will you see Farenheit 9/11?

Will you see Farenheit 9/11?

  • Yep, I'll be there as soon as it opens!

  • I want to see it sometime for sure

  • I will see it to "know thine enemy" as it were

  • I wouldn't dream of spending my hard earned money on such tripe!

Well that's a bit insulting now, isn't it?

You forgot to quote the smilie; it was intended in good humor and in the spirit of these wonderful CB debates.

Those of you who are open to the idea of learning something can find out where to see Fahrenheit 9/11 at this site:

Fahrenheit 9/11 Theatres

:teeth:
Most people could also look in their local newspapers at the theatre listings.

As for learning something ... if MM were able to produce a film that actually taught something instead of pontificating his incredibly slanted & warped opinions, then sure I'd probably be willing to see it. Considering that this is little more than another tirade against the current Administration, I seriously doubt I would learn anything from MM that I don't already know.

Anyway, I go to movies for entertainment, not education.

Yeah, his speeches make me laugh like that too.
Sorry you missed my point. My laughter was at the incredible irony of your post

I listen to Bush's speeches even though I find him to be the most arrogant, self-righteous, idiot I've ever met. I'll see the film and then make my own educated judgment.
It's incredibly funny that you've already made up your mind, and are going to a film that -- for you -- confirms what you already believe -- to make your own "educated" judgment.

Let's agree to disagree, shall we?

Fair enough.

Personally, I find the idea that anyone could learn anything substantial from Michael Moore, amusing. But to each his own, I suppose.

This makes no sense. I've never told you what I believe. And, the only thing I've decided for sure is to see the film.

I guess you have to step to the other side of the fence to understand the irony.

Gosh, you must be a very busy man/woman/thing to read/watch/listen to EVERYONE who has something to show/say about everything in the world! I admire you! ;) I, on the other hand, will consider the source, and decide on my own whether or not I choose to devote my precious time to hearing that particular source's input on that particular source's allegedly thought-provoking information. And MM ain't it. I'm interested in opinions I don't personally believe...I will NOT waste my time on an arrogant, spewing ******* who has been known to tell tales, not disseminate facts.

However, from reading your previous posts, I'll assume that what I just wrote, you just read as "blah blah blah blah blah not open to learning something new blah blah blah blah blah."

Enjoy your movies! Have some popcorn on me! :teeth:

Been there, done that, probably won't be going back. :teeth:

(oh, just so there's no misunderstandings, "there" and "that" are in reference to "the other side of the fence" ie: conservative, republican dogma.)

Ouch! Who said I already know it all? I listen, read, watch from multiple sources and then go from there. :wave2:

Exactly what I do when listening to pResident Bush.

I will NOT waste my time on an arrogant, spewing ******* who has been known to tell tales, not disseminate facts.
Sounds like bush and the entire administration.

I don't think it's a matter of "learning" anything. It's a matter of listening to all points of view no matter how much you may disagree with them.

I watch Faux News, I visit the sludgereport website and have even been known to listen to Rush now and then. It's certainly not to be informed of the facts, but because it's good to see how the other side thinks. I don't think that I'll be damaged in any way simply by listening to what someone has to say and I have no fear that listening to the opposition may cause me to question what I believe.

DF is interested in going to see it when it comes out. He liked all of Michael Moore's other movies and he doesn't like President Bush, so it should be interesting to sit with him and watch it. In my opinion, I don't pay to much attention to politics and all that (I probably should, but I don't) so I guess it will be very informative.

I plan on seeing it, probably when it comes out on video though. I thought Bowling for Columbine was excellent. I was glad that he won the Oscar, but I didn't think his speech was appropriate. I might agree with most of what he says, but don't necessarily like his tactics. That doesn't mean I can't enjoy his films.

I picked "I wouldn't dream of spending my hard earned money on such tripe!" but my real answer is that I am not likely to go se ANY documentary like that, whether it favored Conservatives or Liberals. It just isn't my thing. :)

Most people could NOT look in their local papers and find the
film-it's only showing in a smattering of places, usually one in
each large city. SO-the poster was really trying to help. And as
far as incredibly slanted and warped opinions....I find many on
these boards. This is not a movie, it's a documentary film and
it will surely be entertaining to me! Bowling for Columbine had
me laughing so hard I was crying. Michael Moore sees humor
in the absurd and this film should provide us with lots of humor.

No, I will not go and see it.
