Will Disney follow new CDC recommendation?

Just curious, for those that are considering cancelling trips if the mask mandate returns (which I completely understand) what are you planning to do with tickets? Just eat the thousands of dollars of cost?
Anyone who has a package can cancel for a full refund, including tickets. Others can let the tickets expire and then when they decide to go back can call qnd hqve the value of the tickets put towards the new tickets.

Just trying to help those looking to cancel so the lines aren't as long for me.

Im hoping some people cancel and i can get a better time for my Topolino's reservation.

Anyone who thinks masks are somehow tolerable in the lines that are snaking through the park in 100+ degree heat/humidity, isn’t actually here in Disney yet. Indoors with air conditioning is one thing. Outdoors in lines though in Florida in August, yea, goodluck. If anything, I’d rather just social distancing with less capacity but we all know Disney rushed the overcapacity thing so that probably can’t logistically be reversed now.
I was there last August. Didn't notice one ounce of difference between having the mask on or off when I was outside. It was hot, but the mask did not make me one bit hotter.

Last August and this August are different beasts, just based on crowds/capacity alone.

Like I said, anyone that claims it is tolerable is not here NOW. You can’t compare experiences when the crowds were minimal vs the parks being packed wall to wall shoulder to shoulder right now. I’m here now experiecing this and the heat is borderline unbearable (as it always is this time of year) but with lines snaking through the park and insane crowds, it FEELS much much hotter. Masks in lines outside, again, in these conditions, would be unbearable imo.

I was there last week too. Its always hot in July and August, yes there are more people this year, but its just as hot.

If people were honest the ones who were NOT vaccinated would be masked up. We have around a 50% fully vaccinated rate for the entire country, but almost 100% at DW are not wearing masks. So...you're either vaccinated or you are a liar.

I am all for public safety. Part of that is keeping my aerosol droplets to myself to protect others and to do that I will need to put my own personal discomfort (because who really LOVES wearing a mask?) aside to help the greater good of mankind. Despite anyones believes, this virus is real, it kills, and unless you are a completely selfish individual, we should ALL be doing ALL we can to get this shiz show under control.

I think you make a good point. But at the same time, with conditions as you describe them, the need for and efficacy of mask wearing only increases. I think that maybe Disney will follow the CDC and require masks indoors, but not for the outdoor portion of lines (though it might be advisable to wear them there as well, for those who can tolerate it).

I don’t know how Disney could ignore this recommendation. We have a trip that I booked for next week and I specifically booked it when the mask mandate was removed entirely. Normally, I would cancel immediately if masks become required again but I rented DVC points so I’d lose my money. It sucks.

This is why while I can save a LOT of money renting DVC points, I refuse to because I can't easily change/cancel plans.

But it seems that the recommendation is for indoors only so Disney can specify that would only include lines that are 100% inside and for outside lines then masks wouldn’t be compulsory. The amount of time would then be limited to rides, shopping, and some lines that are indoors. Obviously cramming people in without social distancing won’t help when are you are on top of each other watching fireworks. So then maybe it is silly even bothering with masks indoors

I just called yesterday to apply the value of last spring's canceled tickets to this Thanksgiving. So that is always an option for people.

Good for you. After waiting an 65 min for ToT today in the sun, after waiting 70 min for RnRC mostly in the sub, after waiting 90 minutes for Mickey and Minnie Railway mostly in the sun, and after waiting 100+ minutes for Millenium Falcon, mostly in the sun. I’m holding very firm on my opinion here. Your tolerance for heat must be very different then ours and the hundreds of people in line with me today. Totally fine, but absolutely worth pointing out to anyone considering a trip with any new impending restrictions potentially coming down the pipeline.

It is so tricky because even though being outdoors is so much safer if you don’t keep minimum distance between parties then eventually if you have a COVID positive basically breathing down your back for an hour long wait outdoors then the risk is still there.

I wish the whole idea of cramming everyone in would go away for awhile.

I was hoping they were going to keep the social distancing markings, it would have been nice not to be crammed in so tight in lines...

I never said it wasn't hot. I was saying wearing a mask didn't make me any hotter.

If that were to happen, that would make far more sense to me. My opinion is based on the original rules that were set in place (which, granted I didn’t experience myself so I’m going on word of mouth regarding what they were with ride lines).

But yea, fully agreed.

And a whole lot of people who posted on here last year when everyone had to wear them everywhere.

And those boat loads of people went last year, not now with this capacity. This is becoming a circular argument and we will see no common ground so I’m ending this now. I hope your next trip is magical. Mine so far is great, hope it continues that way.
