Can somebody please help me out with this?

Both seem to have much of the same descripton, location and amenities are they together?

Thanks!

Both are house/townhouse/condo neighborhoods located next to each other. Windsor Hills is the newer of the two and still has construction going on. Both are very nice gated communities. Windsor Hills does have a slide at the pool.

A little off topic, but can someone tell me where this complex is located? Maybe what is close that is easy to recognize.

I believe this is it on the
map

Go up to 192 and look around. I also believe the ponderosa is up there, you can search for 'restaurant' near this address.

I just came across Windsor Hills doing some research on where we could stay. We have only stayed on property and am wondering if we will be disappointed. We are a family of 5 and our youngest just turned 4 so we are outgrowing hotel rooms, even the ones with the day bed option which sleeps 5. We would really love some feedback. Will we still feel like we are at Disney.?. Also do they charge for parking at Wide World of Sports-looks like that is the closet and am wondering if we could drive there and them utilize disney transportation since we love being able to not drive if we don't have to. We will do disney theme and water parks and seaworld.

Bannister, it's hard to say if you will be happy offsite. We have done both and love both. If you stay in a nice house in a good neighborhood and do a little research ahead of time (routes to travel, good restaurants, etc.) then you'll most likely have a great time! We enjoy the space, privacy, kitchen (mostly fridge and microwave get used), and washer/dryer.

I think you will find driving to be really easy! Driving to the water parks is especially easy, with close in parking and no waiting for busses. AKL is the closest park, and that is also convenient. You only have to pay once per day, just keep your receipt.

Give driving a chance. We prefer it, although DS loves the busses, monorails & boats like any little boy. :) Even staying onsite we use our car sometimes for the evening or the waterparks.

I really believe that using a rental car to a villa in the 192 area takes LESS time than the Disney transportation via bus. And as for magic, I firmly believe it's the memories you create with your family that add up to magic. I have wonderful memories of my sons while watching Lord of the Rings at Cypress Pointe, and in Dec 05, having a terrific time at Whispering Canyon Cafe with extended family. Tomorrow we leave for another stay at Windsor Palms. I definitely think the $9 parking charge is worth the space and privacy offered in off-site facilities.

I agree. Although I have not stayed here yet (Dec for me), when we stayed at Cypress Pointe, I couldn't believe how easy it was to get to the parks! And the convenience of my kids having their own room so we didn't have to lay in a dark room for 45 mins or longer while the kids fell asleep was PRICELESS. I had always stayed onsite before our last trip, but now it will be a long, long time before I do it again with kids. :scared:

BTW dgaston, I am so jealous that you're leaving tomorrow!!

If you really really don't want to drive, consider getting two value rooms or a Fort Wilderness cabin.

IMO, if you are staying off property, you really have to resign yourself to driving, else it will take you considerably longer to get where you want to go.

For what it's worth, I drive even when staying on property, but that's just a personal preference.
