:Pinkbounc Ten of us are going in February...My sister, one grandchild and I have Annual Passes...which is no problem...The rest of the gang...four adults and three children need five day park hopper tickets...which I am buying. My question is...this...I don't know if any of the rest of them will be back to Disney World...but, I may take others in the future...Can I buy
the ten day park hopper with no expiration days....use five of them....and keep the remaining five days to use for someone else I may take in the future? :earseek: :jumping4: :earboy2: Thanks!

That remains to be seen. Disney has always prohibited the transfer of partially used tickets, but due to the way their turnstiles worked there was no way to tell if they were being used by a second party. The rumblings out of the new ticketing program is that all ticket with be encoded with biometric information to help eliminate the booming secondary used ticket market (read: "eBay"). If that comes to pass, then no you won't be able to let someone else use the tickets at a later date.

Disney tickets are and always have been non transferable. From what I am reading, the new ticket system will utilize the biometrics system for all of the tickets. So, each person will have and have to keep up with their own ticket.

Also, the most days on a ticket will remain at 7 days, unless you are utilizing the packages at the resort hotels in conjunction with your room reservation.

How does that work? I've got reservations room only right now and definitely want to use the 10 day option, do I have to change to a package then? This is the first I've heard of not being able to buy ten day passes. Is this something you've heard "officially"?

You would need the Length of stay pass, or what the new ticket is referring to as the Disney Magic Your Way packages which would include accommodations at an onsite Disney owned and operated resort hotel and Magic Your Way base tickets. If you want extras on those tickets your could upgrade them to include the items you want on them, such as water parks, Disney Quest, dining, hopper option, no expiration option, etc (each of these items is an extra charge). In this way, if you are staying for 10 days, and wish to go to the parks on all of those days, you can purchase the package for 10 days.

10 day tickets will also be avalaible for sale (off the package) at the hotels and guest services. It is just not being advertised as an option as the AP would be your better deal.

And to the original poster... NO the tickets will not be transferable (and technically are not transferable now, but they had no way to track it before). The biometric system will be used for all tickets thus encoding them to the person specifically. Also, unlike now where the room cards read the reservation name and regular tickets have no name...the new tickets will have each individual name on them.

There is a lot of stuff being posted here that does not agree with what is posted on sites such as Mousesavers. And -- as I have posted before -- even the CMs I've talked with do not agree (& often state flat-out they do not know) how the My-Way tiks are going to work. Can't imagine every ticket needing biometrics. We've been at WDW a lot & frequently have serious problems using our APs (especially at AK). During our Dec visit computer went down completely & everyone was "out-of-biz." We will be at WDW for 5-wks beginning 27 Dec. I think we will live in "very interesting times."

I am a CM and have been to the 8 hour MYW class... They stated that ALL tickets will be biometric... All parks are adding extra turnstiles as we speak to accomodate this change.

Only hope the biometric turnstyles being added work better than the ones there now. We've had APs for two years and have spent about 11 weeks at WDW during that time. Can't tell you how many times the system has failed to work for us. Especially poor at AK, weak everywhere else. We jam our fingers in, squeeze as tight as possible, CM comes over, jiggles everything, punches buttons, everyone waits, line gets longer behind us. We're arriving 27 Dec for five weeks. Will watch this new deal with much interest.

Forgot to ask: How are four-year-olds going to reach the biometric kiosk? Are they lowering all of them? Or will there be a separate entrance "for kids"?

Sorry, forgot about that... Good question...The Biometric readers will only be for 10 and older (which are all adult tickets so, don't worry they won't be asking a 10 year old for an ID ;) )...

And I TOTALLY agree with you John about the issues with the readers. We have to use them with our cast member ID's and they are quite the hassle sometimes...should be interesting...

When I was there 2 weeks ago, I noticed at MGM and AK that they had construction going on at the turnstiles. I did not go through the front exit of Epcot (we stayed at BWV). I don't recall any construction at MK.

Right now kids do not have to do the biometrics for AP's.

I don't think 4 year olds will have to do the finger scan. When we were there last April we used the FITS passes. Everyone 10 and over(adult tickets) had to do the finger scan.

Scanners were down one day when we were at EPCOT last week. I don't carry my wallet in the parks, I lock it up in the room safe. I have a small zippered pouch I wear around my neck (I bought it at NASA - I've seen a little larger version at Disney). In it I carry my AP, my room key, a credit card (in case Disney's room computers go down), my Drivers License and about $20 in case a kiosk isn't equipped for plastic. It works well for me, it isn't bulky, and would be harder to to steal or lose than a wallet in a hip pocket.

It's always a good idea to have a photo ID handy in case the scanners are down, or in case of medical emergency.

MK has just begun their addition which will be in the center where the giant planter "was"...so instead of having a left side and a right side of turnstiles it will be all the way across...

Right on the money. Forgot about seeing that in early Dec. Entrance at MGM was very confusing as you had to go either to the right or left, go around constuction walls & then to turnstyles.

Anyone else creeped out by all the germs that must be on those finger scanners? We haven't had that much trouble with our AP's, they usually have worked fine for us. I wish they were the plastic card stock.

I just feel an urge to go wash my hands after using the scanners.

Now that you mention it, I do remember construction walls there.

I've never worried about germs. Do you realize all the germs that are on the ride handles & seats? You could drive yourself nuts. I just use some purell before I eat.

OK, the new ticket media starting 1/2/05 will have your name on the ticket and require biometric readings for each park entry to prevent transfer. I still dont understand if or how they can require this for old park (non name imprinted) hoppers. Can you guy's please clear this up for me?
