decent amount of stuff there, but I am worried about that as well. I was lucky that I had friends at Princess, who picked up a jacket and shirt for me, but that won't be the case this time around. Plus, with no challenge, etc to expand the merchandise on this one and running the headliner I'm nervous about it!

Thanks! I will have a hard enough time without worrying about finishing last or getting swept!

She is looking for it. Ugh I thought I was done stressing, lol! Now I may be running a 10K in 2 weeks just to get a time!

I only have my 10K from Princess. There is one 10K this weekend, but that is the last one on the Gulf Coast of FL until fall. I was 10 minutes slower than my normal time at the Enchanted 10K. Mostly because I couldn't even run for the first mile or so it was so packed. (I started in the second to last corral.) My husband said he doesn't care and he will weave and bob, but he's a faster runner than I am and I think his frustration in the back of the pack would be huge! But if there aren't any races it makes it difficult to have a time and get a better corral. Disadvantage to living in the south I guess. (And in a smallesh city!)
