Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Cost = $28.76
My hesistation with this is that I already own two pair of Adidas flip flops which have memory foam and are really really comfy for summer wear. They do not, however, hold up all day long in the parks. I had thought of alternating between those and my running sneakers, which are comfortable as well, but I sweat through my feet (more than you wanted to know, huh) and I think sneakers in Florida would make me really, really hot.

These are hands down my favorite as far as looks go -- tres, tres cute!!!

Have you done flip flops all day in a park before? I'm clueless as far as that goes.

I've been coveting these ever since I knew they existed. Tryed them on last year at the parks but couldn't bring myself to pay full price. I think they'd be great for by the pool, (I have the Mickey skirtini from last year which is black and a pink floral top with Mickey on it) but I don't know how people do the parks in them. Then again, they are supposed to be open feeling, so I'm not sure.

I coveted these, too, before they came out with the Minnie Janes.

Again, like you said, good for pool, but what about the parks? If I were ranking, I would say these would be my third choice.

merrells1.jpg

Cost = $50.36
I know Merrells are good quality. I own other shoes just to make my closet not feel sad :lmao: but all I wear since I've owned Merrells are Merrells. I have two pairs, black clogs, and brown mocs. I wear them at the bank, and although my feet will still hurt a bit if I stand all day, it's nothing compared to the carp shoes I used to wear. The mocs are a bit more supportive than the clogs, so I'm hoping to get another black pair this fall. These are the sensible thing to go with, not fun, not gorgeous or cute, but sensible. I think I want them. However, I am frugal to a fault. I am intrigued by the low price of the pink Crocs.

If Merrells have held true for you for so long, I think I am going to have to rank these as the #1 pair. You're right, they aren't the cutest of the three, but they would be the most sensible at the parks. No one wants to hobble along through World Showcase. :worried:

And what is the most important thing at WDW? Beauty or comfort? We know that answer. ;) And they will go with everything.

Except when I previewed my response, I saw the price of the Merrells! :eek:

I do know lots of people who swear by Crocs for park touring.

:faint:

Just kidding.

I know what you mean. In regard to work, I've given up on cute in favor of comfort. But you know what? I've always been a comfort gal anyway. I am leaning towards returning the Mary Janes. Truthfully, I worked at the bank, was on my feet all day, and when I put those on, my feet didn't say "ahhhhh." When I put on Merrells, typically, my feet say "ahhhhh."

Do I sound crazy?
Not at all! When I put on my crocs, my feet say "ahhhh". "Ahhh" is what you should go for. :thumbsup2

When I was younger...read the teen/college years...I could wear cheap Old Navy, or Disney flip flops all day long, no issues. Now, not so much. I wore my nice Adidas memory foam ones last year and my feet weren't in pain, they were very, very achey and the end of each day. As in I begged DH for a foot rub. Although I like the foot rub, I'd like to not "have to" have one after a full day of touring. I do anticipate this year will be a slower pace since we are being more chill about our vacation than with the fam, but I still need support to run around with my boys!

I know, the price is a killer. But consider my other Merrells cost more than that, and they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I think they're worth it.

Ooo, ooo, look what I found!!!!

Mama like! ::yes::

Cost = $50.36

The back strap removes to become a slide! I LOVE black and blue! I wear a majority of black on vacay, trying to think if these would go with everything or if I should go with those simple black slides. These almost look like more of a sneaker type construction to me.

THOSE ONES! I love them. They are cute yet practical. LL Like!

Okay, since you're all humoring me, let me ask this. And also say thank you for humoring me!!!

Do you think these are too casual to go with some of my dressy tanks? I know dressy tanks = oxy moron...but I have this cute trapeze style, flowy tank with some nice beading on the top. It's a black top, I planned to wear it with khaki shorts.

Most of my outfits would be some form of black or white tank with either green capris, khaki shorts, or black gauchos.

I am painfully, painfully aware of color combinations. One of the curses of being an artist.

:lmao: You sound soooo like me. I go absolutely crazy if my shoes do not match my outfit perfectally. Hence the coveting of black mary jane crocs. I think the latest merrells (I think they are merrells) will be okay if you are wearing a dressy tank. I don't say this lightly either, because it would be a concern of mine as well. I think those are "neutral" enough to work.

If they last, and your feet love them, then it's a bargain.

I like this latest pair -- they would be very supportive!!!

Hey, no problem with the humoring. I have done all I can as far as trip preps, so now I am eating leftover cake and ice cream slathered with chocolate syrup and DISing (since I won't be able to for 8 days :eek: ).

Honest opinion? Not dressy enough. :(

Yup.

The shoe saga continues.

I promise it'll be short though, and there is some potentially good news.

After having picked the brains of my fellow DISers I have come to a decision...sort of...not really...maybe...waffle, waffle.

I'm between these two...

merrells3.jpg

They cost the same, so we can't even attack it from that angle.

Black is more practical, but those blue/black ones look sturdier to me and better built for park touring. And my wardrobe concerns could easily be appeased with the purchase of some new wardrobe items! :rotfl2:

But seriously, I have to make some kind of decision because these cutie patooties...

DSCI0067-1.jpg

are going to be taking a little trip back to the world of Shoebuy.com.

But all is not lost my friends!

In the TK family hope lives on!!!!

In the form of a small, cute red-headed boy who shocked and amazed me tonight with a single word...

"Yellow."

Yup, yellow.

Want to know why?

I can never find the toddler Crocs available on shoebuy.com. They're so popular they seem to sell out almost immediately in his size, which would be a 10-11. I know this because during the whole Stride Rite sandal debacle, we tried on some Crocs, and that's what size is better for him. This excites me because he's currently measuring a 9. And the sandals he currently owns are...a 9. Which means I'm going to be buying the boy some new footwear before the end or even middle of the summer since he tends to grow like a weed.

And that boy loves Crocs.

And slippers. He wears mine.

A lot.

It's cute, trust me. Tonight when he saw my black mary jane crocs, he had to try them on, and proceeded to clop around in them, which led me back to a previously drawn conclusion.

The boy needs his own Crocs.

So, back to shoebuy.com. They had ever color in a 10-11, and the Disney ones to boot! I was excited. I was :yay: . DS was playing. I said, "DS, I want to show you something, come look at the computer. Do you like Disney Crocs, with Mickey?"

"No." :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

What????

"DS, do you want plain Crocs?"

"YEAH!" said with little boy squeal of delight.

Hmmm.....

"DS, do you want blue Crocs?" I had been coveting for him the sea blue color, it's a nice cobalt blue, so cute for a boy.

"Nooooo." Said with that geez, ma attitude that's so cute sometimes.

"DS, what color do you want?"

"Yellow!" said with little boy squeal of delight.

"Yellow?"

"Yellow!"

Oh boy. I showed that little peanut every gosh darn color of Croc and you know what he wanted.

Yellow.

So like any good mother, I ordered him size 10-11 toddler Crocs in...Yellow.

But the best part is what they cost. Since I'd made a purchase recently, not only was I able to get 20% off as a promo, but an additional 10% on top of that. So his Crocs cost me $18.36...and free shipping and returns.

Life is good.::yes::

Let's just hope they fit/he likes them. I really think he will, he actually looked me right in the eye and said, all slurred together in toddler speak, but I caught it, "Mama, theupsmanfarawaybringyellowcrocsforDS" Oh, buddy. You are too cute.

I know I've ordered the Disney ones before and felt they were too big, but I really believe he's grown since then and the regular Crocs may work.

I'll keep you posted, as my house battles the curse of the black/blue/yellow sandal.:thumbsup2

One for, one against...

hmmmm...

buy both?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hurray for DS and his yellow crocs! He will be the cutest little fellow since Christopher Robin and my Connor! :lmao:

I think whichever you choose between your two choices will be good. I have faith in your decision! :goodvibes

I really think the second pair will be more sturdy and that you won't be arrested by the fashion police.

Your DS sounds way too cute! I can't wait to see a picture of the yellow crocs. :goodvibes

DS has beautiful auburn red hair, so he's not a bright red head. Because of this, he actually looks gorgeous in yellow. It sets of his hair and complexion very nicely. We have a couple of yellow shirts that I love on him, and if the yellow Crocs stay, then I'll have to pack those I guess! :goodvibes

Sounds simply adorable. :goodvibes

Ok...I have made the table labels and I think I have finalized the seating chart. :banana: The tables are named after birds, do you think it would be bad if I put WOH at the woodpecker table? :stir:

That would be a win-win situation for you! :lmao:

I think my game plan will be to return the MJs, order both and try to make myself decided between the two. You never know, I may not like them in person.

Would it be totally inappropriate to have a vulture table?

Excellant game plan! That is what I did with the MJ and flip flop crocs. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: My grandmother was orginally going to sit at the Woodpecker table, but she is unable to come. I told you she was Ursula.

It's more like a theory...what if I like both? :eek:

If I were at your wedding, I would really want to be at the sparrow table.pirate:

That is a possibility...but you are worth two pairs of shoes. Fits in with your WL splurge. ::yes::

Hehehe. Unfortunatly, I couldn't find a cute picture of a sparrow so no sparrow table. If you were to come, I would have dealt with a not so cute picture or put Johnny Depp on the label!. :rotfl2:
