Will Disneyland's 50th Affect the "World"?

We are planning our first trip to the "World" April 30 - May 6, 2005. Will the 50th at Disneyland have a big affect on WDW? I picked this date because it's after Spring Break and before summer. But now I'm worried about the crowds. Will they be here or mainly at Disneyland?

I believe most of the activity will be at Disneyland since that is the park celebrating its anniversary. However the other Disney parks will have some special effects as well. Also, it is an 18 month long celebration so I'm sure this will not affect the crowds at WDW greatly.

The actual Disneyland anniversary is not in May, but in July. The 15-month celebration is scheduled to start in May.

The main celebration is at DL, but all Disney parks worldwide will be celebrating over the May 5 weekend. You may notice on May 4 that one or more of the parks closes earlier than normal, in order for them to set up or run special "press events." There will also likely be certain areas blocked off for press only, and you'll notice a definite bump in attendance on May 4 and 5, mostly press and special guests. During the days leading up to the celebration, there will be a lot more activity around the parks and resorts, particularly around anything new (Stitch, for example, or Saratoga Springs) which are likely to be featured in press bits.

if anything, you'll greatly benefit from the 50th!

it's a small world has been closed a while now and will be until "spring" 2005... so hopefully they've dusted it all off, applied new paint and will be better than ever!

there's also the flower & garden festival while you're there to draw additional crowds to epcot...
