I still need to buy a gift for DBIL. He lives in SF and goes to Napa Valley to buy wine. He said anything "wine accessory related" for a gift idea. DH and I don't drink much wine, so I'm not really sure what to buy. DBIL is mid-40s, lives alone, will probably never marry and works for Nickelodeon. Tech-type gifts would be good (is there a special wine opener type thing?).

DBIL is very generous with our kids, so I'm willing to spend $100 - 150 on him.
Thanks for your help!

How about a cool electric wine bottle opener? I saw one while shopping a few weeks ago, and it was the coolest thing! Opens up the bottle for you, so you don't have use a corkscrew! I think I saw it at Bergners, but I'm sure they'd have one at any big department store that sells cooking stuff. Maybe try a store that carries merchandise like the Bed Bath and Beyond stores.

::yes::

I bought one last year for an uncle and it was a huge hit! I got it for ~$20-25 at Target.

If you are looking to spend a little more, you can purchase a wine chiller. It's an electic appliance that you place a bottle of wine in and it spins the bottle in cold water until it is chilled. Most work on other beverages as well.

there is a really nice Mickey wine stopper , does he have Reidel wine glasses? you can order them on amazon and they will deliver to him..

or how about a trip to the food and wine festival??

Here's another idea for you: bottle shirts. We got some for DH's sister and brother in law, and they loved them. Google bottle boutique - they're fun!

Wine chiller, wine refridgerator, openers, bottle stoppers, drink charms, glasses - all wonderful ideas for the wine lover in your life! I'll add wine bottle holders, tableside wine cooler, wine stain remover and wine picnic backpack or basket.

Lots of ideas on the Wine Enthusiast website from all price ranges. We were given a wine aerator this year (let's the wine breathe as it's poured, rather than taking the time to let the whole bottle breathe) and have really enjoyed it.... even on the lower priced reds we drink. It was only $40 I think but could combine it with a few other items from Wine Enthusiast and make a really nice gift.....

Thank you everyone for your help! PlutoPony - the Wine Enthusiast website is exactly what I was hoping to find!! Also for the suggestion of the aerator - I ordered one for DBIL and will probably get one for DFIL in the future!

So, for DBIL I got:
The Rabbit Corkscrew 6 piece gift set $64.95
Vinturi Wine Aerator $39.95
Vacu Vin Vacuum Wine Saver $29.95

I'm so excited about each item - and the site has a ton of other great things if he decides to return anything. They offered a 15% discount on orders over $95, so my total with shipping was $134.57 and I had it shipped directly to him.

Thanks again for the great suggestions!
