First hand experiences in June?

We are going to go to Japan in 2027. I’ve been looking and doing rough planning already to get things figured out.

My son will be 13 and a hard age to miss much school. So we are kinda stuck with June, since we will go for a full 2 weeks.
I’ve seen June is the start of rainy season and it’s starting to stress me out. This will be an extremely expensive trip and I really don’t want rain the whole time.
I know weather changes ; things are always different etc but I was just curious if anyone here has first hand experience going to TDL the first week of June? Daily rain? Sprinkles? Thunder storms?

Trying to decide if it’s worth him missing the last few useless days of school to get out there by the last few days of May to help my odds.

I haven't been in June, only May and July.

However, rain in Japan has never really ruined any of our days. We might need to change our plans (e.g. swap an outside activity for an inside activity), but it's still Japan and it's still wonderful.

In terms of Disney, the rainy days have been some of our best as it usually means the locals (i.e. the main visitors to the parks) stay home. I don't think that's the case to the same extent now that they don't have annual passes, which obviously gave them much more flexibility just to come another day, but it still seems to help reduce the crowds.

And an umbrella, raincoat and shoes that are comfortable when wet (and quick to dry) are all that's needed to still have a wonderful day.

We've gone in June 3 times now. It doesn't rain everyday and it usually doesn't rain all day. Sometimes it only drizzles. Sometimes it only rains in the middle of the night. That said, our DisneySea day last year was very rainy and we didn't have the right shoes. DD got a migraine and we left early. That's the only day I can recall rain significantly affecting our plans.

I don't think the last few days of May vs the first few days of June will be that different to make missing school worth it. I find it helpful to look at historical data day by day and by time of day. Something like this. It gives a better idea of what you might encounter than total inches since it could all be falling at night when it doesn't affect you at all.

Looks like a waterproof shoe/ quick drying shoe is a must to bring as a safe bet. Thanks

I was in Tokyo from June 1-14, 2019. There were 2 days in that time period where it literally rained all day. The rest of the days were perfect.

Don't pull your son out of school out of concern for the weather. The end of May vs the beginning of June isn't going to be that different weather wise. If you're still able to enjoy yourself with wet shoes or have a plan for swapping socks, etc. then you can still have a great time even in the worst case scenario.

Rain can be heavy for a couple hours but it's rare for rain to last all day. So if you have multiple days, then you're unlikely to have bad weather the entire time.

The good thing about rain is that wait times can be very low. The bad thing is that outdoor shows will get cancelled and occasionally outdoor attractions will close. If you have a bit of flexibility in your schedule and are not planning to buy a vacation package, then you can adjust based on the weather forecast. And if rain is in the forecast, then try to prioritize outdoor shows and attractions when the weather is good.

Instead of avoiding the season entirely, just have a plan for how you'll deal with potential rain.
