Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

I love all he Figment pics. We love that cheesy little ride :)

LJ's comment about his dad is so sad. I hope your brother is feeling happier not only for his sake but for his family's :goodvibes

Ahhh, a morning with Figment! Love it!

Dinner looks pretty tasty at Artist's Palette and hurray for the pool finally being open -- hopefully it stayed that way so you can get a bit more time there!

First time smiling in a long time? Those are powerful words. :(

Nick sounds like a pretty solid college prospect! :thumbsup2

Okay, I totally cheered when I saw the title of your update, but then when I saw the dedication...you just made my day!!!

YES, fine, I know I am not in the popular opinion with my love of Figment, but he's just so fun and happy! How can you dislike fun and happy??

(Did I ever tell you about the trip where I met Figment??

It was a very happy day!)

Continued.......

Stringbean - I really hope you have this outfit. If you don't, you better get it on your next trip. It's pretty cute. Love the color palate.

IMG_3939.jpg

Hahaha I have the shirt, but not the hat!! Do I get any points for that?

Yay for the TH pool being open...but you are not having any luck in actually getting to spend time there!! :headache:

Glad you had a good meal at AP! The CS Raglan Road is Cookes of Dublin (or, as DF likes to call it, "Cookies" of Dublin...even though I continually remind him that there are no cookies there! )

Yay for the family starting to really enjoy Disney!!! It is too bad that they don't make Soarin' shirts, I'm sure they would sell a lot of them!

I'm sorry Stringbean, but I just don't like that ride! :confused3 I think if it weren't for the ridiculously overpowering skunk smell I might try it again, but wow, I hated that part so much I've never been able to give it another go. I like Figment himself, and the ride is just ok, but that smell...
I'm glad your pool was open, even if you didn't get to enjoy it for long!

LJ turned to me and said something along the lines of "I think my dad wants to get a Soarin' T-shirt. He really liked that ride. He was smiling at the end. That's the first time I've seen my dad smile in a long time".

Wow indeed. :( That broke my heart.

I hope the rain rain goes away for IllumiNations!

IMG_3899.jpg

Don't you think one of those Os on the Sight Chart should be a Hidden Mickey?

I really, really enjoyed all your pictures from the Figment ride! The ride is ok- like so many people, I prefer the former version with Dreamfinder, but the attraction does have a special memory for our family. On the last day or our 2008 Fayecation we got Dream FP as we were entering the ride.

:)

So sorry that you didn't get more quality pool time, but it sounds like you made the most of it.

I'm gonna stick up for your Brother and SIL here- my thought is that when you have 4 young boys, ANYPLACE you go without them is an appropriate place for date night.

It sounds to me like SIL may be very uncomfortable with "new" experiences, especially without you around to help guide her. Hence, riding Pirates a gazillion time and returning to a restaurant they had already been to.

Oh boy, the pool was open! Sorry about the rain, but at least you had an adult beverage and some new friends to keep you company!

I think you are a pretty brave lady taking 4 boys to dinner! I do enjoy AP though, I think that the buffalo chicken flatbread is tasty!

Glad you guys got back to the park and back on Soarin'

I was thinking maybe a way to make it "healthier" but not for me I guess. I really have to ask in Oct to be sure. Then again Food and Wine so I will NOT be having burgers. :rotfl2:

Yup - Pat you can ask for the super big binder they have at all the restaurants that list every ingredient in every item. Have you ever seen one of those books? I have. Because I was stuck in line behind someone who requested it and he read it for a good 5 minutes before he FINALLY placed his order. Meanwhile, about 10 customers in the opposite line had ordered. Ugh - I'll never forget THAT book! :faint:

Sounds like the trip really turned a corner. Happy faces, and the pool is fixed. It did rain and you had to break out the ponchos but hey then no body else ventures out.

The rain really wasn't that bothersome. Just the typical Florida summer rain showers - pours then clears.

I really did enjoy taking the boys to dinner. They were so cute.

I hope IllumiNations goes on.

Thankfully, it does and I think it was a wonderful way for my bro's family to close out their trip! :thumbsup2

WPE for a date? Oh that actually makes me sad. I hope they had a nice time though and glad your dinner was relatively painless. I hope you find a way to sneak buying a short for LJ to give his dad.

I was surpised at how much they loved WPE, but then I remembered that they basically never go out to eat. So, yeah, it made me a little sad too because I think they would have loved the 3 course lunch at Le Chefs. I just really wanted them to have a nice 90 minute meal with no interruptions.

I was thinking they could have used their two extra QS meals for breakfast. But they were happy and I guess that's what really matters.

My bro actually found the shirt on his own and bought it. He was quite pleased. :goodvibes

Rained out, just figures! Where was Denny?

Isn't he in one of the pochos in that picture? (Can't see it now, so I'm not positive). But, trust me, we where all there and I wasn't a sherpa!

Happy to hear there were no protein spills from Soarin. :goodvibes

One of my favorite rides, but if I get a seat too far off to one side or the other I can get motion sickness, it's only happened once, but memorable enough to pay attention as to why.

I am so glad that everyone really enjoyed Soarin', especially my brother. He really needed to find that "one speciall ride" and I think he did.

I have noticed that when I have been seated on the extreme edge of the theatre the scream is super distorted and going up makes me a tad dizzy, so I understand how motion sickness is definitely a possibility. Boo!

Looooove eating at Sunshine Seasons. How anyone CAN'T find something there to eat is bit baffling. :confused3 Not to sound critical, but I already pegged your SIL for being one to blame the kids (when she's the one who doesn't want to do something) back at the MK parade. :worried:
Why not just say...'I think I'd rather find something else to eat, nothing is really striking my fancy.' Oooor, I'm pooped, I'm heading back to the room? :confused3  I don't get it.

SS was a good choice because it had been quite awhile since I had eaten there. Really enjoyed that tuna!

I'm not sure why my SIL uses the kids as an excuse. I know that its got to be really hard taking care of 4 boys with totally different personalities. In her defense, I don't even think she realizes she is doing it. I think it just makes it easier for her when she does. But its a little frustrating for me to realize she's doing it and I would never bring it to her attention.

I know exactly what you mean about the Nemo ride. I thought it would be soo much more when we went on it back in 2007. And I adore Nemo!! :worried: That was such a huge movie, I'm surprised they didn't do more with the ride. Then again, look how long it took them to do something major for Beauty and The Beast.
It's like they half "you-know-what'ed it" when they planned it, which is usually the case when they repurpose an attraction. E.g. Stitch attraction.
I'm surprised to hear there was such a line for the ride, I don't think I've ever been in the que when it's full except the year it opened.

I forgot to post the one cell picture I had showing just how long the line was. It was crazy. I'll have to post it with my next update. The only thing I can figure is the ride was down and it good really backed up. :confused3

Let's see......I have no idea what you did next!

LOL - You've got to go back and read last nights update. You probably just missed it. It has to do with one little spark.

I am glad that the pool finally opened. It does however stink that it was so rainy!

Spoiler: we did get to swim in the pool the next morning, so that was nice. I actually didn't mind the rain too much. It made it a great time to check out the hot tub!

A dinner date at WGPE? :scratchin Not sure would be my first choice...even though I do like it. So I guess I agree with eandesmom, kinda makes me sad too. Nice of you to watch the boys. AND WOW... that is a lot of boys. :goodvibes

Yeah - I really wanted them to have a nice TS meal and I thought lunch might work better because it would give them a break from the kids and the park. But they enjoyed their meal and their alone time, so they were happy. They can always try a TS meal next time.

I really think when the 4 boys are around Nicholas they tend to be a little better behaved because they are all so happy to have his attention.

MEK - I figure it's time I comment since I have been lurking for so long!

Love, love, love your TR! It's brilliant. Love the food pics, the ride pics, the people pics, the merch pics - and I love the fact that you are willing to show a newbie family around Disney (albeit with FOUR little boys!) I know they're family, but that's still an incredibly kind thing for you to do. And it's completely hilarious that they want to go again! Of course they do - WDW is a dangerous drug and it's highly addictive!

Anyhow, just wanted to tell you that I am thoroughly enjoying this report. And it looks like I'll be in WDW during you DisMeet (very jealous!) so perhaps if I see lots of ladies that look vaguely familiar I'll say hello!

Awwww. That comment from LJ about his dad makes me a little teary. :goodvibes That Disney magic gets you every time. So happy they seem to be converts. :upsidedow

I'm glad my brother really fell for the magic of Soarin and Disney. I think I knew all along that he would, but I was really starting to have my doubts there for awhile. :rolleyes1 I think its great that Disney has something for everyone and Soarin is the perfect thrill for people who don't like big-time thrill rides. I'm glad LJ got to see his dad smile.

Hurrah for the pool opening but boo to the rain. An adult beverage does ease the "pain" though. ;)

It surely did. By this point in the vacation I was becoming quite the lush! :rotfl2:

Fingers crossed you get to enjoy
Illuminations!!
Spoiler alert - we did and I am so glad everyone got to experience that magic.

I love all he Figment pics. We love that cheesy little ride :)

I like it to. Seriously, its cute and I knew the kids would like it. I can't say I am as big of a fan as Stringbean is, but I do enjoy it!

LJ's comment about his dad is so sad. I hope your brother is feeling happier not only for his sake but for his family's :goodvibes

It was a sad comment and that's why it's hard for me to say anything about it. I am glad that Soarin made him smile and I hope he finds more Soarin moments in life!

Ahhh, a morning with Figment! Love it!

Gotta love a spin on Figment when you're with little kids. I knew they would like it better than Captain EO.

Dinner looks pretty tasty at Artist's Palette and hurray for the pool finally being open -- hopefully it stayed that way so you can get a bit more time there!

AP had some nice flatbread and sandwich selections. And their pastries and cakes and such were really nice and fresh. I also like that you can fill your mug and walk home with something else to drink later.

First time smiling in a long time? Those are powerful words. :(

I know. I wonder how my bro would feel if he heard those words.

Nick sounds like a pretty solid college prospect! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I am proud of him for already going in yesterday and lining up his recommendations and talking to the guidance counselor. It's great that he is getting right on it the first day of school.

Okay, I totally cheered when I saw the title of your update, but then when I saw the dedication...you just made my day!!!

YES, fine, I know I am not in the popular opinion with my love of Figment, but he's just so fun and happy! How can you dislike fun and happy??

When I wrote this update it was totally with you in mind. I mean, come one, is there another DISer out there who likes Figment MORE than you? I think NOT!

(Did I ever tell you about the trip where I met Figment??

It was a very happy day!)

That's a cute picture. I didn't even know there was a Figment character. See, again I learn something new every day. :thumbsup2

Hahaha I have the shirt, but not the hat!! Do I get any points for that?

You definitely get points for that. I love that T shirt. I am not a big T-shirt person, but that one is very cute.

Yay for the TH pool being open...but you are not having any luck in actually getting to spend time there!! :headache:

It's OK - I got to sit in the hot tub and that was nice. I love the hot tub after a soaking rain. It feels right. And we did get to visit the pool again in the morning.

Glad you had a good meal at AP! The CS Raglan Road is Cookes of Dublin (or, as DF likes to call it, "Cookies" of Dublin...even though I continually remind him that there are no cookies there! )

Thank you for refreshing my memory. I actually thought of the name just as I was walking into work this morning. Sometimes my memory stinks at night. Probably shouldn't admit to that! :rolleyes1

Cookies of Dublin - :rotfl:

Yay for the family starting to really enjoy Disney!!! It is too bad that they don't make Soarin' shirts, I'm sure they would sell a lot of them!

I am 99.9% sure that my brother purchased a Soarin T. In fact, I know my SIL asked me if Walmart would have one specifically for Soarin. I told her - no- they just have general ones. I actually think their Disney merchandise is pretty good.

I do remember my bro going back and buying a shirt after we did Soarin in the evening. I hope I'm not imagining that or I am REALLY going to be worried about myself. :rolleyes1

OK - Now I REALLY am getting forgetful, but I don't remember the smell. And if there was one, well, it wasn't terrible. I think you should retry it and report back to us. I mean - come one - research purposes and all that. :rotfl2:

I did enjoy my quick dip in the pool and the hot tub. With no lightining, the pool remained open. :thumbsup2

Wow indeed. :( That broke my heart.

Yeah. Sad. It makes me realize that as adults we sometimes forget to think about how our moods affect our children and how sensitive they are to it. I remember when we booked our second Disney trip. I was in the kitchen jumping up and down and my older son Brian said to me, "mom...I never see you this happy".

I hope the rain rain goes away for IllumiNations!

Spoiler alert - it does and it was a great show that everyone really enjoyed.
Don't you think one of those Os on the Sight Chart should be a Hidden Mickey?

Totally. I remember thinking that the eye chart looked a little boring. That would make a great hidden Mickey. You're hired!

I really, really enjoyed all your pictures from the Figment ride! The ride is ok- like so many people, I prefer the former version with Dreamfinder, but the attraction does have a special memory for our family. On the last day or our 2008 Fayecation we got Dream FP as we were entering the ride.

:)

You got a Dream FP. Lucky! I thought they were the coolest thing ever. I wish they would do that again.

Glad you like the pics.

I can honestly say I never saw the Dreamfinder attraction, but my first trip to WDW wasn't until 2002 so maybe that's why. :confused3

So sorry that you didn't get more quality pool time, but it sounds like you made the most of it.

I always do! ;)

I'm gonna stick up for your Brother and SIL here- my thought is that when you have 4 young boys, ANYPLACE you go without them is an appropriate place for date night.

You have a good point. I really do think they need to get out a little more by themselves. They are just going through the "school age" phase where its run, run, run and go, go, go and never a free minute. I remember it well and I only had two boys.

It sounds to me like SIL may be very uncomfortable with "new" experiences, especially without you around to help guide her. Hence, riding Pirates a gazillion time and returning to a restaurant they had already been to.

Another good point. I just know they loved the food at WPE and since they don't eat out a lot it probably was a real treat. So, as much as I wanted them to go to a TS restaurant, as long as they were happy with their choice its all good!

Oh boy, the pool was open! Sorry about the rain, but at least you had an adult beverage and some new friends to keep you company!

You can never go wrong with an adult beverage and someone to yak it up with. Plus, I love the hot tub on a rainy afternoon. :thumbsup2

I think you are a pretty brave lady taking 4 boys to dinner! I do enjoy AP though, I think that the buffalo chicken flatbread is tasty!

It actually went really smoothly. But I think that's why I wanted to do it for lunch instead of dinner. I thought it would be hard. AP turned out to be a good location because it wasn't crowded.

I ordered that chicken flatbread for Nick the afternoon he wasn't feeling well and I did taste a small piece of it. It was very good. I think all their flatbreads looked yummy with the pepperoni one being the most boring of all the choices.

Glad you guys got back to the park and back on Soarin'

:thumbsup2 How could we not? It was their last night and they had gotten into the grove, so I'm glad we got back there.

MEK - I figure it's time I comment since I have been lurking for so long!

:welcome: nickymaria! Thanks for delurking and joining in! :cool1:

Love, love, love your TR! It's brilliant. Love the food pics, the ride pics, the people pics, the merch pics - and I love the fact that you are willing to show a newbie family around Disney (albeit with FOUR little boys!) Of course they do - WDW is a dangerous drug and it's highly addictive!

I am so glad you are enjoying my TR. Thank you. Yup - I take pictures of everything. But I found that's what I enjoy most about reading other people's TRs.

I was happy to take my bro's family. We took just LJ back in 2009 and I vowed I would get the rest of the kids there as well. At times it was mildly incovenient, but I would do it all over again.

WDW IS a dangerous drug. No doubt about it! :rotfl2:

Anyhow, just wanted to tell you that I am thoroughly enjoying this report. And it looks like I'll be in WDW during you DisMeet (very jealous!) so perhaps if I see lots of ladies that look vaguely familiar I'll say hello!

Thanks for pointing out your ticker. Well, if you are going to be in WDW at the same time, you must stop by. Our meet is presently scheduled for Thursday October 17th @ 1:30 pm Rose & Crown. Definitely see if it works into your plans and if so, pm me so I'll be on the look out for you!

And thanks again for joining it! :goodvibes

I was surpised at how much they loved WPE, but then I remembered that they basically never go out to eat. So, yeah, it made me a little sad too because I think they would have loved the 3 course lunch at Le Chefs. I just really wanted them to have a nice 90 minute meal with no interruptions.

WPE is yummy but not exactly a place I could relax and catch up with my husband on a date. If however you aren't used to going on a date anymore, they can be uncomfortable and a place like WPE a bit easier. Still a bit sad. It is hard to make that time with 4 little ones but so important. Then again for some, a place like Chef's makes them uncomfortable period so as long a they were happy, that's all that matters!

Isn't he in one of the pochos in that picture? (Can't see it now, so I'm not positive). But, trust me, we where all there and I wasn't a sherpa!

I meant at the pool :rotfl2: after all that I was surprised he wasn't at the THV pool with you!

Totally agree, but still wanted them to enjoy a nice TS meal. So maybe I was worried too much about what "I" thought they should have, instead of what they really needed.

I meant at the pool :rotfl2: after all that I was surprised he wasn't at the THV pool with you!

:rotfl2: DoH!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, as much as he complained about the pool he should have been standing in it in the pouring rain! :lmao: Not Denny, he was arguing more the point than anything else. :rolleyes1

We ended up here

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo...

I knew the line probably wouldn't be long

Now where would you get that idea? :confused3:rotfl:

Tired of Figment yet? I thought you might be (well, everyone except Stringbean).

::yes::

Over priced pens

You're at Disney World. "Overpriced" is redundant. :rotfl2:

And guess what? The pool was finally open! :cool1:

:woohoo::cool1:

Once the deluge stopped, my new friends left and I went for a quick hot tub soak. Oh, it felt so nice.

Now we're talking. Sounds perfect after the rainstorm.

He was smiling at the end. That's the first time I've seen my dad smile in a long time".

WOW! Powerful words.

I can't even comment on that. So, I won't.

Oh my.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo...

Don't listen to him Stringbean! :rotfl2:

Now where would you get that idea? :confused3:rotfl:

Can't imagine. :confused3

OK, enough already. I'm definitely not feeling the Figment love here.

You're at Disney World. "Overpriced" is redundant. :rotfl2:

True. That's why I love my WDW Walmart runs! :thumbsup2

About time, right?

Now we're talking. Sounds perfect after the rainstorm.

It really was. It's about the only time I can tolerate a hot tub during the summer, so sometimes rain is a good thing.

I know.

That was really nice of you to watch the boys so your BIL and SIL could eat together. Marc and I have our "date nights" after the boys are in bed. We cook something nice, watch a movie, and snuggle on the couch at least once a week. There have been a couple time my MIL watched them while we went to town and ran errands and that seemed like a really great date! :rotfl:
Anyway, I'm sure they really appreciated it.

Ugh! I’ve fallen so far behind on all the TR’s I’ve been keeping up with! Sorry! But I’m back now and ready to read and catch up, yaya!!

I also appear to have so much to say that I'm going to post with each days thoughts, so that this post isn't HUGE.

I totally get that in the dark, still late night feeling at Disney, the dang black out blinds! I’ve definitely also woken up and been all “wow, my alarm must be about to go off, I’m wide awake and ready to go” and when I’ve checked, it’s only 3 am…oops

That’s a good policy! I’m going to need to adopt that once I have any amount of teenagers with me haha! Thankfully, most people are okay with getting up early now (although I’m still up at least half an hour if not more than them)

Oh my goodness!! As if it took that long to get to the park!! That is the one thing I don’t like about the resorts with internal busses/busses that go through to every “area” of the resort before leaving. That! Is why I love the monorail resorts, and the values, where there’s one stop, and that’s it! Haha.

I really do love the view of the castle from CP, it’s great!!! Breakfast looks like it was a hit, yum! That food is some of my favorite on Disney property, it’s also great to see that everyone, even the teenagers got in on the character fun!

Holy that’s a lot of people for the Peoplemover! I’ve never seen it like that! I never spend any time in Tmrland in Disney, I have yet to ride Space, think I’m going to do it next week, and CoP is definitely on my list of things to do!

I love that while in Disney you can just talk to anyone, strike up conversation with anyone at basically any time, everyone’s so friendly! I’m glad everyone had some time to relax and do what they wanted to do after a busy morning in the parks.

See?! That loop! Drives me insane!! But yay that you guys are getting back into the park! I love it when you’re returning to a park later and you see lots of people leaving, gives me happy thoughts haha.

Oh Splash Mtn, I love you so. I’m super glad everything worked out and everyone enjoyed it! Yum! That burger looks delicious, I always go for the taco salad or such while I’m there, but that looks like a homemade delicious burger!

The Sorcerer’s game looks pretty cool, but I just couldn’t imagine doing it while there are so many other things to do! Plus I’ve heard that if you get to the screen behind another group, you kinda get things spoiled for you, but I am intrigued!

Some great parade shots! I do really like a day in the parks followed by all the night time shows, I definitely skipped a couple last time, and sometimes, it’s just easier to watch them on different nights, spare the hectic-ness of the crowds haha, but it’s awesome to do it all in one! The castle looks so pretty with the floating lanterns on it!

Ugh, that does suck being thrown under the bus! Boo urns! I’m always the first person up on trips, and I do my best to tip toe around until the official alarm goes off, but people have got to realize that there’s only so much space in resorts. Boo.

First - the big DIS meet is on Thursday, but it's the 18th, not the 17th. Don't want anyone to miss it!

Second - poor, wise LJ. I'm glad his dad smiled! He did pick a pretty great ride to get excited about!

Third - date meal - Maybe ok for them to just have a meal alone and if they really didn't know what they were missing...but dang, I know what they were missing and it would have been GOOD!!! At least they went somewhere alone. And you and the boys made out okay too.

Fourth - I wish that when I was there in summer and it rained, it was just a shower. We always had lightning and the pools would close for hours. Lucky you - and some nice quiet hot tub time too!! BONUS!

Fifth - Figment - I enjoy it - don't love it, but then my family starts singing "IMAAAAAGINATION!" at the top of their lungs and makes me nuts!!! Sarah can really sound like Figment too.

Sixth - NO BAG CHECK????? YOU? Wow, I'm impressed! ;) I was just wondering the other day about whether they would want to see a wristlet. Good to know you didn't have to be bothered.

I've never done Figment!!! (Sara can shun me now.)

I'm glad you FINALLY got to go in the treehouse pool (if only for a little while)!

Awww... how bittersweet coming from a young boy. I'm glad your brother liked Soarin' so much! Hope he liked it as much the second time.

Props to ya to running on a sore foot! I know many people who say “screw it” to working out if they’re just “too tired” (aka, meaning they don’t want to, etc) The tree houses look so awesome! I’m in the midst of somewhat planning a bigger trip next year, and it looks like we might end up staying there, which excites me!

I feel like with EE sometimes that cue can get super backed up, and look way worse and more crowded than it actually is…maybe people just stop a lot to look at things and take pictures and it backs it up? I love the adrenaline rush in the morning you get by riding Everest! It’s such a good wake up!

FOTLK is by far my favorite attraction in all of the parks, and the rule is you CAN use flash, which is weird to me. At all our gymnastics/dance things you were not allowed, as it’s not that safe, but in FOTLK they’re flying around and dancing and being all crazy, I guess they just know what they’re doing well enough haha. You got some great pics! The dancer birds are by far my favorite, I would love to be one of them!!

I’ve got to agree with Pizzafari, the pizza isn’t my favorite, any quick service pizza at Disney isn’t really, I had that sandwich last time, and I actually really liked it! Another relaxing afternoon at the pool! Yay! This is also something I want to spend more time doing next trip, I always spend all day in the parks and end up never swimming. Ugh! WPE is so delicious!!

I apparently don’t have as much, so here’s onto the next day too:

RnR is on my list of things to maybe, MAYBE try next trip, I have yet to go on it, and kinda just chicken out of it, even though I do everything else, and most people say it’s easier than everest, haha. I love all the artistic shots around ToT!

GMR is one I’ve only been on once, and it was an emh evening, haha, it tends to not be my first priority in DHS lol. I love TSM, yaaaay!! Ugh. Counter service in DHS…just ugh…I won’t eat anywhere except Starring Rolls, I’ve had that turkey sandwich twice now and it’s just plain gross. Oh my gosh I love the muppets, another one of my favorite attractions in DHS.

That is a wonderful back drop for a pool, so pretty!! That dessert looks amazing!

Wooh! So much reading, I'm going to leave day 6 for another time though, but I'm almost caught up!
