Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

Great update and pictures.
How exciting to have all those trips planned. I can't wait to read your trip report from food and wine. We used up all of our points from this year already (or will when we go next week) and had to borrow points for our anniversary trip.

I am very excited for F&W. Undoubtedly, that will be a joint TR. I'm just not sure if I will have this one done by then. :rolleyes1

I am always borrowing points. I have already borrowed in 2013 and will undoubtedly need to borrow 2014 points for 2013. :rolleyes1

You must be really excited to be one week away from your next trip. :cool1:

:lmao:They want to go again!!!!! I'm glad you suggested Bonnet Creek. I've heard good things about it. You have your points planned like us - we've got three years of trips scheduled in our minds!!

3 years? You're way ahead of me! :rotfl2:

I think BC will be a good option for them. It really does look like a beautiful place and it rarely gets a bad review.

I am excited for you F&W countdown too! Since I'm just a few days ahead of you!! And I get to meet you and Cynthia and hopefully lots of others!

:cool1: It's going to be so much fun to meet DISers that I have been talking to for years on the boards. I am SO excited! :cheer2:

Your beach pictures are great! As for that scary ride - yup, we still have them at our local fairs too. No way in H-E-double hockey sticks would I ever set foot in one!!!

Thanks!

I think they started spinning the ride to get some customers because I did not see one person go in there for the entire 1/2 hour we hung out at the fair grounds. :rotfl:

I like the Muppets - I used to watch their show all the time as a kid. And Sunday night for the Wonderful World of Disney. Now it's so different. Disney channel is on 24/7. Especially at our house!!!

It is so different, that's why that show is so nostalgic for me. I loved it and even though I never associated it with visiting a Disney park, it did set the tone for my admiration of Walt Disney.

Actually, I'm not surprised at all that your brother's family is now so enthusiastic after going with you! They've definitely been bitten by the Disney bug now!!

I'm glad you had a great time at the shore (;))!

Yay for lots of Muppets pictures!! I always notice new details there every time we go!

OMD really is an interesting place to check out!

You are going to LOVE F&W! I really hate that I'm missing it this year so my mind is already working on going next year.

So funny that your brother is ready to go back to Disney! If they really want to stay on-site have them check into renting DVC points.

Your condo at the beach looks awesome! Sounds like you had a very nice relaxing trip. Sometimes I really hate being landlocked, I would love to be able to head out the beach for the weekend every now and then!

I haven't seen the Muppets in ages, it's almost worth going just to see all the detail in the queue and the dump shop. :thumbsup2

Glad you had a nice BEACH getaway! :thumbsup2

Believe it or not, I've only been inside One Man's Dream once!

I can't believe with all of your Disney trips, you've never been during Food & Wine! You are going to have so much fun. I can't believe we are just missing each other by less than a week!! :headache:

Oh Heck- I got stuck on a ride similar to the one pictured. But it was the individual cars and you could either let them swing or lock them in as they went around.
It was my MOTHER who locked it so it would go upsidedown. Also they was a single restraint and well, only went down as far as the largest person would allow so not only was I upside down but I to put my hands up to keep me somewhat in the seat because I was sliding out. :scared1:

Mind you , I don't think we were stuck but we stopped during loading and unloading.

I would only ride the teeniest coasters from then on out. Needless to say I have overcome that fear but I do like to be strapped in tight. RnR has to be clicked in tight. :lmao: More a fear of falling out than going high, fast or upsidedown.

Glad you had a fun time at the beach - we always said beach too and I grew up on LI.
I have a childhood friend that lives by the beach in DE and works at Victoria's at the Boardwalk hotel maybe?

I feel like I am constantly playing catch up and I need to get ahead before I go back.

Too funny about your brother wanting to go back. Looks like a wonderful time was had and they want to do it all over again.

Your DHS day looks like everyone had fun.

Enjoyed your This & That update. You had lots of things to talk about!

I'm glad your week at the beach turned out be the relaxing getaway you were hoping for. Those beaches do look crowded, though. If you ever want a beach that's pretty much empty, come down to the Gulf Coast of FL. There are certain spots here where you can have stretches of sand all to yourself. :goodvibes

DIS meets are always fun, and I bet it was even cooler to do one outside of WDW. We are sort of like a society....:lmao:

How funny that your bro and SIL want to return to Disney next summer. Great for them, but potentially a lot of work for you if you decided to tag along.

A Disney cruise is great, and the Dream just looks gorgeous. That's the next boat I want to travel on, and to be able to top it off with a 2 week stay in the fall....:cheer2: Then again, if you do take a year-long break from WDW, that lengthy visit will be the perfect way to reconnect with the world.:rotfl:

Glad everyone enjoyed the Muppets, always worth a watch every once in awhile. One Man's Dream is such an ideal spot to get away from the heat. You can also rest your feet a bit during the movie. :goodvibes

Holy moly, your family is lucky that you have more patience than I do i would've been a bald bear having to deal with all that LOl,sorry your brother was being a butt that sucks !!My sister is the same way in wdw and so I don't go with her because she drives me insane and i like to enjoy my trips :)

/
HOORRRAAYYYY! For 2 months to F&W!
Too funny about your B & SIL wanting to go back to Disney! That's nice though, hopefully you and he will have more in common now ;)
Wow, I can't believe how busy the beach is! I guess because I live on an island with a low population and a high number of beaches I've never seen crowds like that. Call me spoiled! It does look like a beautiful spot though, that condo is gorgeous, and it sounds like you had a fantastic time!

I adore the Muppets, can't wait to see them again in WDW! I think they might just have the best and most under appreciated theming in there.

I love One Man's Dream. I try to do it every time I'm in DHS, like paying homage to the man responsible for my fun.

Fourth - I am pretty much settled that I want to do the October 27th 2013 four night Dream cruise. It returns on Denny's BD, so we could spend that evening in Disney world and then hang out until we start seeing the Christmas decorations go up. I would love to do a 2 week trip. And if driving to HHI works out well (because Denny and I tend to bicker in the car), I "might" consider driving to Florida.
Let me know when you decide about the Oct, 2013 trip. DW and I are planning on going to our 1st F&W then. Our dates will depend on what is available at BCV. Maybe this time we won't have to cancel and we can finally meet in person! I'm looking forward to your F&W trip this fall as a precursor to our trip next year! :thumbsup2

BTW...15 days until our Aulani trip...but who's counting!! :lmao:

Now I have a special surprise for you. I actually had a DIS meet in Rehoboth Beach. I posted on FB that we were eating at the Green Turtle (which is right on the boardwalk) and I got a message from Chloe777 (Dawn) that she was right next door in Funland.

Of course, I had to go meet her and her gorgeous daughter Willow. Naturally, my friends and Denny thought I was crazy for leaving right before our food was served. But they just don't understand. I told them its like being part of a secret society and when a DIS meet calls you just gotta go!

How cute is this?

bfd466fb.jpg

I was so glad I got to meet Dawn and her daughter.

:woohoo: for your impromptu DIS meet. What a cutie Willow is.

That child is so pretty. I couldn't believe how cute she was in person. :)

Thank you! I feel very blessed to have 2 wonderful(and adorable) kids. BTW DD's name is Meadow. No offense taken. That is a very common mistake with her not so common name.

MEK is was great meeting you. My DH would have thought I was crazy too had he bee with us. Like I posted on FB, Delaware is a small town. ;) We really need to plan that meet after all of our Disney trips are out of the way. ;)

The condo you stayed in looks really nice. I may have to get the info from you for next summer(if we don't buy before then).

Kayaking is fun isn't it? We bought one last year but I don't think it's an ocean kayak. We have only even used it in a lake up in NJ. :rotfl:

Can you believe I have never seen the Muppet show. I really need to rectify that soon.

On my way to the gym so will do a better reply later but did your SIL look at the Fort Wilderness cabins? Their kids are small enough it could be perfect. I'm sure BC would be less and AoA is up there but if they are set with being on property that deck and kitchen is pretty sweet, really great if some get up earlier and don't want to wake the others. I've done the VBRO thing, I'd think gets have a lot more fun at somewhere like BC if it's just them.

I'm really loving your update!!

I think my husband and son would love to do the kayak tours. Me? Not so much. I have a deep and abiding fear of kayak's. I was in one in high school and fell out of it and my best friend scared the heck out of me by telling me there was an alligator behind me. :lmao: Never swam so fast before!! LOL!!

Love the pictures of Mupppet Vision. I love that show. It brings back good memories from when I was a child. LOL!

You are going to have a blast at the F&W festival. It is awesome!! I know that I can't wait!!

Actually, I'm not surprised at all that your brother's family is now so enthusiastic after going with you! They've definitely been bitten by the Disney bug now!!

I am 99 percent sure they want to go back and just talking about it is making me want to go back too. :rotfl: They readily admitted they had a wonderful time and I, of course, reminded them that they only scratched the surface. ;)

AI'm glad you had a great time at the shore (;))!

Shore? Excuse me, did you say Shore? :rotfl2: Yes - we had a lovely time. It was great!

AYay for lots of Muppets pictures!! I always notice new details there every time we go!

I need to find the key. I always forget about it when I'm there and than say, drat - I forgot to look for the key under the map. Next time!

AOMD really is an interesting place to check out!

I love it. I hate that I always rush to the movie because I love it so much. Then I never feel like going back in to look around. It's actually a place where you could spend a lot of time.

You are going to LOVE F&W! I really hate that I'm missing it this year so my mind is already working on going next year.

That's the kind of stuff I do. But at least your trip is right around the corner. September is a great time to go from a crowd perspective. I know I am going to love F&W. Can't wait. ;)

So funny that your brother is ready to go back to Disney! If they really want to stay on-site have them check into renting DVC points.

I mentioned that to him, but they are so not vacation savvy that I can't see them renting points. I would have to hand hold them through that transaction. I don't think they know enough yet to be dismayed by an off site stay and they will have their own car. They will just have to pay for parking.

Your condo at the beach looks awesome! Sounds like you had a very nice relaxing trip. Sometimes I really hate being landlocked, I would love to be able to head out the beach for the weekend every now and then!

I really take it for granted that I live a little over an hour from the beach. I plan to take advantage of it more once both kids are in college since I really don't like the in-season crowds. I would much rather spend the whole month of September there. That will have to be my 2014 fall trip.

We did drive down on NY's Eve this year because the temp was 70 degrees and it was a perfect day. It is nice to be able to do that.

I haven't seen the Muppets in ages, it's almost worth going just to see all the detail in the queue and the dump shop. :thumbsup2

Absolutely. Plus I knew the kids would love it and they did.

Glad you had a nice BEACH getaway! :thumbsup2

You got it right girl! :rotfl: It was a great trip.

Believe it or not, I've only been inside One Man's Dream once!

Have you seen the movie? You must. I even think your boys would like it. It's short and sweet. If my brother's kids can sit through it I know your boys would. It's done very well.

I can't believe with all of your Disney trips, you've never been during Food & Wine! You are going to have so much fun. I can't believe we are just missing each other by less than a week!! :headache:

Nope. It's prime soccer season time, so it is hard for me to leave home in October. It's easier to go in September because the "big" games don't happen until October and I am missing two of the big ones. But I am going to get to every other one, you can count on it.

I will back to finish replies soon, but I have to go a little out of order for a moment. ......

Thank you! I feel very blessed to have 2 wonderful(and adorable) kids. BTW DD's name is Meadow. No offense taken. That is a very common mistake with her not so common name.

Oh Dawn. I am such a goofball. I knew that. But I was just filing paperwork on a patient of mine whose first name was Willow and the two names conjure up the same image for me. I just picture this wide open field with the wind blowing. Sorry, I had a senior moment. going back now to fix that. :guilty:

MEK is was great meeting you. My DH would have thought I was crazy too had he bee with us. Like I posted on FB, Delaware is a small town. ;) We really need to plan that meet after all of our Disney trips are out of the way. ;)

I totally agree. A DE Dismeet would be fun. I think that glennbo (since he works in Delaware) and Captain Oblivious would be up for it. Who else do we know from the DIS who lives in DE, southeastern PA, or South Jersey. Moira lives up near Allentown, so that might be far.

The condo you stayed in looks really nice. I may have to get the info from you for next summer(if we don't buy before then).

It was lovely and I would be happy to forward you the info if you are interested. Its a VRBO property. The owner was very nice to work with.

Kayaking is fun isn't it? We bought one last year but I don't think it's an ocean kayak. We have only even used it in a lake up in NJ. :rotfl:

The one that I used in HHI was not an ocean kayak. this guy was very pro Ocean Kayak because he said they are harder to flip cause you are sitting on top. I'm not sure if that's true or not. I do know that it was very easy to handle and he said it can be used in and out of the ocean.

Can you believe I have never seen the Muppet show. I really need to rectify that soon.

No. I actually can't believe that you have never been there. You must go see it. It is really cute and the queue is pretty cool.

F&W will be awesome!! I've never been either so I can't wait to hear what you think!

Your beach trip sounds great! DIS meets seem like so much fun and a surprise one seems even better!

Aww, I'm loving the One Man's Dream pictures. I've always wanted to see it, but I've never had a chance! Ugh, now I really wish I could see it.

First - Can I get a shout out for 2 months to F&W????????? :cool1: Cynthia (eandesmom) and I have been madly emailing back and forth this week trying to "tweak" our park plans and ADRs. I'll do a separate update on that at some point, but right now I just want to say that I am very excited to be returning to the world in just two months for my first ever F&W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why yes, you CAN give a major shout out! I am SO excited. I love our plans!!! Knowing this was aroudn the corner made it so much less painful to come home from our trip. Not really sure how I'll handle coming home from F&W with nothing official on the books.

Second - Although I don't have a ticker yet, I booked our HHI trip yesterday. Denny and I will be going for 5 nights starting March 17th. I thought our travel buddies from our May 2010 VWL trip were going with us, but they never committed, so I booked a studio for Denny and I instead of the 2BR. (A 1BR is 4 points less a night than a 2 BR, so that didn't make sense). Here's hoping that they don't change their minds a couple months down the road. I was actually going to charge them a small amount of the stay (about $75 a night), so I hope that's not why they bailed.

They don't seem like the kind of folks to bail over something like that but you never know. Many folks just can't plan that far out or commit financially (though in the HHI case if driving it's less of an issue, but there are things like work and vacation days and all that. I had a bit of a downer night on that front with my sisters last night. I have a feeling it may end up being DLR or not at all if we want everyone to go but we will see.

Third - you are not going to believe who emailed me saying they wanted to go back to Disney and was I "in". Yup - that's right - they even signed the email Mickey and Minnie (insert last name). Can you say :faint:. I can only assume by asking if I was "in", it meant was I in with my DVC points. I skirted around the issue until they outright offered to pay for a portion of the points. Even then, I explained that I really don't have enough points for my HHI, a summer trip, and an October 2013 trip. They would all be in my same use year and I really hadn't planned on a June 2013 trip. In fact, I had decided I was pretty much done with summer trips now that I won't be traveling with my kids anymore.

I pointed bro and family in the direction of Bonnet Creek and they are looking at that.

Even though I knew about the email, it's still cool. Gotta love conversions! I admit I've been pretty careful not to offer up points, I don't even really have enough for us at the moment. LOL!

How long would that drive take? If I were you, even though the other couple isn't commmitted, I'd book now. You can always move it or upgrade the cabin (if you aren't sharing). Prices fluctuate a LOT and generally the earlier you book, the better.

So, remember how I told you I developed a fear of thrill rides after hanging upside down in a "Salt & Pepper" Shaker. Well, I was pretty sure they no longer existed. That is - until I saw one of these the other night at a local carnival in Maryland.

81E4F3E9-BA45-4154-BD15-B9EFBC2E14E1-3036-000009DEDC4E3628.jpg

UGH! Those things give me nightmares.

The beach looks beautiful!!!!!!! What a wonderful summer trip. If we end up with DLR then I'd probably try to tie in some beach time. Nice condo too.

I think you've figured out by now that I was taking pictures of EVERYTHING today. Watching the movie in One Man's Dream was no exception. I decided to continue my no-flash obsessive picture taking during the film. If you've never seen it, you really should. It's a moving tale of Walt's life.

You did pretty good! I love that film.
I remember this. We watched it every Sunday night at 7pm

Back in the day.....

IMG_3584.jpg

So did we :goodvibes

Two month dance!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I agree, book the cruise now if you can. The prices just keep increasing the sooner you get to your date.

I also cry at the Walt movie, I just get so emotional when I see him talking about his vision for the future. He was an amazing man.

The inside. It was really lovely in there. Definitely Disney standards

Glad you had a great time at the Beach!

I'm still reading but I had to comment on that pic. My BIL has a vacation house on Cayuga Lake in NY and I have to say he has almost that same fireplace, right down to the stone wall and the Sailboat! I just thought that was neat! :) Ok now, back to reading and looking at pics...

I really need to get back in to see OMD, I haven't seen it since 2004 and I know there have been changes since then. We rushed through because the movie was starting too so I only got to see about 3/4 of the displays.

Love the Muppets queue pics! I read somewhere on her that they are planning to have some more Muppet themed things at HS like a restaurant and maybe another show. Not sure if it is a rumor or fact but that would be cool.

Your future trip plans sound great! That's awesome your brother got bitten by the bug! I really want to see F&W again, we are planning a trip in 2014 so I hope our dates match up with it. We were there for F&W in 2004 but I really didn't know as much about it then so we really didn't take advantage.

I need to find the key. I always forget about it when I'm there and than say, drat - I forgot to look for the key under the map. Next time!

Put it on the list for OCT. :cool1:

I really take it for granted that I live a little over an hour from the beach. I plan to take advantage of it more once both kids are in college since I really don't like the in-season crowds. I would much rather spend the whole month of September there. That will have to be my 2014 fall trip.

I lives 15 minutes and even though I went often I never appreciated it until I moved away. :sad2: SEptember is my favorite timeto go too. Hate the massive crowds.
