I keep checking to see if I have an invitation from Beaumont to make an appointment. My best friend got hers and is being vaccinated on Friday. I told her to buy a lottery ticket because she is very lucky! Good luck!

we gave up on beaumont.
We made an appointment for my 93 year old mom at st josephs and she just got her first vaccine an hour ago.
Beaumont could learn a thing or two from St. Joes.
My nephew took my mom there. He said they're incredibly well organized.

I have been monitoring St. Joe’s website for days and I don’t see anywhere on that site where I can make an appointment. It says to just keep checking. Did you make your mom’s appointment on line?

you call on the phone to make an appointment at st. joes.
Providence is doing it online, but appears to still be in phase 1a until next week.
But it had an online appointment site (with many locations giving the vaccine - that's providence)

St. Joes you either call them. Or you go there and register and they call you back.
I have a friends who's parents went there, registered their names and were called back a few days later.
I think they're scheduled for early next week.

i actually tried calling St. Joes without success (i was calling from the other side of the world, so that may have caused an issue)
The person who got through was my mom's best friend's daughter (LOL).
She got through on Monday i think it was. And made the appointment for today.
I was sooooooooooooooooooo happy and thankful that she did that!!!
I don't know her trick for getting through, since she was also able to schedule one for her mom (she called last week for that one -the appointment is tomrrow).

Maybe try calling all the different st joe numbers until you get through.
By the way, my mom went to the one in Pontiac. It's very close to her (in bloomfield hills).
It's on woodward, north of square lake.
but there are other st. joe locations.
You call the one that you want to be vaccinated at.

as for providence, here's the online appointment link:
https://ascension-c19vac.radixhealth.com/dash/self/#/ascension is the name of the providence network
on this page, you enter "covid vaccine"
it will then ask you for your zip code and age.
then a bunch of places that are near your zip code will pop up with an indication of the availability dates.
But right now they're still on phase 1a
i think i read on the site that they're starting 1b 65 and up next week.

good luck!!!

Thanks for the information, but according to a good friend who went to St. Joe’s on Woodward on Monday afternoon, she was told that they are no longer taking appointments or registrations over the phone or in person. My friend knew people who made appointments that way over the weekend. Anyway, if you go to St. Joe’s website, it clearly states to keep watching the website or if you have a patient portal, you may receive an email about making an appointment.

You are lucky to have made an appointment for your mother. These appointments
are like gold.

yes, everything is changing all the time.
did you check the providence hospital online appointment system?
Providence has locations in southfield, rochester, madison heights, etc.
Actually, they have a lot more than that, but for my mom's zip code, that's what came up.
I'll keep watching that site. I'll let you know if i see a change.

Thanks! You definitely have to be proactive (and lucky) to make this happen right now.
i assume you already have a "mybeaumont" account, right?
if you don't, you can open one for free...
you never know, you might be a lucky winner!!

I'm scheduled. Earliest appointment available was 2/27/21. We are having a bit of a problem in Florida. Since anyone over 65 can get vaccinated, regardless of where they live, people are actually coming in from out of state to get the vaccine. It makes getting an appointment very difficult.

You can't even make an appointment in Missouri yet.

They don’t check for state residence? Here in Georgia, as I understand it, they’re checking driver’s licenses for birthdate, so it would be pretty simple to verify residency as well if people were abusing the system.

I've been trying to get a vaccine appointment for my 84-year old mother here in California. It's difficult to find a place with openings. Most are only scheduling about a week out at a time. Hopefully, more vaccine sites will be opened in the next week or two and it will be easier.

I will absolutely get a vaccine as soon as I am able. I'm a public school employee. I had to work in-person for two months in the fall until we were shut down again. It was scary at times. My special needs preschool students can't wear masks and don't understand physical distancing. We had parents reporting exposures and infections in their households, kids having to stay home for weeks, reports of fevers after they left for the day, etc. We did our best to keep things safe and clean, but it was nerve-racking to be there everyday. As soon as educators are allowed, I will be getting my vaccine!

Michigan DISers.....did you see where Meijer will start administering the vaccine. Just saw that on my local news. Didn't see how they will set things up but just thought that was interesting news. :)

Oh yes, I have an account. Thanks.

i found this as well - at oakland county health (the government)
https://oaklandcountyvaccine.com/appointments/
on that page it says the following:

"Save Your Spot
Oakland County, it’s time to “Save your Spot” in line for the COVID-19 vaccine. Help us understand your interest in a vaccine so we can organize the distribution of our supply. When you are eligible to set an appointment and vaccine doses are available, we will contact you by phone, text or email."

and then there's a link to a form to fill out
.

Got my 1st shot this morning at a really large drive-in location in our metro area. You didn't even have to get out of your car. The whole operation is run like a well oiled machine. Seriously, it's really well done. Got my vaccine card with my follow up appointment in 3 weeks for shot #2. Had to drive 45 min from home for the vaccine, but it was totally worth it. Felt like doo doo this afternoon afterwards. Headache, fatigue, a few muscle aches, nauseous. No fever. Took a 2 hr nap and now I feel better...still tired, but no longer nauseous.

This is one of those rare occasions where I really am glad that I felt like poo earlier.

DH will be able to register next week. His mom wants to wait. We both wish that she'd be willing to register, but she's afraid and wants to wait and see. DH is going to jump on the bandwagon as soon as he's able to.

Thank you. I do not live in Oakland County, so I probably can’t register there. I am stalking the website for my county, but, so far, no luck. I have registered at Meijer, as well.

Don’t know where you are but my DS was able to get an appt 2/9 last night at Camden County College. However, you must live or work in the county.

I live in Camden County. April 6th was the appt. I was given-I'm also going to Camden County College in Blackwood. I was under the impression that April was the earliest time I could get. I'm content to wait. :flower:
