Will Jetblue prices come down?

I booked flights down to Orlando on 8/26 for only $89 from the NYC area. I am trying to get flights back around labor day and they are still real high. The planes are empty, so it's not due to demand. Does anyone know if/or when JetBlue usually lowers their prices? I don't think a lot of people vacation the last week of August/first week of Sept. It's generally a slow time.

Unlikely unless there's a fare sale. jetBlue generally increases prices as departure approaches.

I wonder the same thing, since we are going in the same time frame, same area, just a week earlier. I purchased our outbound flights at 117 pp because it is the lowest I had seen it recently, and there were only 3 seats left. We needed 3 seats... My fear was that since they don't have the same policy they used to in the past- giving a travel bank credit if rates go down- there was less flexibility. If I gambled and the rates only went up for a while, at what point would I have felt compelled to buy, even at a higher price? Plus, at some point Jetblue's pricing structure is supposed to change, with one price including a checked bag, one price not, etc. I have not yet purchased our return flights since they are currently sitting at 145 pp. I'm going to gamble a bit and watch those. Wish I would've purchased when you did. I would've saved almost $100, unless those prices were only available for Wed travel.

Jetblue prices do go up and down and often they offer promotional percentage off specials. Like the other posters, I've not purchased my tickets home for both May and August. I'm also watching when they start charging for luggage. I'm sure there will be no warning when that begins.

I actually spoke to an agent a few weeks ago about changing the date for our trip down to WDW in August (didn't do it because it cost too much) but she said that charging for the luggage was only a "rumor". Honestly, she made it seem like that might not even happen. Who knows, it's just so
annoying waiting.

It's not a rumor, it's true. JetBlue is going to start charging a baggage check fee for those buying their lowest fare class tickets. They are also reducing seat pitch (leg room) and retrofitting many of their planes with those terrible slimline seats.

The plane may look "empty," but the flight isn't for six months! Plenty of time to fill up. It's likely the price will be never go down. Keep in mind that Orlando is a big convention town; it's not just vacationers traveling there. Personally, I would have already purchased my airline tickets for an August trip.

Since when does jetblue not do this anymore?? That was always a plus...

I've been looking at the same dates pretty much. We're going down 8/26 and reurning labor day weekend (doing 6 nights in WDW and a 7-nt Royal Caribbean cruise). Flights down from JFK are very reasonable but the return flights are insanely high. If we could have gotten a decent fare on a return flight we would have booked it. Instead now, we'll just book Southwest when they go on sale 2/19.
