I am going to WDW for 2 days and one night this month and can stay at either the WL Courtyard view or YC Water View. I hope the people here on the disboards can help me decide.

Thanks in advance

Nathan

We've stayed at both and it depends on your taste. We love the WL but it may be because we live in Maine and loved the more rustic feeling. YC to us was more like the GF, very nice just not for us. Don't get me wrong were not a bunch of hicks up here we've stayed at all of the deluxes, we just like WL the best.

Boy, they are very different resorts in regard to themeing. I think it's a totally personal decision. Which themeing do you prefer and which location do you like? WL is close to MK and YC is close to Epcot.

We, too, loved our stay at WL. It's a very beautiful and relaxing resort. We liked too, that it is not to big.

I'm sure the YC is nice too.

Good luck,

Last month, we stayed 4 nights at the YC standard view and 2 at the WL courtyard view. DH and I liked the YC better, and our two young sons liked them both. While the WL will always be our sentimental favorite--we honeymooned there--we liked the theming, and the proximity to Epcot and Boardwalk. It really depend on your taste; do you like formal, nautical theme or prefer rustic, family style?

We went two years ago in the fall, and happened to stay at both WL and YC. They were both great. It really depends on which park you might be going to, and if you may like doing some things at the BW. The hotels are both grand. SAB wins points in the swimming pool dept. BUT the pool at WL is nice and relaxing. I guess if I had to choose, and I was going to a park, I would choose YC. It was not only an easy walk, but a pretty walk, too. You can't beat Beaches and Cream!!

Tough call.

We've stayed at both. You can't go wrong with either one.

What park do you want to be closer to?

We really like being able to walk out of the YC and walk over to the Boardwalk or out to a boat to watch Illuminations. We had a lagoon view concierge room. The room seemed bigger than our room at WL.

WL is awesome with the theming. It truly is jaw dropping when you walk into the lobby. Roaring Forks is nice for a bowl of chili, food or snacks when you are hungry. The themed pool is nice.

Let us know what you decide.

It sounds like you are going solo. If that's the case, I'd say Yacht Club. The feel is a little more formal and adult.

Plus, you've got wonderful nightlife on the Boardwalk, just a short stroll away. There's the ESPN club, the Brewery, Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar, and the dance club. Also, there are also lots little attractions on the Boardwalk - jugglers, magicians, fortune tellers, arcade games, that kind of stuff.

We've stayed at both and prefer the YC way better!!! The Epcot Resort area is so convenient and like another poster said, "more adult." It's so convenient and there is shopping, dining and recreation right outside the front door.

WL is a beautiful resort but we thought it to be "far removed" even though there is a boat launch to MK. The boat transportation was awful when we were there.

And, YC has the absolute best pool on property - WL pool is small.

that's my 2 cents...

If you're just going alone, as a single man, then definitely do the YC. It's close to adult stuff, nightlife, etc. Epcot Worldshowcase, the Boardwalk area, bars, ESPN club, etc. You'd be bored at the WL ... it's more of a family type place near MK for the kiddos. :)
