I know that there have been postings on the WDW boards regarding "Pooh Size" issues. What are the experiences of the larger molded individuals at IOA?

There are only three rides to be concerned with: Hulk, Doctor Doom, and Dueling Dragons. At all 3, they have test seats available out front so you can check how comfortable you'd be in the seat. Hulk and Dragons both have larger size seats available, which are in the 3rd and 6th rows. Doctor Doom has just one size seat. If you can bring the harness down and clip the belt, you're set. The rest of the rides (except Dudley Do-Right and Storm Force) have lapbars of some sort, so those you dont have to worry about.

Please note that only one seat in each of the 3rd and 6th rows are "larger". If you are facing in the same direction that the train is goig to run/move then the seat will be the 2nd in from the right hand side. YOu will also notice the seat becuase it has two seat belts. So plan ahead if you think you will need it. Hope that helps. It's quite imbarrssing to have them move you.

When I went two years ago I could fit in everything - but the Hulk was VERY tight and uncomfortable and I think that's part of why it made me so sick! I didn't even try Dueling Dragons then. This time I did get my usual dizzy feeling - but didn't feel awful like I did that time. It makes a difference where your weight is as well. I was (and still am:rolleyes: ) pretty "busty" and that's what made those seats so uncomfortable for me.

The only ride I couldn't fit in was the bicycle seats on ET at Universal! I had to sit on the bench seat in the back - I came home and joined Weight Watchers the next week!! This trip I was 40 lbs lighter.

Thanks for the replies. I still have some doubts, though. Which size do you think would be too snug? 1X, 2X, or 3X+?

For Dr Doom? 2x is going to be tight. I doubt you will fit.

For DD and Hulk 2x will make it..but 3x is questionable....depends on where you carry your weight.

I was 2X at the time. I had no problem with Dr. Doom.

DH is a 2XL and rides Dr. Doom all the time without a major problem. We always set ourselves up on Hulk and Dueling Dragons so he gets the larger seat in row 3 or 6 and he has no problems. He can actually fit in a standard seat on either of these but it's MUCH more comfortable for him in the seat with the double belts. There are sample seats on the outside of the rides
(both standard and larger size) so you'll be able to test them prior to riding.

By the way, on Hulk, there is usually (not always) an attendant who will put you in the correct row for the larger seats if you ask.
On Dueling Dragons, you're on your own; so be sure to count off for row 3 or 6 when you choose your row.

Relax, you'll be OK. Enjoy your trip.

When ever I see those harnesses that use the belts as well I shy away. I carry my weight around the middle. I am a 44" waist. Has anyone my size or larger ridden these rides without a problem? We haven't gone to IOA because I don't think it's worth the money if I can't fit on to the rides.

We use to be IOA/Univeral passholders and my fiance and myself are not all that small either... he was wearing a 48 pants and had a 50-52 inch chest and he rode Doctor Dooms in reg seat and Dueling Dragons in the larger seat. We rode everything else just fine and had no problems with any lap belts or anything... he even rode the Peranodon Flyers and that looks a little small to me. :Pinkbounc
