Hi, Everyone I'am new here but was wondering If I can let Disney make our sit down dinner reservations? In other words if I call 180 days out and tell them we would like to dine at 6 or 630pm at some of the resort resturants the 4 nites we are there will they chose for us? We are not hard to please we just want a nice meal. We have no certain place that we would like to dine.

P.S It's just I and my wife no kids and we are both in our early 50's.

Thanks Rgibson.

I don't think that is something they normally do, at least not in the way you are describing. They might offer a suggestion if you call and what you ask for is not available, but AFAIK, you can't just call them up with your dates and say "pick things for us."

But what might work well for you is to go online, and just put in your dates and meals (you can pick dinner, lunch, etc.) and see what pops up as available and pick whichever sounds best to you.

That's something a travel agent might do, but I doubt WDW-DINE would do that for you. The CM may very well offer suggestions if you ask and provide some kind of guidance, but I don't know if a "get me anything on Thursday at 6 pm" is enough guidance.

OK. So at 180 days out you are saying I can go online put in the 4 days select dinner and the time I would like and it will show all the places that have available seating, click on the ones I want and I'am done? That sounds pretty easy!

Thanks for your help! It's not easy being a newbie.

No, they won't choose restaurants for you. I wouldn't even ask the phone agents for a recommendation. Some of them are at call centers in Tampa and some are not even in Florida. The best way to choose is check the online menus yourself and pick restauarants you think you might like.

Sort of - you pick by day - not 4 days at once. Then it gives you a pull down menu to pick either a meal - lunch, dinner, or at block of time (like 4-5 PM). You can narrow it down if you want by park or resort.

But yes, that's how it works. And don't worry - everyone was new at one point!

Thanks Vicki! I know I will have a lot more questions so please be patient with me.

Go to allears.net., they have a section on dining that gives you the menus to the restaurants. You can pick what types of food you like, themes that interest you, locations as well as the cost of most menu items in advance. Armed with that info you call the dining resv. center 180 days in advance ( if you are a Disney resort guest ) and make your adrs. Tell them what you would like , example; " I would like a table for 2 at The Coral Reef on Thurs. Aug. 25 at 12:30 p.m. ". They then book the resv. for you if that is available, if that is not available they generally tell you when they have a table of 2 available. Example, " We don't have a 12:30 p.m. table available, but we do have a table for 2 available at 12:50 p.m.." Made sure you write down your resv. confirmation numbers.

You may find it helpful to go play with the online system before your 180 day mark. It will give you some experience with the process, plus you can browse the restaurant selections. You'll just have to input dates that are before your actual travel dates.

Even if that was possible, I would not want to leave that in someone else's hands. With just a little research, you can easily find the right restaurants that work for your wallet, timeline, tastebuds and location. There is such a range in price and even if price is not a consideration, you may not want all signature restaurants. Even if you want to dine from 6pm to 6:30pm every night, it may not work at every restuarant (based on that day's plans). For example, if you are at HS and do not have a park hopper, they cannot have you dine at Epcot. You may not like chinese food but the suggester might love it. A good example of this is everyone seems to rave about Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. I am not a fan for dinner but am for lunch. For the most part, you do not want to dine at a hotel around AK if you are spending the day at MK. An exception to this may be if you are not spending any park days at AK and have a must dine location near there. Otherwise, it makes more sense to dine near where you are going to be that day.

My suggestion is find a restaurant near where you plan to be at that time each day. Pull the menus up online and see if the price and menu options suit you well. If they do, take a chance. You may have some misses, but you are sure to have hits as most Disney Dining is amazing. I have found that you cannot rely too much on reviews either. You need to experience it for yourself. My husband loved LTT for dinner as did many others. I like CRT although it does not get high marks for its food. Good luck planning. The overall experience will be great no matter what choices you make!!!
