Will Jetblue allow us on an earlier flight?

Myself and DD are headed to WDW in one week and are flying on Jetblue. Our flight doesn't get in until around 10pm. I noticed that there is a flight getting in earlier--around 730pm. Has anyone ever asked to switch flight times? I am thinking that if we do it at the airport when checking in, it shouldn't matter which flight we occupy a seat on. :confused3. I know it isn't a huge time difference but it would be nice to get a good nights sleep and start first day early and well rested!! :)

If you go to JetBlues website and go to their help section, you can look up all the options they have for taking an earlier flight.

Same Day Flight Change

Cities with Multiple Flights a Day

You must contact JetBlue prior to the departure of your original flight
You can make your confirmed same day changes via 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) or at the airport beginning at midnight (in the time zone of the departing flight) of the same calendar day as your original scheduled flight.
You must travel on an earlier or later flight the same-day.
You must travel between the same city pairs or designated co-located airport.
A Same-Day Change Fee of $50 per person will be applied for your confirmed seat.

This might seem like a silly question but was the earlier flight available when you booked and if it was why didn't you book it when you bought your tickets

$50 isn't that bad since the earlier flight ticket prices might be higher then what the OP paid for their tickets.

Most airlines only allow free standby if there are no seats available and you are willing to wait until everyone is boarded at the gate to see if there are no shows. If you want a confirmed seat on the earlier flight, there is a charge. Keep in mind that you may not get seats together.

This is exactly what happened. There was a huge difference in price when I booked the flights. Even if I pay the extra $50/ticket, I will still save money. Now if I could only convince my 19yo dd that we should get on a 6am flight, I'll be all set!!

Actually, JetBlue does allow standby with available seats, not if "there are no seats available". I did this two weeks ago and it worked out perfectly. I understood that we could pay the 50.00 change fee at midnight the night before. However, I also knew that you can show up at the airport approx. an hour or two before the previous flight you are booked on and state that you want to go standby. This is totally free to do so. I called the night before and was told there were about 10 seats left. I called the morning of the flight, 7 seats were left. It was a gamble. Got to the gate, and they were sold out! But, 3 people ended up not showing up, so we got on! Was so happy. I would do it again in a heartbeat, if that flight was too expensive to begin with (which it was). So to the OP, I'd try and go for it, hey there's nothing to lose, you still have seats on your original flight, but just maybe you can get down there much earlier:thumbsup2. Oh, one more thing, JetBlue only allows you to go standby for free, on the previous flight from yours, not all the other ones from the day.

I've done this before. If you don't want to pay the $50 confirmed seat, then when you get to the airport ask about availability for standby seats on earlier flight. It is first come, first serve.

Personally, just before you leave for the airport I would go online like you are trying to buy 1 ticket so that you can get to the seating chart to see how many seats are left. If no seats are showing available or you only see 2 seats, etc...then the chances are you might not get it.
