Will Free Dining have an extension?

What is the likelihood of this offer being extended through October? I thought last year's promo ran thru October. Any thoughts?

Doubtful. With the Food and Wine Festival, MNSSHP and usually lots of conferences in October, I doubt it will be extended.

It didn't run through October last year. You had to check in by October 4th and it was for a maximum 10 day stay.
My gut instinct is that the chances are slim because value season ends that first week in October and because last year, toward the end of that first week in october, things really picked up. Which might explain why they cut it off September 30th this time.

No, it will not be extended. I spoke with a CM when I made my ressie last night and was chatting about the dates. He said that the popularity of the offer last year peaked in Oct. The offer was through 10/4 and a large majority of the guests opted to check in as close to 10/4 as possible making the already popular F&WF & MNSSHP even more crowded. To curb the attendance some, they shortened the dates. This was his thought, although obviously not hard fact.

My ressie is from September 26 through October 2nd. Will I be cut off on the 30th?

Thanks
Ashley

Since you check in on the 29th of September and the promotion is good for check-ins through the 30th, I would think you would be eligible. But, and here I don't know, I think it is check-in plus 10 nights. Since your stay is longer than that, I don't know how it will impact you.
Call and ask, and let us all know :confused3

We will vouch for the increased crowds during this time. We checked in on 9/24 and WDW was absolutely empty for the first week. During the last few days of our 11 day trip, it became much more crowded. While it was not packed, we were totally spoiled by the earlier non crowds. We even complained about waiting 20 minutes for the jungle cruise.

I noticed that this year's plan starts earlier than last year's. I believe in 2005 the free dining started on August 21, this year it starts August 13.

Our trip is June 28- July 4, so it doesn't help us at all. :badpc: :sad2:

I wonder if they'll offer free dining next summer. pixiedust: :worship: pixiedust:

oh well, missed it again...hopefully it will make it less busy when we go( desperately looking for a silver lining since i feel like crying :sad2: )

Yes. You'll have to rework your booking. Do a package checking in the 29th and out the 9th. Get whatever tickets you need with the package. Then book a 3 day room only checking in the 9th and out the 11th Then book a hotel only for the 9-11 of October. Your meal plan credits will be good through the 9th only. As soon as 12 midnight Strikes, your credits won't turn back into a pumpkin, or any other food for that matter.

Who knows what they're going to do now? We were all pretty sure they'd never repeat free dining this year!

I agree. I never thought they were going to offer the free dining again. We were booked to go anyway, but it just saved us a bundle as we are 6 adults, 3 children and 1 child paying at the adult price.
