1) The sheer beauty of a well-themed resort, unlike anyplace else at WDW
2) The music which, by the way, is largely comprised of original compositions by Aaron Copland, a great American composer. You can get a CD of his works cheaply through nearly any CD retailer including chains like
WalMart. "Rodeo," which people will recognize from the "Beef. It's what's for dinner" campaign, and "Fanfare for the Common Man," an Olympic staple, are the two most recognizable movements. Look for an Elmer Berstein Century Collection CD with Copland's music on it. I think they may have played this the entire time we were at VWL.
3) Artists Point restaurant (the buffalo is quite good)
4) The quiet secondary pool near the Villas. The main pool is fine, but gets crowded. Rarely so does the smaller pool, and it has a hot spa, as well.
5) The lobby. Splendid!
6) The rooms. Our 1BR suite was superb.
7) The second lobby at the Villas. The main lobby can get loud and crowded at times, but the Villas section has its own lobby (it has no check-in desks, just chairs and couches) where you can sit down and relax, read a book, play a game, or just sit back and have a drink.
8) Easy access to nearly anyplace in WDW.
Enjoy!
