Will you change the way you will book future vacations?

We really want an add on, but instead we got an add on to our family, an add on to house and a new mini van. Oh well in a few years I gues (DH keeps hoping the resale price will go down, hasn't yet.) Somewhere between 200 to under 300 would be good for us.

Ya we have 3 kids currently and are looking at adding another 2 we upgraded the home front and had to get a new minivan that we have had since Jan and are looking to get rid of we have both decided we hate mini vans we want a new SUV instead. Our first purchase was 150 at HHI in 01 and we have added on since then.

The lack of room only discounts will definately effect the way I book in the future - we just won't be going. Time for a new hobby.

I usually book about 5 months out because I have AAA and I want to have the best choice of hotels and rooms. Whenever I book a trip, it is with the knowledge that my price at the time of booking may be the best that I will be able to do. I accept that. It's the same train of thought that I use when I commit to a vacation, if I can't save enough to cover the trip out of pocket, we just don't go, because credit cards are evil. Anyway, I guess it's not really out of the norm to book a hotel 4-6 months in advance. I do this no matter where we plan on travelling. So, I guess that there will be no change for me. I am set in my ways. I will take all the discounts that I can get, but settle for what I can get right now. Maggie

(Side note: Due to the importance of this family gathering because of my mother outlaw's failing health, we are fudging on the credit card rule in order to cover the cost of gasoline only, but the credit card has been prebudgeted to be paid off the month after we return. Who knew that things were going to get this crazy with gas prices this year?!?! :confused3 )

Honestly, what I have done is found a great Disney- specialty agency who does a lot of specialty rates and will only travel to Walt Disney World when I can afford to do so and when the agency offers discounted rates (they discounttickets and room rates AND sell meal vouchers and plan specialty events). This way we can plan ahead and not stress over the cost of our trip :)

We have a GREAT rate at WL this December (during the blackout dates) and are considering upgrading part of our stay to AKL CL for $34 more a night at their discounted prices! I have never seen Disney publically discount their rooms the way the agencies can discount them... :confused3
