Will a Ford Escape rental be too small?

I typically rent through Budget and just got a rate of $199 for the week on a Ford Escape. My question is, will this be big enough for me to fit two large suitcases and a stroller in the back? I will have two small children in the seats, so it may be possible to put something at their feet if I needed too.

Do you think I will be ok? I know that if I get down there and it is too small, I will end up paying a very high price to upgrade.

I have to say that at Budget this past year I had a full size car and they offered an upgrade to a mid size SUV--Ford Escape. Well, I knew that a Ford Escape was a small, not mid size SUV and I'm glad I declined because I felt we got more trunk space from the Chevy Impala than we would have had from the Escape.

BTW, we had 2 large suitcases and 2 umbrella strollers and they easily fit into the trunk. The Escape did not seem to have a lot of cargo space, IMO.

I think you should be fine. However I havnt seen how much room is in the back of the new Escapes (they have been redesigned a bit since I worked at Ford, but dont know how much it affected the cabin if any) Me and my best friend took one for a 2000 mile trip and had our luggage, golf clubs and your basic odds and ends for a 2 week trip and the back seats had nothing in them..

You should be fine. My parents own an Escape and we used it to transport us to and from the airport on our last trip. The back was big enough to hold one large, 2 medium, and a carry on sized suitcase plus 2 carry on bags. you may need to do a little manuevering but it should fit.

Shouldn't be a problem. We fit a huge amount in my Escape all the time. Two large suitcases and a stroller should fing fine, with room to spare.

We have an Escape. There is plenty of luggage room in the back. I can't imagine the trunk of a car having more space.

We are packing 2 large suitcases, a carry on, and a large cooler for our Thanksgiving trip and there is still room.
