Will I be shut out from MK capacity?

My hubby and I are leaving Saturday morning for our whirlwind weekend trip!! I literally got the wild idea that I wanted to see the fireworks in MK for the 4th, and he agreed! We arrive Sat morning, and leave Monday night!

I have an AP, and my hubby has a 3 day non-PH ticket.

At this time, we have ADR at 'Ohana for 4pm on Sunday. We are planning to spend the day at MK, but were planning to leave for 'Ohana around 3, and return following our meal.

Do you think we will have an issue getting back into MK based on the crowd level and potential for it being at capacity??

If I feel there is an issue, I am fine with foregoing the ADR, or may just take the hit with the no-show fee if I get worried at the last minute. I am not going to take a chance at not being let back in, if it is really going to be that close to capacity.

Thoughts??

I think you would be fine, but I would not want to chance it just in case.

Yes, we are staying at Wilderness Lodge.

I wouldn't worry as you are a resort guest and it sounds like you are going to be spending the day in MK. The only time you would have to worry is for the last closure when they stop letting anyone in and I think they rarely get to that point.

Last year, we went to MK after dinner on the 3rd (around 7:30-8pm or so) and had no problems getting in. We're planning on doing the same thing on Sunday. I'm not worried about it. Worst case scenario we can watch the fireworks from the TTC and then go in when some of the crowd clears out for EMH.

I believe the last time MK reached a phase 4 closure on July 4th was in 2009, and they've added capacity for about 20,000 more people since then. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, on-site guests are among the last to get denied entry, so it'd have to get really, really busy for them to turn you away. It's not impossible of course, but highly unlikely.

On site and AP holders can still get in unless it's a full on phase 4 closure, which won't be met. You'll be fine. It'll likely only reach phase 1, maybe 2

:confused::blush::confused:
Could someone please fill me in on the different phases of closing? :coffee:
I should know this, but my head draws a blank now... :rotfl:

The only people that really need to have concern for being shut out of a park are single day, walk up ticket purchasers. I can see them having a time period where they won't be admitted.
