Will tonight be the night our tablemates show up? Our adventure on The Treasure 1/11-1/18

It's Embarkation Day, part one

Before we knew it, it was Saturday morning, and it was finally Embarkation Day! We booked this cruise on opening day, so we'd been waiting a long time to board. There's always something about opening the DCL app and seeing these beauties
Countdown.png
The email that we received a couple of days before said that luggage pick up would begin around 7:30 am. Promptly at 7:30, there was a knock at our door, and we said goodbye to our bags for a few hours. We originally planned on going to Topolino's Terrace for breakfast this morning, but I was concerned about the timing of things, and we cancelled it. This was before I knew that The Riveria was right next door to us, so I wish that we had kept it, we would've had plenty of time. Instead, we headed back to Old Port Royale for breakfast
Saturday breakfast.jpeg
I went with the vanilla pancakes with potatoes and bacon. I was hoping these would have a little more vanilla flavor to them, but they just tasted like regular pancakes. I don't do maple syrup, so they were kind of boring just plain. DH got the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich I had gotten the other day. He said it was okay, but not anything spectacular.

After breakfast, we had some time to kill before we had to meet back in the lobby, so we did some exploring of the area

Riveria Resort.jpeg
I just love the look of the Riveria, I really hope that I can stay here someday
skyliner.jpeg
It was the morning of the half-marathon, and you could hear the music playing over at EPCOT and all the cheering of the crowd. It was really cool to just hear what was going on, I can only imagine what it's like to actually be a part of it. I explored the gift shop a little and found Munchlings on sale. I'm a sucker for surprise items, so of course, I had to buy one
Munchling.jpeg
munchling1.jpeg
This was the one I unwrapped, of course, the one I wanted the least. Finally, it was time to meet our DCL representative, we found out that there were almost 30 of us staying at Caribbean Beach, so there would be no other stops, we would head straight to port. Once our ids were checked, we boarded the bus, and we were off! It was about an hour bus ride to port, unfortunately, I couldn't get a good photo of the ships in port, but soon we pulled into port, and we were seeing the Treasure for the first time!
Treasure.jpeg
We headed inside and checked in, there appeared to be a little confusion at first. They would ask us if you were a member of the Castaway Club and what your level was and then send you into the correct line, but I think one of the cast members got a little confused because she sent us and a couple other groups to the first timers check in line, another cast member quickly grabbed our groups and put us in the other line. Not a big deal, didn't change our wait at all, just kind of funny. We checked in, went through security and then headed upstairs. There was already quite a crowd assembled, and they hadn't called any groups yet. After about 5 minutes of us hanging around, they called boarding group 1. We were boarding group 5, so we didn't have to wait too long. We headed outside to take a quick photo
Treasure selfie.jpeg
And after a few more minutes of waiting, our boarding group was announced, and it was time to board! We passed under these beauties to make our way onto the ship.
Mickey ears.jpeg
While we were waiting in line we were talking to a family with a little boy and we got to talking about the Munchlings, the mom had mentioned they had bought a few boxes trying to find the Pascal Jalapeño Popper, but they didn't have any luck. Pascal happened to be the Munchling that I had got earlier that morning, and I didn't care about him, he happened to be in my bag, so I pulled him out and gave him to the little boy. He was pretty shy, but his mom thanked me on his behalf. It was then finally time to officially board the ship.

Enjoying your trip report! Just wondering why did you decide to do the parks part of your trip before the cruise vs after? Or was that just how it worked out because of work or other schedules?

Enjoying your trip report! Just wondering why did you decide to do the parks part of your trip before the cruise vs after? Or was that just how it worked out because of work or other schedules?
Due to our work schedules, it just worked better for us to go to the parks before our cruise this time. We've done both ways, but I prefer to do the parks before the cruise. We have a tendency to go pretty hard at the parks, so it's nice to have the cruise after to relax a little more.

It's Embarkation Day, part two

Finally, it was our time to board, once our family was announced, we took a quick look around the beautiful Grand Hall. There were a lot of people congregating so it wasn't the right time to take photos, those would come later. But Rapunzel and Flynn Rider were waving to us from above
Rapunzel.jpeg
We discussed where we wanted to go for lunch, we were debating between Marceline and Mickey's Festival of Foods (I think DH wanted some BBQ). As we were making our way to the elevators, we saw the movable Steamboat Willie art
Art.jpeg
I thought it was very cool that the Treasure is in the background of the artwork. Making our way up to deck 11, we decided on our lunch plans, we would be dining at
Marceline Market.jpeg
We went through the stations and grabbed our food
Kari lunch.jpeg
This was my first of many chicken tenders on this cruise, I don't know what it is, but DCL chicken tenders are the best! The white rice was supposed to be a lemon infused rice, but it just tasted like plain rice to me. I also grabbed some pesto orzo pasta, which I loved on the Wonder, but wasn't as good on the Treasure and the black olive focaccia bread, which is another favorite. While I appreciate the reason why the Wish and Treasure have our food served by crew, I also dislike it, my portions of rice and orzo were huge, I wasn't able to finish either and I really hate wasting food. If I served myself, my portions would be a lot smaller. When I went to the "kids station" to grab my chicken tenders, I also grabbed a fruit cup
fruit cup.jpeg
It just looked so cute, and the fruit tasted very fresh! DH found the charcuterie boards and grabbed one for us to split
Charcuterie.jpeg
I loved the tomato and mozzarella and the olives! DH's first plate
Bill lunch.jpeg
He started with the rib roast, mashed potatoes and focaccia bread. He was hoping for some aus jus, but couldn't find any, hence the empty cup. He quickly polished this off and went to the seafood station to grab some shrimp and crab...and was gone for a really long time. We were seated right by this station, and I saw him just standing there, but watching others come and go and couldn't figure out what was up. He finally came back and let me know that they had already run out of the crab claws. He was told that some would be on its way shortly, but he waited almost 10 minutes and still no crab, he finally came back to the table with is pile of shrimp and polished that off. After finishing lunch, we headed back down to deck 5 and to Senses Spa to tour the facility. We walked through different treatment areas and were told about the different treatments that were offered and of course they took us to the Rainforest Room
fridgaderium.jpeg
Rainforest outside.jpeg
Rainforest hot tub.jpeg
The Rainforest Room is gorgeous, but I would never spend enough time here to justify the cost. I had already booked a massage for the next day, but man, were they really pushing for me to book extra treatments. I played the "I gotta ask my husband" card and they finally left me alone. DH took a nasty fall a couple of weeks prior shoveling our driveway and he bruised the tendon in his shoulder, he's had good luck with the acupuncture on board during previous cruises, so he was able to book a session for the next day. Then we got more, "Do you want to book anything else" and didn't want to take no for an answer. I found it really off-putting, but we were finally able to escape, we had a lot more of the ship to explore.

It's Embarkation Day, part three

We decided it was time to check out some of the open houses, since we were already on Deck 5, we decided to head to the aft of the ship and check out Edge
Edge1.jpeg
Edge.jpeg
I really miss Vinylmations, they were my favorite thing to collect at the parks, we bought so many of them on each of our trips. My collection still lives on our entertainment center, I really wish I could continue adding to it. After Edge, it was time to check out the Oceaneer's Club. While on our way, we saw that Genie was now greeting in the Grand Hall
Genie.jpeg
I also got my first real look at the chandelier
Lamp.jpeg
I do love how all the ships are represented, it's really beautiful. We took the slide from deck 3 into the Oceaneer's Club (how can you pass up that opportunity) and washed our hands, (I'll say it again, I love the hand washing stations and I wish they were all over the ship, not just in the club), it was then time to explore
Oceaneers club3.jpeg
Right as we headed in, Mickey and Minnie were leading a "Stretch Break", it was very cute to watch. We then explored the other rooms
Oceaneers club4.jpeg
I thought this model of the Treasure was really cool
Oceaneers club.jpeg
Oceaneers club1.jpeg
Oceaneers club2.jpeg
The Star Wars geek in me spent the most time in this room, I just love the theming! We also took a tour of the nursery
Nursery.jpeg
This looked like such a sweet area, there was also a little train that moved through the play area that was absolutely adorable!

It's Embarkation Day, part four

I think I might be a little out of order, but at some point, we headed to our room to drop our stuff off. We were in room 7149, a standard inside stateroom. We're at the point now where we just get an inside stateroom, saves us money for excursions, drinks, etc. The only time we spend in our room is to sleep and shower, we last got a verandah on the Wish and we were barely out there. DH also says he gets the best sleep in the inside staterooms because there is no light coming in anywhere. Our room was Aladdin themed and worked really well for us
Room view.jpeg
Our room was located in the aft, but not all the way down, we were just a short walk to the aft elevators. A couple of things that were a little different about our room. First, we were the only inside stateroom down our hallway. I'm not sure what we were in between, but it was kind of funny that we only had neighbors across from us, not next to us. Second, we had our very own hallway to get into our room, I didn't take a photo, but if you watch our vlog, you'll see it. When we opened the door, we had about a 10–12-foot hallway to walk down and then our room itself was a perfect square. The hallway made us feel a little bougie! It was then time to head to the muster drill, our muster station was in Worlds of Marvel, headed there we passed by this piece of artwork
art1.jpeg
I thought it was very beautiful, and we learned the next day in the ship tour that it was the Treasure joining the rest of the fleet!

Worlds of Marvel was kind of a cluster when we got there, one category of stations were to the left, the other were to the right. The line to the left was at a complete stop, so of course you know that we were in that line🤣 Finally we started moving and for our muster station, we even got a sneak peek of the serving stations, which was huge! Finally, we got checked in, seated and thankfully, everyone was present and accounted for, so there wasn't a lot of waiting and then we were released to climb several flights of stairs to find a spot for "Let's Set Sail". DH and I got a great spot behind one of the pools and I decided to grab our first drink of the day to watch the show
drink of the day selfie.jpeg
I loved this party, it is probably my favorite, loved the characters, loved the music. Just writing "Let's set Sail" made me remember the song that I now can't stop singing to myself! It was during the party that we were introduced to our adventurers, Coriander and Sage. We also found out that Carly was our Cruise Director, we've had her several times now and it was nice to see a familiar face. As always, I teared up a little when the ship horn played, "When you Wish Upon a Star" and Carly announced that we were officially on vacation. After the party, we wandered for a few minutes and then headed to our room to do some unpacking before we headed to our first tasting of our trip. Where were we headed?
The Rose.jpeg
We headed up to deck 12 and to Palo Steakhouse for Prima Notte. We experienced this the first time during our Alaska cruise on the Wonder and were excited to book again. The set up was a little different, on the Wonder, we were in Palo's private dining room, there were only 12 of us and it was very intimate. On the Treasure, we were in the back of the restaurant, but not in the private dining room and there were probably double the people. While we were seated, we were poured a glass of BellaVista sparkling wine. I'm not including any photos of the individual glasses of wine, we were seated at a 4-top with another couple and there were so many glasses on our table that none of my drink photos turned out. Our sommelier let us know that the BellaVista is a mix of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It was then time for our first pairing
Tuna.jpeg
This was the yellowfish tuna with an apple, cranberry, and apricot relish and it was served with Vintage Tunina, a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This little bite of tuna was just heaven, and it paired well with the wine. Next up
gnocchi.jpeg
The pesto gnocchi served with Chianti Lassico. The gnocchi was perfect, they serve this on the Palo Steakhouse dinner menu, and I should've ordered it when we had dinner (but I didn't). I wasn't a huge fan of the wine, it was a little too dry for me, but it did taste better after having a bite of the gnocchi. The third tasting followed up next
waygu.jpeg
This was the Snake River Wagyu, and it was served with Tenuta Luce. Our sommelier let us know that the wine was a mix of San Gervasio and Merlot and was actually a creation with Robert Mondavi. But let's talk about the wagyu, my goodness, that little bite melted in my mouth and the black salt served with it made it even better! Our final tasting
chocolate pillow.jpeg
This little chocolate pillow was absolute perfection! It was served with a Ben Rye honey wine. This was my favorite wine, it's so sweet and tasted so good with the dessert! I keep wanting to buy a bottle every time we go to Total Wine, but it's a dessert wine and I don't think I would drink it at home, but it is very good! Wrapping up our evening, the chef also made an appearance to which we celebrated his excellent food. While settling our bill, we were given Palo Pins
palo pin.jpeg
These were different than the ones we were given on the Wonder, it's nice to have a new one! As we walked out, I took a photo of the wines we were served
Wine.jpeg
There were no changes in the food and wine between the Wonder and the Treasure. I appreciated the intimacy on the Wonder more, since there were only 12 of us, it was a much more personal relationship. On the Treasure, there were so many people, and everyone was having individual conversations that it was sometimes hard to hear. I really do enjoy this experience, hopefully, we can do it again on our next cruise. Wrapping up Prima Notte, it was time to head to our first dinner.

Up Next: It's dinner time!

I just binged your updates to this point and am excited to read more about your cruise on the Treasure! Sorry that your last park day didn't end according to plan, but good that you were able to get rest and feel better before setting sail. My Mom and I are sailing on the Wish this May, so I'm soaking up all the DCL reports that I can (regardless of ship!) because I'm just so stinking excited! Our activities check in opens up tonight--my first time as Gold Castaway Club member--so excited!

:welcome: I hope that you were able to book everything that you wanted last night!

I was so impressed with the availability of everything since this was my first time booking activities as Gold!! The only thing that appeared to be unavailable were cabanas on Castaway, which I wasn't looking for anyway. This cruise is only 3 nights, so we didn't want to book up too many things. We want to have time to explore the Wish since it is our first sailing on her.

It's Embarkation Day, Part 5

We headed out of Palo and headed down to dinner. Our first restaurant in our dining rotation was Worlds of Marvel
worlds of marvel sign.jpeg
It's pretty much an exact copy of what you see on the Wish. We were seated at a 6-top table, but there were only 4 table settings; while waiting for our table mates to show up, we took a look at the menu
worlds of marvel menu.jpeg
Our servers introduced themselves to us. Our main server was Santana, and our assistant server was Jinet. Beverages were ordered and it became clear that our table mates weren't coming so Santana took our order and then we were served our bread
bread basket.jpeg
worlds of marvel plate.jpeg
The bread plates were so cool! The one thing I like about the Treasure menus is that the dessert menu is part of the main menu. So, we ordered our dessert the same time as everything else. I really feel like this helped dinner service move at a quicker pace, we never had to worry about being late to anything. Our appetizers came pretty quick after we ordered, both DH and I got the same thing
Shrimp.jpeg
The Dill and Meyer Lemon marinated shrimp. We both enjoyed the shrimp; I really liked the little mini bites of cucumber and caviar. DH also got the Iceberg Wedge Salad
wedge salad.jpeg
This is the first of many wedge salads that DH would order. Every night he would complain about how he's not really a fan of wedge salads, but he would order one every night (spoiler alert). Next up, we both got soup
soup.jpeg
I got the White Cheddar and Broccolini soup. I enjoyed this, but the corn bread croutons were a little too sweet for the soup. I just pushed those aside and ate the soup
soup1.jpeg
DH had the Kartoffelsuppe, which is a potato soup, he enjoyed this, I had a taste, it wasn't bad, I definitely preferred my soup. For our mains
pasta.jpeg
I got the Golden Mystic Pasta, this was delicious! The pasta had a great flavor, plus the scallops were cooked perfectly! I was getting full so I couldn't finish, but wish that I could, this was one of my favorite meals we had over the week.
steak.jpeg
DH went with the Rosemary Roasted Beef Tenderloin and thought it was pretty good.

It's Embarkation Day, Part 6

While we were eating, we were enjoying the show. The first night in Worlds of Marvel is the Ant-Man show, the same as on the Wish
Paul.jpeg
Hey Paul! Our desserts came out and this is when I realized I made a mistake with mine
Date pudding.jpeg
I went with the Subatomic Sticky Date Pudding. I wasn't paying too close of attention to menu when I ordered and thought I ordered sticky toffee pudding. Nope, wrong answer and after one bite, I realized that I don't like sticky date pudding. I did have the ice cream though and that was very good with the caramel sauce
cheesecake.jpeg
DH went with the Quantum Key Lime Pie. While it wasn't as good as Kermit's Key Lime in Key West (all Key Lime Pies that DH eats are measured against Kermit's), he did enjoy it and cleaned his plate! As the show was wrapping up, we got a surprise appearance in the dining room from Spiderman
Spidey .jpeg
He stopped at each of the tables for everyone to take a selfie
Spidey selfie.jpeg
Normally after dinner, we head to the adult show and tonight would be Match Your Mate, which is always a favorite. But we were exhausted, the busy 2 days in the park, and a very busy embarkation day, we could barely keep our eyes open. We knew we'd never make it until Match Your Mate. We decided to call it a night and head to bed, we had a very busy day at sea ahead of us!

Up Next: A very busy day at sea!

My Mom and I are planning our Wish cruise in May, and are just not very excited about Worlds of Marvel. Do you think we'll be sad if we skip it?? Neither of us have even seen any of the movies; they just don't interest us, and the menu choices are just OK, too, nothing either of us are super excited by. I'm just curious from someone who has experienced it, what your thoughts are.

Going back to watch the Vlogs!! :)

Chiming in here as somebody who just experienced the WISH to say I think it would be fine to skip Worlds of Marvel. We just finished our cruise on the Wish 2 weeks ago. I wanted to try each of the restaurants (it was a 4 night cruise) and Palo (we did this on Pirate Night since we knew it would be a repeat restaurant). With all of the really good options on the pool deck, even with Marceline not open for dinner, I think you'd be fine. The pizza on the pool deck was one of my favorites. I didn't get a chance to try the BBQ or the Chipotle-like place other than tasting a burrito bowl my daughter got, so there are so many good options for you. I also enjoy room service, but we didn't do that this time either.

We were okay with Marvel, but it didn't leave that much of an impression with us. With 3 older adults and our 2 adult children (20yo son and 22yo daughter) I think my husband was the most excited about the show. Our location in the restaurant meant Spiderman would have visited us close to last, so we didn't stick around but waved as we left and DH got a high five.

I'm a huge Marvel fan, but honestly, not a huge fan of Worlds of Marvel. The menu is probably my least favorite and the Ant-man/Wasp show already seems dated. If you're looking for a night to skip on the Wish, I would recommend this one over the others.

Chiming in here as somebody who just experienced the WISH
Hi! I actually read your TR yesterday!! Thanks for sharing your experience. We were thinking the exact same thing about using that night as an opportunity to try some of the other poolside options, like BBQ or fiesta bowls (or whatever they're called, LOL). I appreciate your opinion!

I'm a huge Marvel fan, but honestly, not a huge fan of Worlds of Marvel.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with it! I think if my Dad, husband or son were along with us, we would go just because THEY would enjoy it, but since it's just Mom and I, we're thinking it's a skip. I will share both of your opinions with her, so she feels better about missing it, too! :)

I apologize for the delay in posting this report. Sadly, we lost DH's mother on Saturday. If you read my trip report on our Alaska journey, you'll know that DH's parents were originally supposed to join us, but then she got sick. We didn't know at the time that the months that followed were going to be full of ups and downs (mostly downs). While we were on this trip, we received word that she had been hospitalized again and after we came home, she decided to go on hospice. Her last couple of weeks were difficult on all of us and while I'm happy that her pain and suffering have ended, I'm going to miss her so much. I was incredibly lucky to have an amazing mother-in-law who loved me, and we had a wonderful relationship. She was an amazing woman, who loved to participate in our adventures, put up with all of our sh*t, and almost always had a smile on her face. Her funeral is next week, and we plan for it to be quite the entertaining event. One of the benefits of vlogging is that we have so many memories of the events she participated in with us. DH has been working hard on incorporating some of them into a video that we'll play at her funeral. It's been an incredibly tough week, but we're doing okay.

Until we meet again!

Day at Sea, Part one

I wonder what it's like to actually sleep in on vacation...I'm starting to envy those who don't bother to set an alarm and just get up whenever. We had a busy day at sea and for me, the day started pretty early. I had a massage at 8am, the alarm was set for 7:30, and once it went off, I got dressed and headed down two flights to Senses Spa. I checked in, was taken to the changing room, changed into my robe and then went to the waiting area for my masseuse to come. The spa is very busy at 8am, there were a lot of women in the waiting area. One by one, names would be called, and they would get up and leave until I was the only one left in the room. I was waiting for almost 20 minutes; I was about to head up front to find out what was going on when finally, my masseuse showed up. She escorted me to the treatment room, talked to me about the questionnaire I filled out and left me for a few minutes to get ready.

Treatment room.jpeg
I had booked a 100-minute treatment with a seaweed wrap and was really looking forward to it. I'm not a huge fan of massages, but I had heard the seaweed wrap was relaxing and the massage was minimal. My masseuse came back into the room and got started, I'll make what happened next very brief...for the next 100 minutes, I was essentially tortured. The masseuse went really hard on all my muscles all over my body, I know some people (DH in fact) love this type of massage, but I was in agony. During this time, I kept wondering when my seaweed wrap was going to begin. But it never happened, suddenly, my massage was over, and my masseuse left to get the bill while I changed.

Once she came back, of course, I had to endure the product spiel, in addition to the massage oils, she also tried to get me to purchase a $250 eye cream, thanks, but no thanks. She also told me I should come back at least 2 more times during the cruise to get a hot stone massage because I'm very tense. I then mentioned that I was supposed to have a seaweed wrap and what happened. She tells me that I wasn't signed up for a wrap that they had me down for a deep tissue massage, well, no wonder I was in so much pain! I'm not sure what happened, and I'm not one to complain or question, so I just rolled with it, paid my bill and moved on with my day. And again, I'm not a fan of complaining so when we talked about it in our vlog, I said it was very relaxing, but it was not. I think that I'm done with Senses, I've never had great experiences and it's so expensive. But watch, I'll probably book another treatment when we're on the Magic in a few months🤣

DH also had an appointment for acupuncture, but his appointment didn't start until 10, we basically saw each other in the lobby as I was leaving, and he was arriving. I was hungry at this point, so I headed up to Marceline Market to grab some breakfast. I grabbed a few things and then when I went to grab my beverage, lo and behold, they had POG juice!!!POG juice.jpeg
Our last couple of cruises were on The Wonder and they didn't have it on board, I was so excited, I love POG juice. Marceline Market was very packed, but I managed to find a seat and started digging in
Breakfast .jpeg
My first of many eggs benedict. Just looking at this photo makes me want to eat one right now. I also loved that there was turkey bacon, I enjoyed that every morning. After breakfast, I headed back to our room to shower and change and then it was time to meet up with DH for our Champagne tasting.
ScatCat sign.jpeg
Our tasting was in Scat Cat Lounge, and I really enjoyed everything about this lounge
Scatcat piano.jpeg
scatcat piano1.jpeg
We learned later in the day on our ship tour that there is a "scuffed" paw on the piano and that this paw is an actual cat paw from one of the Imagineer's cats that had passed recently. So sad, but such a beautiful way to treasure her memory.

The sommelier that was doing our tasting asked for no videos or photos during the tasting. This has only happened to us a couple of times and I'm pretty sure it's always this particular sommelier. I actually appreciated it, it's nice to be able to do something and not have to record our reactions or opinions on occasion. I did snap a couple of photos at the beginning and end of the presentation.
macaron.jpeg
We each got a macaron to nibble on. Mine was an almond flavor and DH had lemon
Treasure champagnes.jpeg
Our sommelier let us know that these bottles were made specifically for the inauguration sailing, there were still a few bottles left for people to purchase. I thought it was really neat how they had a special Treasure label on them.
champagnes.jpeg
These were the Champagnes that we sampled during our tasting. I'm always a sucker for the Veuve Clicquot and the Ice Imperial! After our tasting wrapped up, DH was feeling a little loopy from all of the Champagne, he had skipped breakfast, so all the alcohol was hitting him on an empty stomach. Thankfully, it was time for lunch, so we headed up to deck 11
cat statues.jpeg
One more photo of the awesomeness of Scat Cat Lounge, I loved all the crystal statues.

Day at Sea, Part Two

DH was having a craving for some BBQ, so he wanted Mickey's Smokestack BBQ, he grabbed himself a variety of meats and sides
Bill lunch.jpeg
He enjoyed everything on his plate but always has to mention that the brisket is more like corned beef. I decided that I wanted to get a bowl from Donald's Cantina
Kari lunch.jpeg
I couldn't decide on my protein, so I got all three (chicken, steak, carnitas). I really enjoyed my bowl; Donald's was very popular, so it took a while to get through the line. DH was already finished with his meal before I even got to the table, but it was so worth it! I then had to get an ice cream cone
ice cream.jpeg
I love twist cones, but they're hard to find around me, I have to get my fill while we're cruising! No photos, but we also decided to grab a couple of drinks. I grabbed the drink of the day, which was a High Tide and DH got a Long Island. We had a little bit of time to explore before our next event, so we headed down to explore the shops. I was very good, I only bought a Treasure Christmas ornament, honestly, none of the Treasure merchandise caught my eye and the other apparel on board, either I didn't like, or it was too expensive for my taste.

We were meeting at Jade Cricket Cafe for our next event, and we still had some time to kill, so I looked over the menu and decided to try one of their beverages
apple tea.jpeg
This was the Spiced Apple Iced Tea, and I really enjoyed it. I meant to go back and get another time, but sadly, this would be our only visit. It was during this time that we had kind of an odd interaction with another cruiser. We knew headed into this cruise that there were going to be a lot of vloggers onboard. Now, DH and I are nothing compared to most of the other vloggers, and we met with several during our week and everyone else was really nice. But one of the vloggers was sitting and Jade Cricket the same time as we were, and DH went up to say hi. Being a photojournalist by trade, DH likes to see what other vloggers use as cameras and "talk shop". This guy was such an a$$ to DH, was completely offended that DH didn't know who he was and decided that DH wasn't worth his time. I won't say his channel name because maybe he was just having an off day, but he kind of hurt DH's feelings.

It was finally time for our event to start, we were doing the Imagining the Disney Ships tour. We were able to book this via the app once we arrived at port. There were a lot of times offered throughout the week, and we were excited to do this right away! Our first stop of the tour was in Coco, we learned about the photos on the walls and the statues in the hallway and why they were there. I don't want to give away too much information, but I'll share a few tidbits

I loved how they had the ofrenda set up, it was just like the movie! One of the things we learned inside of Coco was that this was the one place where you can see Peter Pan and Captain Hook

Not the greatest of photos but still cool to experience! Our tour continued and we learned about the carpets, the grand hall, and the wall art
Moana art.jpeg
The Moana wall art is actual moss, it's so neat to look at! The tour lasted about an hour, and it was very entertaining. I always recommend doing these tours, they're known as the "Art of the Theme Tour" on the 4 classic ships and I'm not sure if it's still called it, but when we were on the Wish, it was called "Walking the Wish". After our tour concluded, we saw Rapunzel was out meeting, so we got in line and had a nice chat. My photos turned out horribly and we met up with her a couple more times during the cruise, so I'll post better photos later! It was then time to head to Sarabi and play some Disney Cruise Line Trivia
DCL Trivia.jpeg
Since we've been on all the ships, we thought we would've stood a chance, but nope, losers again! As we were headed to our room, we witnessed an engagement in the Grand Hall, it was very sweet! We then split up for a short time, I headed to the Walt Disney Theater to get in line for the evening show and DH headed up to Vibe's open house.

Day at Sea, part three

I headed into the Walt Disney Theater for the first time. One thing that we noticed was that the chairs were a little roomier and the cup holders were a little larger.

The show for the night was Seas the Adventure, prior to the show starting, the captain and some of the higher-ranking officers were brought out on stage and introduced

Then it was show time! We saw this show when we were on the Wish and it's very cute! After the show ended, we headed to Sarabi for a very special evening, it was time for Sarabi Supper Club!

We weren't really sure what to expect, but from watching a previous vlog, we were told it was something that wasn't to be missed. There were special drinks during this event, including ones served in these beauties
Monkeys.jpeg
I had to have one of these mugs, they were so cool! Sadly, they weren't for sale, but I had to at least get one of the drinks so I could pretend
Chilled Monkey head.jpeg
The drink served in the mug was called, "Chilled Monkey Brains" and it was rum based and served with an edible straw, I really enjoyed it! I named my mug "Kevin" and I was very sad that I couldn't bring Kevin home with me. DCL needs to sell these babies! The super club portion was really just time for people to find seats and get drinks before the actual show. The show was "Choose Wisely, an Indiana Jones Comedy Adventure". I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan, but even if you're not, this show is amazing! It starred Coriander and Sage, our Disney Treasure Storytellers.

I could go on and on about how hilarious this show was, but I don't want to spoil it for others, if you're on the Treasure, don't miss this show, it's offered 2x on the first sea day. Honestly, it was probably one of my favorite shows on board. It was then time for dinner and tonight, we were dining in Coco
Coco sign.jpeg
The first night was the family inviting you to their festival, it was a joyous night full of singing, dancing, and other celebrations. We were led to our table and for the second night in a row, we had no tablemates. Santana handed us our menus and as we were figuring out what to eat, we were served our "bread basket"
chips and salsa.jpeg
In Coco, you don't get bread, you get chips and salsa! The chips were warm and had the perfect amount of salt to them, while the salsa was very mild, we thought it was good. We actually asked for more, but it was never brought out to us. Oh well, we had plenty of other goodies to enjoy. Our appetizers came out quick, I started with
Croquettes.jpeg
These were the Chorizo Street Croquettes and holy moly these were fantastic! DH and I often split things so we can try more and man, did I not want to share these!
