cant wait for royal pacific resort !!!

Considering Toon Lagoon already has 2 major attractions and a stage production during peak season - I think your thought process is so far ahead in time that you really need to slow down a bit. Even someone like Earl or IOATECH would just laugh at the mere mention of silly names like "Poopdeck Pappy!" Trust us, Toon Lagoon expansion is a long, long, long way off.

Of course, the topic always focuses on Jurassic Park simply because it is the largest island in size, yet only has one major attraction on it.

Oh, and Seuss Landing will NOT be getting the Driving Machines. Those are on the "permanent" back burner.

"The water displaced by the impact of the fireball sent a huge tidal wave off to the right of it's landing point. As the water splashed down upon itself, the distinct sound of a ship's steam horn was heard. As the water receded, Toon Lagoon came into view."

Aw shucks!
No possible "Beetle Baileys' Camp Swampy Water Playground"?

Me Poopdeck Pappy has no room for neighbors! And his ill disposition simply won't allow. Sweethaven takes up a heckofalot of real estate. There is no room for expansion in Toon Lagoon, simply put. Some of the more discriminating enthusiests will note there are a lot of moving parts and FX in this island per square foot, lots to maintain and make ready for opening everyday. Well over 400 individual animated characters/equipment/effects plus extremely complex and dynamic rides to keep up daily.

This island is pretty-well full and complete. My colleague has properly stated that expansion will occur on the other side of the arch. The available real estate belongs to me and my men, but will not belong to Toon.

by the way where does ioa have room to expand?

On Themeparks.com they have a picture of Universal Orlando and by the looks of it they have room for expansion in Jurassic Park on both sides of it. In Lost Continent above where the Unicorn coaster is. In Seuss also maybe Marvel right Between the Hulk and Doom. IOATech the thing you said before the Real Estate belongs to me and my crew are you saying you work in Jurassic park.

The only real top-dollar room available lies between the Ripsaw evac/fire road and JP River Ride, And the area between Pizza Predattoria and Unicorn. Both parcels belong to JP. Yes by that I mean "fresh horses and whiskey for my men" and all that silly stuff. Bottom line is: what goes up, when we put it up, will probably go there.

That's where Mt. Crumpit is.

There is not, realistically the space required for a ride in that area. The seasonal Mt. Crumpet will be there. Expansion will occur in previously mentioned areas.

Hey gang. Jurassic has the best possibility of expansion at this point, two sites are available there. Originally the attractions that were supposed to go there were the Helicoptours ride, which ended up at Disney's California Adventure as Soarin Over California, and another ride called Jurassic Park Jeep Safari which has been put indeffinately on the shelf. There was briefly talk of adding a small attraction in Toon Lagood which thankfully didnt happen because it was a travelling carnival type ride that would have desperately cheapened the whole area. Seuss has room for expansion between Cat and Fish, unfortunately they have left the waste of money and space Mt. Crumpet there, like we needed another attraction like Pteranadon taking up space and irritating guests with its restrictions against age and height, oh well. As for Marvel and Lost Continent, they each had one expansion site on them, both of which have now been filled by attractions which do slightly cheapen those areas as well. Yes Lost Continent needed something "kid friendly" and unicorn fits that but lacks creativity, and as for Storm Force, its a majorly uninspired run of the mill off the shelf carnival quality spinning ride. The large part of the effects package for this attraction, which would have at least made it interesting to watch, was cut while it was being assembled. The general public even seems to realize how useless this attraction is as it never has a major wait, most of the time since it has been added it has been a walk on attraction. The attractions that were originally planned for these expansion areas were very creative and would have fit in so much better with our tag line as a state of the art cutting edge theme park, not the attractions we ended up with which you can find at most amusement parks or carnivals around the country.

Hey UnivOrlGuy,
You mentioned the originally planned rides for the expansion areas were better and more creative in Marvel and Lost Continent. What were those previously planned atractions?

"There is no Fate but what we make for ourselves."

UnivOrlGuy - Since you are obviously an employee, you should realize that you do not represent or speak for Universal in any way on this board. Just a suggestion, I would eliminate the use of "we" in your posts and consider your tone. It certainly doesn't read well for the public to read negative comments about the decisions the company has made coming from an employee.

There are several employees that hang around this board from time to time. We all try to provide useful information without comprimsing anything confidential or being negative of the company.

Hey, Those "cheap" carnival rides gave my 8 year old 2 more things to do while there! And I don't mind riding them myself, mind you! Even Mt. Crumpet blew our hair back, briefly.
With the outstanding theming done at IOA, we don't feel the parks' quality has been diminished with the additions of Unicorn & StormForce. Yeah, put more bells & whistles & flashing lites on 'em and maybe they're even better. Who knows what coulda/shoulda been?
I kind of figure the best possible decisions will ultimately be reached by the old powers-that-be!

Now, who wants to bet Poseidon's Fury will be re-named to something with "Atlantis" in the title? (maybe to coincide with the Disney "Atlantis" movie release?)

yeah i am going next year and i want to go on them rides my brother is to short to ride the coasters and so there aint that many things for him. like on the waterboy movie what we dont know about what the rides were supposed to be it would not hurt us.

cant wait for royal pacific resort !!!
:D :D

Thank you Earl! ... For speaking my peace as well.

Folks, please don't relate the negative focus of UnivOrlGuy's post to all of us at Universal.

Frankly, we're quite proud of the resort we are building and the heightened competition to that small amusement park a few exits down I-4. Yes, I love riding Storm Force and Unicorn is the perfect pint-sized match for Dueling Dragons.

Oh, and on the Atlantis posts:

I wouldn't expect too much focus on "Atlantis" for the new attraction. Remember, Universal is in a VERY good partnership with the Busch Parks and this partnership includes not taking the focus off their "Journey to Atlantis" attraction at Sea World.
