My family is planning a trip to Wildwood NJ this summer, and I am so excited! :yay:We usually go off season, in October, but in 2011 we skipped that trip to save money for a week in season. Much more expensive, but we love the beach.

Anyway, I am trying to decide which way to go. When we went off season, we stayed in a condo. It's much more money to stay in the Condo in Season. We can rent a motel room suite for less, but it is much smaller too and not as nice really. I saw one place called the Biscayne Family Resort that looked kind of nice and it had pretty good reviews on TripAdvisor. Anybody ever hear of it?:surfweb:

I'll take any recommendations for places to stay that were clean, safe and affordable. Thanks! :lovestruc

We live about 2 hrs from Wildwood and have stayed many times. I've never rented a condo but I would recommend the Adventurer in Wildwood Crest. Great location, clean neat and friendly place. It's a bit pricy in the summer (they all are) but we felt it was worth it. We also like the El Coronado at the other end of Wildwood Crest, but it is more expensive and a less convenient location to the Boardwalk.

Wildwood is a great vacation, lots to do and beautiful beaches. Be sure to go over and check out Cape May too.

I was just looking at Wildwood Crest Hotels on tripadvisor a few nights ago. I also saw the Biscayne on there, my Dsis and her family had been staying there for many years except now they moved to south Jersey so they don't need to stay there. We have stopped to visit them while we were at another resort, it had nice rooms and clean, the owners are very nice retired teachers. We thought the pool was a little small but it has southern exposure, they also own the hotel behind them not sure of the name, it's a block up from the beach. We are thinking of going to Wildwood in August, some of the hotels drop a little in price the last week or two in August but its still around $150/night. You can buy tickets now for 1/2 price on Moreys piers website for the boardwalk they also have the tram car tickets on sale. Linda :)

Love WW Crest and our family's been staying there over Memorial Day weekend and at least once over the summer since I was pregnant with my oldest (who's now 14). We normally stay in an efficiency at The Reges or next door at the Beau Rivage. Yep, both are a little on the pricey side during the season (especially the Reges), but you basically step off the elevator or walk down the steps and onto the sand. And the 'Crest is a whole lot less "wild" than Wildwood.

However, this year...

...drum roll please...:rotfl2:

We've opted to go with Vacation Rental By Owner (VRBO.com). We're staying near -- but not in -- Wildwood at a place on the bay. Private. Small, less populated area, and it's about $400 less than the efficiency.

Not sure if we'll prefer this to the efficiency but we thought we'd give it a shot this year. The person we're renting from has gotten great reviews and we actually drove by the property the last time we were in the area.

Maybe it's another possible option to the motel or condo thing...?

We go to Wildwood Crest every year. We get an efficiency at the Fleur de Lis. It's 8 blocks from the boardwalk. We walk to the boardwalk and hop on the tram. We usually don't even move our car for the week. It's right on the beach.

I choose the efficiency over the condo because I like having someone come in and clean our room. I don't like to worry about that on vacation. And I like staying right on the beach. The kitchen in the efficiency has a full size refrigerator and a stove top. The hotel also has 2 big grills.
