Will we have time for breakfast on our departure day?

Our flight leaves at 10:40, and we are wondering if we would have time to eat a sit down breakfast before heading to the airport. We were originally going to take the ME bus back to the airport, but my in-laws are renting a car so I thought we could just go to the airport with them.

We plan to use RAC at the resort so we won't have bags to worry about when we get to the airport, we can go straight to security. If we arrive between 8:40 and 9:00, will that allow us enough time to get through security?

So if we book a 7:30 breakfast at Ohana, would we be done in time to get to the airport? How long does it take to get from the MK resort area to MCO? We are staying at VWL and could just drive over to the Poly and leave straight from there to go to the airport.

I know it is a family style breakfast, so not sure how long it takes for the food to come to the table. We are not slow eaters so I would say we could be finished 30 minutes after the food arrives. We aren't concerned about the characters so if don't see them all, that's fine. I just thought this might be a good option for a departure day breakfast. Would a buffet work better? Or is it cutting it too close to get to the airport?

Yes it is.

Just because your ADR is at 7:30 doesn't meant that you will be seated at 7:30 - you could easily have to wait 15 minutes or so. You need to be leaving WDW by 8:00.

Is everyone flying out the same day/morning? If so, I suggest getting a meal at the airport. Even with no luggage, I want to be walking through the doors at MCO two hours before my flight. Security may be a breeze and I have to kill 90 minutes at the gate, or it may be long and I only have time to stop and get a drink before boarding begins.

Obviously do what's comfortable for you, but that time frame is too tight for me.

I've seen people waiting for ages at ohana (while I was waiting for ages at Kona).

Don't forget that you'll need to stop for gas for the rental car unless everyone is willing to pay the bigger prices to the rental car company to fill the tank.

Ok thanks everybody. I originally didn't think there would be time especially with taking ME. I wasn't sure what time we'd have to leave using our on transportation to get to the airport. I think we'll either eat a quick bite in the room before checking out or grab something at Roaring Fork before leaving. We'll be hungry when we land so maybe we can grab some lunch on the way home.

You can get (just ask for it) an earlier Magical Express bus (such as at 7:00 instead of 7:30) to give you time to get food at the airport to either eat there or carry on board.
