windshield wipers recommendations?

I usually buy cheapo ones. Are the more expensive ones that much better? I'm finding I don't see as well in the rain. Any recommendations? Thank you!

I use rain-x windshield wipers. They are not cheap($15 or so each) but they last a good long while compared to the cheapos they have to be replaced often or can't do a good job.

It helps me that I apply Rain-X on the windshield itself every so often. Then, any wet stuff beads up and runs off better. Give it a try. It's easy to apply.

I haven't had any better luck with expensive windshield wipers versus the cheap ones. I don't know where you are, but here in the North East, winter is really tough on the wipers, and we need to change them frequently because they freeze and get brittle and just don't do a good job. I change mine about every 6 weeks in the winter, less often in the summer.

A previous poster suggested applying rainX to the windshield, I definitely suggest that. You squirt it on, rub it with a paper towel and let it dry. Once you do that, the water beads up and rolls off the windshield and you don't even need to use the wipers as much, it's phenomenal stuff.

I've tried about a bazillion. My favorite are the cheaper Rain-X ones at Target, they have two different kinds at my store.

I recently bought the Duralast winter ones at Auto Zone and they have done nicely in the crappy weather we have had this winter.

I get whatever brand they sell at Costco; can't remember what it is, but they work fine.

As a 50-60k mile driver annually, I can appreciate the gravity of this matter. For the last 5 years I've been using Bosch Icon blades. No complaints.

The goodyear assurance at Costco seem to be the best buy. They are 7.99 each, they have a 2.50 off coupon right now. Once a year they will run them buy one / get one.

They really are great wipers.
