The past week, my son and daughter-in-law were married at the Wilderness Lodge Sunrise Terrace. The wedding was at 2:00pm on Weds 10/21.

The good: The Sunrise Terrace venue was very nice and everything was ready and beautiful for the event. The staff did an excellent job coordinating the event and after-wedding cake/champagne. The photographer supplied went above and beyond the call of duty to make everyone feel comfortable and took a gazillion photos of everyone.

The bad: There was a cast member at the pool with a megaphone coordinating kids activities all during the wedding event. It is really LOUD. It really sucked and sort of ruined the magic created Disney's planners. All we needed was 10 minutes of relative quiet. My older son shot video from 15 ft away and you cannot hear me (officiant), or our son and daughter in law exchange vows. My wife was 6 feet away and said it was terrible. All you can hear is that lady at the pool.

In my opinion, there should have been some kind of coordination between that activity and the timing of the wedding - specially for the money they spent for a special Disney wedding.

anyway - a heads up for those planning a Sunrise Terrace wedding - perhaps a morning wedding would be a better time.

That is a really good thing to know. I've been irritated by the loud pool games outside my window before—I never thought about what it would be like if you were having a wedding nearby!

Then again, maybe now whenever your son and daughter-in-law hear the Hokey Pokey being conducted over a megaphone, it will give them fond memories of their wedding... :teeth:

I was looking at Sunrise for ours, but with the upcoming construction next year, it's not available. I too had a concern if it was, any construction noise, construction ugliness etc.
That was awful with the megaphone. Did anyone say anything to the planner at all?

And since we are doing the Yacht Club Gazebo instead, I'm still having a small concern with noise & onlookers as our venue is in a privately public area. (yea that's the best way to put it LOL)
