Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

Those kids would LOVE a golf cart. :rotfl:

They totally would and I bet the parents would, too! :thumbsup2

It is a cost issue. Everyone wants to go but being able to save up and plan dates that work is a challenge. DLR is easier there is no doubt and would cost quite a bit less and could be done as a shorter trip. So that's appealing. However it doesn't get my dad to Harry Potter which is one of the main goals. I actually sent out some info last night, figure if I send it now maybe we can have a plan by Christmas. If I need to book in Jan, I need to start the nagging process now. Of course, no response from anyone yet but it'll make nagging around Halloween easier. LOL!

The nagging process. :rotfl: That is something I am intimately familiar with. :rotfl: I hope you do have a plan by Christmas and you can start with the nagging as soon as you get back from the October trip. ;)

I figure if it ends up being DLR then we will just invite my dad and mom on our next FL trip.

Because there WILL be another FL trip, so that would actually give you two trips to plan for. That's never a bad thing.

And if you stay Jambo, the standard view will have a decent view no matter what! If they don't go you won't need a 2B anyway right? So it would make sense to wait and book the right size room/amount of points and not worry about any borrowing. At that time of year, I'd think AKV Standard wouldn't be an issue to get at all at 7m.

Exactly, although I would like to book the VWL studio for Denny and I for whatever period of time we are there without our friends.

Ok, I'm with Denny, I'd have a hard time with several hours of no music, especially if I was the driver. 17 hours with what you describe does not sound like a happy way to start a trip. And at the cost of gas....maybe not saving all that much other than the rental car once there.

Good point! But who knows how much gas will be by then. Actually, I'm not sure why I get that reaction to music sometimes. I am fine listening to it for a long time and then all of a sudden I think "enough". I actually like quiet from time to time.

We are going either 10/13-10/19, 10/20-10/26 or maybe even 10/27-11/02. It all depends on when we can get a 1br at BCV at the 11 month window. Your beach trip was great. Can't wait to read more on this TR.

Don't you think you will be able to get it during any of those time frames if you book right at 11 months. I guess owners really do like to snatch them up just in case. I think that's how my BWV stay became available this year. I think people must book, just in case. Well, you will definitely need to let me know because that second and third time frame could definitely work.

Oh yeah, I forgot to post my reaction to your brother and SIL planning another trip to Disney. It was something like this ---> :faint:

You've created a monster.

That was my reaction exactly. I literally almost fell off my chair. I think I have just may have created a monster. :rotfl: Time will tell. :rolleyes1

Okay okay, I'm back! Note to self, don't fall so far behind on the DIS because it's like impossible to get caught up! :lmao:

Yes, I fall into the category of 7am being early. I do wish that I woke up earlier, but man, I just can't get over that hump.

Man, the bus system really does come close to letting you down when you really need to be somewhere, doesn't it? When you don't need them, they're EVERYWHERE! When you need one, 30 minutes.

I love the atmosphere at CP. I think in January it was definitely Farrell's favorite breakfast. I mean, what's not to love about Winnie the Pooh?

The puffed french toast is heavenly. I would go to CP just to get that.

That eyeless Buzz is pretty creepy. :scared1:

Nice score! I LOVE getting stuck on Buzz. :rotfl:

Listen, I'm totally with you for the afternoon break thing. It's so important when you're there in the middle of summer.

I do not understand how it's possible that people don't know how to use fastpass machines. I ask you, do people read anymore?! Seriously. It's not hard to figure out. It's in the map all laid out for you. To answer your question, I don't think they read the map.

Nice that you were able to get on Splash an hour after your return time! Score.

I think it's the fixins bar at Pecos that makes them so yummy. :goodvibes

I'll comment more in separate posts, because my computer has been wonky lately, and I'm afraid of losing stuff.

Hey Mary Ellen! Loving your report! Excellent photos, as usual!;)

Oh my goodness you have me chuckling on this TR. I think it is your funniest yet. You had so many good one-liners I kept cracking up sitting here reading it.

I definitely understand all too well the frustrations of traveling with extended family unversed in Disney park touring. It really is comical though too.:rotfl:

Thanks for showing so much of SSR. Although it is our "home" property, I have yet to stay here. But thanks to your review, I will know never to do so without a car, especially if staying in a treehouse!;)

And thanks for proving that a well-versed Diser really still can come out ahead on the DP!:worship:

Really enjoying following along!:)

Minutes away from a parade, and it's all "I'm leaving?" I don't understand people.

I love MSEP. It reminds me of being little, since it was the first parade at Disney I saw.

Great pictures of the Magic, Memories, and You. I love that addition to the fireworks.

Seriously? "Can you not come in here and make coffee?" :lmao: I would have grabbed the coffee pot and stormed off!

You do need a cinnamon bun do-over! You were robbed....

Yzma, put your hands in the air!!!!

Love the tumble monkeys!

Haha, your fire guy commentary cracked me up. Farrell and I have this saying...."I'm on fire, aren't I?!" (short version, she dropped her cigarette in the car and seriously freaked out and yelled at me "I'M ON FIRE, AREN'T I?!"

You are right that Restaurantasaurus is definitely home of the best veggie sandwich of life.

It is never too early for an adult beverage if you've eaten lunch already. :rolleyes1

Oh dear. Sick from EE? Now I've heard everything. But I have a stomach of steel, so that doesn't say much....

Wait, you can have bell services take you to the treehouses? That's AWESOME!

All right, I'll probably be back later in the week. :wave2:

I think you should let DB and family go on a trip all their own.. then let them do a TR because you know.. we could all use a good laugh!!!

Finally made it back to comment on your last Disney update-

I'm so glad to hear everyone enjoyed The Muppets. Thanks for sharing the photos with all the details. There is so much humor in the preshow and in the props, even if some of it makes you groan!

It also sounds like One Man's Dream was a success. I'm a little  to admit I have not been in there, so I really appreciate when people share pictures from this wonderful exhibit/attraction. . The guys are not interested and in the times I separate from them at HS, it is to see The Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast, and someday I hope to do the Animation Academy.

Okay okay, I'm back! Note to self, don't fall so far behind on the DIS because it's like impossible to get caught up! :lmao:

Well, juding by all your comments I think you did an awesome job catching up. I am very impressed! :thumbsup2

Yes, I fall into the category of 7am being early. I do wish that I woke up earlier, but man, I just can't get over that hump.

When I was in my 20's I used to work in the evening, so 10am was early for me back in the day. Now that I have to be to work at 7am and have raised two kids, that has all changed.

Man, the bus system really does come close to letting you down when you really need to be somewhere, doesn't it? When you don't need them, they're EVERYWHERE! When you need one, 30 minutes.

Seriously, I think that's so true. When I used to stay at the mods or the values I never waited very long for a bus. They were always there. But most of my stays at the DVC resorts have had one episode of a bad bus mojo. What's up with that?

I love the atmosphere at CP. I think in January it was definitely Farrell's favorite breakfast. I mean, what's not to love about Winnie the Pooh?

The puffed french toast is heavenly. I would go to CP just to get that.

If I had a way of wrapping up that puffed french toast I would have surely been tempted to take some for an afternoon snack. I could eat the stuff all day long. CP is definitely one of my favorite breakfast locations. I also love Cape May Cafe. Yum!

That eyeless Buzz is pretty creepy. :scared1:

Nice score! I LOVE getting stuck on Buzz. :rotfl:

It was fun getting stuck just to get that high score and you're right - that picture of Buzz is pretty creepy. :scared:

Listen, I'm totally with you for the afternoon break thing. It's so important when you're there in the middle of summer.

I really, really enjoyed my afternoon breaks during this trip. I was definitely a highlight. I have no interest in park commando anymore. Heck - I've been there so much and ridden everything multiple times. My pool and relaxation time became as equally important as my park time during this trip.

I do not understand how it's possible that people don't know how to use fastpass machines. I ask you, do people read anymore?! Seriously. It's not hard to figure out. It's in the map all laid out for you. To answer your question, I don't think they read the map.

I also thought it was pretty intuitive, but my SIL probably didn't even know there was such a thing as a FP machine so perhaps she was simply just afraid to walk up to one and look dumb. Oh well, her loss on her MK day.

Nice that you were able to get on Splash an hour after your return time! Score.

We really lucked out on that. Maybe some people would flame me for even trying, but the worse that could happen is they would say "No". I really wanted my nephews to ride, so I had to make the extra effort.

I think it's the fixins bar at Pecos that makes them so yummy. :goodvibes

Totally agree with that. I love fried mushrooms and onions on a burger. Such a treat.

I'll comment more in separate posts, because my computer has been wonky lately, and I'm afraid of losing stuff.

I know all about wonky computers. Working on one now. :badpc:

Hey Mary Ellen! Loving your report! Excellent photos, as usual!;)

:welcome: Trish!!!!!! So excited to have you hear joining in. Have you been on hiatus from the DIS boards? I haven't seen you around for awhile. I noticed on Cynthia's TR that you mentioned a F&W trip. When are you going?

Oh my goodness you have me chuckling on this TR. I think it is your funniest yet. You had so many good one-liners I kept cracking up sitting here reading it.

It's easy to be funny when you have good material. :rotfl: I feel a little bad about making jokes about my bro's family, because I really do love them. But some of the stuff was priceless. :faint:

I definitely understand all too well the frustrations of traveling with extended family unversed in Disney park touring. It really is comical though too.:rotfl:

I couldn't agree more. I knew it would be a challenge and looking back all the annoyances seem so minor now. But at the time it was super frustrating.

Thanks for showing so much of SSR. Although it is our "home" property, I have yet to stay here. But thanks to your review, I will know never to do so without a car, especially if staying in a treehouse!;)

I definitely recommend a car when staying at SSR. It is just too darn big for one bus route. It needs two, but I guess that would be confusing. Surprised that you have never stayed there. It really is super pretty and I am looking forward to going back.

And thanks for proving that a well-versed Diser really still can come out ahead on the DP!:worship:

Really enjoying following along!:)

You will actually be suprised at the final numbers when I post them. I came out more ahead that I thought I would. I'm waiting till the last meal to post, but I do have it all tallyed up.

Minutes away from a parade, and it's all "I'm leaving?" I don't understand people.

I love MSEP. It reminds me of being little, since it was the first parade at Disney I saw.

That was one of the most exasperating moments during this trip. She just got up, said she was leaving, and disappeared into the crowd. Just like that. Really????? :sad2:

Great pictures of the Magic, Memories, and You. I love that addition to the fireworks.

That show was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome. I was mesmorized. I am so glad we saw it from the vantage point where we were standing.

Seriously? "Can you not come in here and make coffee?" :lmao: I would have grabbed the coffee pot and stormed off!

That's exactly what I did. But then I had to go into the bedroom with Denny, who I was also mad with for throwing me under the bus. UGH!

You do need a cinnamon bun do-over! You were robbed....!

I definitely do and don't think for a moment I won't be purchasing my very own cinnamon bun in October. It's on the list.

Yzma, put your hands in the air!!!!

Love the tumble monkeys!

Great show! We totally enjoyed it. I won't go another 4 or 5 without seeing it.

Haha, your fire guy commentary cracked me up. Farrell and I have this saying...."I'm on fire, aren't I?!" (short version, she dropped her cigarette in the car and seriously freaked out and yelled at me "I'M ON FIRE, AREN'T I?!"

:rotfl2: OMG! You had me lol'ing with that comment. Every time I reread it I chuckle!

You are right that Restaurantasaurus is definitely home of the best veggie sandwich of life.

It really is. It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good and I wanted one. Never did get it, but I wanted it.

It is never too early for an adult beverage if you've eaten lunch already. :rolleyes1

Good point! That sugar cane mojito did call my name. Nex time, I'll listen.

Oh dear. Sick from EE? Now I've heard everything. But I have a stomach of steel, so that doesn't say much....

I have never heard of people getting sick from EE, but I guess it happens. I never would have guess she was a "cookie tosser", but she avoided all motion rides after that.

Wait, you can have bell services take you to the treehouses? That's AWESOME!

Isn't it. I am so glad the man in the crazy costume at registration told me that. I guess he was supposed to be dressed like a jockie??? Maybe??

All right, I'll probably be back later in the week. :wave2:

You made a ton of progress!

Oh - and I noticed all your tickers - you have some great trips planned missy!

I think you should let DB and family go on a trip all their own.. then let them do a TR because you know.. we could all use a good laugh!!!

I can only hope and prayer that they never find the DIS boards because I would never want them to know I was writing about this trip. But I do think it would be good for them to plan their own trip. We'll see how that goes.

Glad you had a great time at the beach. Kayaking looks fun.

One Man's Dream is my absolute favorite attraction. I could spend hours in there.

Wow, can't believe your brother's family wants to go back. They must have had a great time with you! How neat.

So jealous about F&W. Would love to try it sometime. You girls will have a blast.

Finally made it back to comment on your last Disney update-

I'm so glad to hear everyone enjoyed The Muppets. Thanks for sharing the photos with all the details. There is so much humor in the preshow and in the props, even if some of it makes you groan!

:rotfl2: Groan - what a great way to describe some of those props. Thud! But so much fun and every one really enjoyed it, so I'm glad we all saw it together.

I hope you do get a chance to see OMD one of these days. It's a great attraction and I really appreciate all the detail in the queue and the movie. The Animation studio is really fun. I knew my brother's family wouldn't like it, but I love going in for the drawing class. It's really fun and the drawings make a nice souvie. :artist:

Glad you had a great time at the beach. Kayaking looks fun.

The kayaking was a ton of fun. I can't wait to do it again. I almost want my own kayak, but I am still alittle afraid to go out on my own. I'd have to go with a tandom so Denny could go with me.

One Man's Dream is my absolute favorite attraction. I could spend hours in there.

Isn't it wonderful? Such a hidden gem. I love, love, love the movie and could watch it over and over again. And all the displays are awesome.

Wow, can't believe your brother's family wants to go back. They must have had a great time with you! How neat.

I was pretty suprised, too. But it sounds like they really loved it. I'm curious to see how they move forward with their trip planning.

So jealous about F&W. Would love to try it sometime. You girls will have a blast.

I can't wait to experience it for the first time! It's going to be a blast. I hope you get the chance to do a F&W trip soon. :thumbsup2

I can only hope and prayer that they never find the DIS boards because I would never want them to know I was writing about this trip. But I do think it would be good for them to plan their own trip. We'll see how that goes.

I'm in the same boat with my report. If my son finds out that I am writing about him, and his friends and his trip, there is going to be H-E-L-L to pay. And unfortunately, my younger son know about my report and we are in this delicate dance of blackmail. I would actually love to share this report with some of the teachers who were on the trip, but I can't risk it getting back to Nate!

You could have knocked me over with a feather when I first read that your brother and sister-in-law are ready to start planning another Disney World trip. but, the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. You were such an awesome trip planner and leader that they had a great time and are ready to go back. :thumbsup2

Oh No! You are definitely in a more precarious position than I am. I doubt that my bro and SIL will ever venture into the DIS boards and I don't ever plan to tell them the boards even exist. They don't need to know. Yeah - better not show your TR to the teachers. It probably would get back to him. Smart move.

Kind of hard to believe. But actually, I think my brother has been in need of a place that removes him from the real world and really isn't stressful. As a non-rider, I think he was afraid that he would be sitting around all day, but he found there is a lot to do even without doing thrill rides. And how can you not love the customer service. It really is a no brainer! :goodvibes

Star Tours & More

When I left off last we had just finished watching the movie at One Man's Dream. But now if was almost time to use these

IMG_3589.jpg

Yup - Star Tours FP's, but I think we still had 20 or 25 minutes to kill.

What to do? What to do?

We found a store to chill out in and wait. When I first looked at this picture, I thought "what the heck is that?" and then I remembered the wait for the FP's

IMG_3585.jpg

I guess this colorful Minnie must have caught my eye, too.

IMG_3587.jpg

And poor Matt, doing the wait.

IMG_3588.jpg

With 8 minutes to go we started the walk over. We had to wait about 2 minutes until our actual time was on the clock.

IMG_3615.jpg

While waiting, a nice couple walked up and debated whether they wanted to ride standby and grab a FP.

"Guess what nice young couple? I happen to have two extra FP's right here in my pocket (Obviously our whole group of 9 did not ride)". I was happy to sprinkle a little pixie dust in their direction and they were very appreciative.

Which brings me to something that may be a little :offtopic: Don't you hate when you offer a FP to someone who (1) doesn't speak English, (2) doesn't know what a FP is, or (3) all of the above? You never really know if said person is going to use the actual FP and if they don't, well then what a waste.

3PO - I have been waiting all day to see you and you've snubbed me?

I couldn't wait to get on our Star Speeder

IMG_3594.jpg

But first I had to watch a movie.

I love Star Tours! Such a great ride. Don't remember what sequence we got, but who cares? Fun Stuff!

Hi Gert. Bye Gert.

I think I took a picture of the Tune In Lounge to remind me that I wanted to stop back here for a drink. Unfortunately, I never did get in there. Boo!

Any guesses where our last stop was.........

We had a date with Good Ol' Bo!

One of the fun things about going with your nephews is they fight over who is going to ride to and from the parks with you. Looks like we took home LJ and Matt.

When we got back to the treehouses Denny drove past our villa so he could see if the pool was open yet. It was not. Let's see - so far its been closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Denny was really starting to get annoyed with the pool situation.

My solution - I suggested that we go to the SSR main pool or check out one of the other quiet pools. So we changed, filled our mugs with an adult beverage, and went to find a pool.

Our choice.....

Any guesses which pool this was?

Here's some more pictures to help you figure it out.

We had a nice hour or so at the pool and then it was time to go get ready for dinner. It was such a gorgeous afternoon that it was really hard to drag myself away from the pool. But, alas, we had to get some dinner and then get back and use our TSM FP's.

So where was dinner?

I didn't actually get a picture of our entrance into the Pepper Market because my hands were full. We filled our mugs before we went in. Everyone then went in different directions to pick out their food.

My choice was easy. I heard from Nilla (Jon) that the fish tacos here were really good, so that's what I got.

It looks like I took a bite before I remembered to take picture.

They were very yummy! Good pick! I honestly don't remember what Denny and Nick got. All I can tell you is that everyone's food looked good. Because
we had our mugs they gave each of us a bottle of H20. I walked out with a shopping bag of 9 waters.

But wait, not before I had dessert. Feast your eyes on this.

Fat and Happy, we waddled to the car and made it back to HS in plenty of time to use our FP's

Obviously, all that food drained the smarts right out of our brain because both Josh and I saw our scores drop. Oh well. No biggie.

Next we walked over to Star Tours and caught some scenery on the way.

All in all, today turned about to be a great day. Everyone really enjoyed the park. We all got to hit the rides on our list. I got some quality pool time. We had a yummy dinner. And we all went back and rode TSM and Star Tours one more time.

Up Next - Can We Make it to Epcot without another meltdown?

A great park and pool day! Seems like everyone is getting into the groove. VERY weird and dissapointing about the THV pool situation though. That Congress Park pool looks really big, what a pretty backdrop! Kind of surprised the kids weren't bugging for the main pool/slide but that looks lovely.

I can really see where you needed cars if you were driving for CS at other resorts. Someday I'd love to try Pepper Market, I love fish tacos.

We'll have to hit the Tune In, in Oct.

What a great day! :thumbsup2 So glad y'all had fun at DHS! And I love how you were able to work in some pool time before dinner. Speaking of dinner....that dessert looks delicious!!

Can't wait to hear about EPCOT! :goodvibes

Yay for your FP's finally ripening!! Sometimes those last few minutes can feel like FOREVER!

Your meal at Pepper Market sounds really good! I've never been there before (actually, never even to CSR, but I always want to go!)

That stinks about the pool by you guys! Hopefully it was open at some point!

You got some really nice pics! I'm not a fan of Star Tours. I find it rough! I'm very happy you all enjoyed it though!
Wow, I can't believe your pool was closed again! Some serious maintenance perhaps? At least the pool you did get to was beautiful and sparsely populated!
Ummm that dessert looks heavenly indeed! Got my mouth watering, that's for sure!

It sounds like you had a great day.

Never did Star Tours. Not a big fan of the movie (I know----:confused3) so we never tried it. May have to give the ride a try.

It has been years since we have been to the Pepper Market. I love that place but always forget about it. Those fish tacos look good. May head there in November.

Ok, so we have part of our November trip at Saratoga Springs. This will be our first time there. Do you have any suggestions on what area to request.
